using aztech 305e with linksys wrt54gl thibor15c firmware.

recently, i've been experiencing rather often disconnections with singnet. my router won't be able to get a new ip until like 5-10 minutes later.

it happened like i think 1 month ago, but 1 week ago it sort of went away, but the past few days it seems to be back.

what could be wrong?

Change your modem, chances is your modem is about to up lorry. I have frequent disconnection for the last month and the frequency of disconnection was going up from 1 DC per day to several in 1 hr. Finally I had the modem router replaced and all is good. So maybe you wanna give it a try. Wonder why ADSL modem dun come with a fan to cool it since ADSL modem becomes rather hot after sometime.

Yes, I am wondering about that as well. If price is not a factor, what is the best, most stable ADSL2+ modem in the market that is available to consumers?

There are many brands available Netgear Linksys, Asustek, 3com, Dlink, Buffalo. Netgear seems to be less seen this days, hardly see any shops carrying Netgear in SLS but mostly Linksys, Dlink and some other less known brands. Curently I am using a Linksys WAG54G2 wireless router cum gateway. It is not the best router but it fits my needs and within my budget < $120, no point going for N series or more advance model which is >> $180 and dun need its features. I choose Linksys as it has Singnet / Pacific setup GUI dun know about other brands.

this may sound stupid.

Have you try reset the modem and router yet? Sometimes is helps.

Modem i think 3com, speedtouch and dlink should be good,

hello, which shops sell modems alone nowadays?

cos i checked the pricelist of modems, can't really find any standalone modems from 3com or dlink
