Hi,
anyone using Linksys WAG160N with Singnet BB?
Would like to hear any feedback on this gateway, whether it's worth it and if not, any alternatives?

I bought the WAG160N about a month back and has been using with Singnet. Not very good, especially the connection with wireless devices are seriously lacking. On some good days, my Nokia phone can connect easily, on other days, I have to restart the gateway a few times.
Google WAG160N and you will find lots of complaints about this gateway and the subsequent firmwares released by Linksys. It seems each successive firmware released, more problems are reported.
Contacted Linksys a few times and they insisted that the trouble is with my wireless devices, ie. Nokia phone and notebook, having defective software. They ignored me despite my drawing their attention to the numerous postings of defective firmware for WAG160N on forums.
I am now looking for an alternative, all-in-one gateway. Looks like Belkin is one good alternative. Any comments on that?

I read about issues with WAG160N too. I saw the Belkin gateways, especially draft n ones look not bad.
But I wonder if it's good too.
I read many recommendations to use a modem + router, instead of a gateway with modem and router in one device too.

any reason of getting a gw rather than separate devices? if you can afford that little more desk space, another power point and a little more messy cable and a bit more power usage, go for the separate set ups.

I guess it's the ease of managing a gateway, since the connection to ISP, router management is all on one device. Saves space too.

that's the trade off you need to consider.

Guess I could fall back on the Ethernet router provided by Singtel and connect it to a wireless. Any good wireless router to recommend?
