I have a Dlink Di-604 wired router. Port 4 goes out to a 24-port Dlink switch for desktops. No issues with pinging each other.

I have laptops which have to be able to communicate with the desktops for connectivity. Thus the laptops have to ping the desktops and vice versa.

Can I get two wireless routers to connect to Port 1 and Port 2 of the Wired Router to establish wireless network for laptops?

I understand that the lan for wired pcs are 192.168.1.xxx. Does the wireless use the same network? or must the wireless network be changed to 192.168.2.xxx etc.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

You nid APs instead of a wireless router, though you can down-convert a wireless router to pure switch+AP mode
