Hi All,
After few months not using my MIOTV I decided to give it a new try.
I connected the Motorola Mio box to the 2Wire modem using a Homeplug LAN Connection. The MIOTV channels freeze after 10 to 20 seconds, but the VOD runs perfectly, so it seems that the Homeplug was not the problem. I moved the box to connect the ethernet port direclty on the modem, and all is running prefectly. So what's kind of influance the homeplug may have on the video streaming for MIOTV but not VOD?
It looks very strange to me. Any idea?

The Homeplug is running perfectly at 75Mbs average. Should the homeplug not working properly both MIOTV and VOD will be affected. I did the test with the Singnet technician who was as surprise as I am.
What's the level 2 communication layer difference between VOD and MIOTV streaming?

SD VOD vs. HD channel is it?
75Mbps is only a rated theorectical max rate.

Your MIOTV channels probably require more bandwidth than the VOD channels.

No no we tried only non-HD programs on both VOD and MIO. Singnet performed a bandwith test and it was ok. As it is streaming video there is no bufferization at the client level, so this cannot explain why it is running for 10 to 20 seconds before freezing. Each time I switch to a new channel it runs perfeclty for a short time. There is no pixelisation of the images as if some information was missing due to a poor bandwith, it just freezes strait.

Try changing to a new phone cable from wall point to the mio modem. Had a freezing problem too and the technician suggested replacing my old phone cable (had used it because it was shorter and neater) with the one that came with the modem. The video freeze problem went away after the switch.
