Connecting Computers

Hi,

My computer A and B are connected to the same modem/router(MioBox). However at Computer A, i am only able to see Computer A and 2701HGV-gateway inside my network(computer B aonly has computer B and gateway as well).

Under Network and Sharing->Sharing and Discovery, I have turned on network sharing, file sharing and password protection sharing. What other configurations do i have to make to allow both computer to see each other?

I am using windows vista ultimate and my modem is 2701HGV-E.

Please advise.

are they on the same workgroup? are you able to ping them? same subnet should not require gateways to communicate with each other, try sharing a folder and use \\ip\$foldername

i am unable to ping them though they are on the same subnet mask. What else do i need to change?

Thanks for you help. I have managed to connect both of them by enabling permission in the firewall settings.
