Hi

I am currently pacific.net isp user. i pay $67 per month for 8mbps connection, which i just recently found out that for the price is freakin expensive.. :s22:

i signed up for 2 years contract and has ended on last februari. So im thinking to sign up for a new fixed broadband contract (8mbps one) during upcoming pc show

I dont know what isp to choose tho. Ive been to m1, singtel, and starhub websites. seems m1 has the best price for 8mbps plan. but i have no idea about the performance.

I already a modem (connect to the tv box) and a router at home. so its best if the plan has any freebies beside modem :s13:

Please advisse me what isp to choose.. I will really appreciate that..

Thanks!

From what you described, you seems to be using cable modem all along? In that case you can try M1. Seems to garner some good feedback so far.

yah, heard lotsa good review bout M1. Singtel used to be great but its services are getting suckier and suckier.

It almost seems that the 3 BB companies are taking turns at screwing up, such that ppl will turn their attention to the others at each IT show to ensure all 3 telcos have equivalent subscribers. It was Singtel turn to be great last PC show. This PC show, M1? next lag-o-hub?? lols.

thx for the suggestion cpuer &lucifer (what a nick lol)

im not sure if this is cable modem, but its connected to the tv box.. i will check m1 then. hopefully they have good offer during the pc show..

@nwt1978
is yours pacific.net too? i signed up like 2.5 years ago. maybe price is still high during that time.. 70 for 12mbs is definetely cheaper than mine. anyway, may i know why you sign up for pacific.net? why dont choose big brands like m1 or singtel?

Actually even now M1 already have quite gd promo.. Up to 40% off their Fixed BB plans from 10Mbps onwards.. Best of all, only 6 mths contract :D

So wonder what the deals at PC Show would be...

I'm not sure how good/bad M1 is, but I'm been a Starhub customer since SCV days. Speed wise its nothing awesome la, highest d/l speed probably 1.3mb/s from good hosts. Which dosen't happens alot lol .

I had a friend, roughly used Starhub the same time as me, which is I think 8 years+ since SCV days and he recently changed to SingnetBB. Well, from wad he said is, SingnetBB has random d/c few times a day or a week, though they reconnect almost instantly, but having a d/c in the middle of anything sucks though.

So if given a choice between SN/SH, SH is my pick for sure. I'll leave u to decide for SH or M1.
