I using Starhub MOL Premium and is considering to replace my Linksys Router WRT54GS. This router sometimes couldn't handle heavy traffic load.
The daily usages are web surfing, online gaming, dling, video streaming and minor FTP with 2 or more PCs, both wired and wireless.

Saw the DIR 655 which is quite popular though the price is expensive. Was recommend by other to get DIR 615 which lack 1 antenna, usb port and the gigabit ethernet. But after searching through all user reviews online, there are some cons abt DIR 615 such as unable to wirelessly connect to the internet, complicated set-up (for the non-technician); doesn't work well with hand-held devices, no 5GHZ Radio, setup and management of router is bad as there are many things to configure.

So is the DIR 655 easy to setup using DHCP as the linksys router?
Also i heard the dlink router is lifetime warranty? so anytime I can bring the router down to Funan Service Center?

Thanks. :)

everything that is italicized is simply not true at all. i just got this router a few days ago and i could gladly say that it's a very decent router. the router was set up very easily within 10 minutes and 2 of the laptops in my house were able to connect to the internet wirelessly without any problems. the setup and management of the router is very simple and easy understand because there is a helpful guide for any setting that u wish to change. in addition, to once again prove the validity of the italicized words i tested my PSP with the router to connect to the internet and i didn't have any problem at all. i was connected and surfing the net on the PSP within a minute.

D-Link's lifetime warranty is true and their service center is really in funan and in jurong.

And d-link's installation is less den 5 mins with the supplied cd and manual

I bought it and set it up within mins. The performance was abit better than the linksys. However my laptop which was using Intel 5100agn is still connecting at 54mbps. I have enable b/g/n mixed mode at 20MHz channel width. Also the dir 655 feel abit warmer.

just to add on that the main product(router) is lifetime warranty, accessories such as adapter is 3 yrs only. why i know? coz i recently did a 1-1 exchange of my faulty dlink adapter @ Funan.

??

what i meant was this line - "unable to wirelessly connect to the internet, complicated set-up (for the non-technician); doesn't work well with hand-held devices, no 5GHZ Radio, setup and management of router is bad as there are many things to configure."

The first thing 'unable to wirelessly connect internet', is first tell-tale of a lie in *any* comment found on internet
