Singtel BBoM Error

Hi,
Just got my Singtel Huawei modem today after doing the installation. I got this error message when I click on connect, anybody can help? Thanks inadvance first.

"error 720: a connection to the remote computer could not be established. you might need to change the network setting for this connection."

I am using Win XP SP2.
Did a search on Google and try the resetting of TCP/IP but does not work.

Have this same problem too. Running XP Pro SP2 on my laptop.

Initially can connect. But after a fews days, cannot connect anymore.

WHen try to connect, it show failed to connect to internet.

When using the dialer from network connections, it shows error 720.

I did not install any other software after the installation of this modem.

Tried to uninstall all network service in add or remove programs and reinstall again.

But also no use.

Sianx, looks like have to reinstall Windows.

Strangly, it still works well on my desktop running XP Pro SP2.

Checked all settings, look the same on the desktop and laptop.

1: Is the modem detected on Device manager and shown in the dashboard software?

2: what the modem model used? Example: E180/E168/Exxxx

- under the device driver, it had detected my Huawei mobile connect - 3G modem
- i am using huawei E1762

Call Singtel. I got the error blah blah, when i just receive my Huawei USB 180. Then i found out they hasn't activate my BBOM number thru their help line and was told to wait for a day before it can be use as he was required to submit request form.

Nope. Not yet. No time to do that.

Was hoping to find a solution so that no need to reformat.

The modem is detected correctly under device manager. It is a Porlink PHS100. Same as shown on my desktop device manager.

But just cannot connect to the internet on my laptop.

On my desktop no problem.

I'm on SH BBOM.
I occassionally get that same error (remote computer ...) but I did not do anything to resolve the problem.
It went away on its own.
