Linux Ubuntu 9.04 - Internet connection

Hi guys!

I have just installed Ubuntu alongside Windows XP in my desktop and everything is good so far. Just that, I do not have an internet connection(settings) to it.

Is there anyway to go about it? I am using Singnet Mio modem and it is connected(wired) to my desktop.

You don't need any in the first place. DHCP should kick in.

Hi! What do you mean? Is DHCP in Ubuntu in the first place? What are the steps to go about it?
