i use a planex router. Simple & reliable, no problems for me, but support sucks. Firmware updates are rare and email to support goes unanswered, hence I would not consider it again. Depends on what you are after, features? is it g or n router? I think d-link is most popular currently and price wise not more expensive than a planex. Plus local support is present and available.

brought it for my brother house since it is cheap. But breakdown in less than 1 year... and no support to be found.

Agree that firmware update is extremely rare. Simple .. but sometime too simple with limited function for a little more heavy usage.

I stick to Dlink at home... recently brought Zyxel for my sister house (so far so good)

Think Dlink, Linksys or even Asus are good brand to stick with .. or Netgear...
