Hi Guys,

im not sure if anyone face the same problem as mine. or this problem is normal.

Im now a 3MBps singnet line. I have no problem surfing net, msn and downloading. Connection is stable.

However when i try tt bt or use pps, the download speed will reach a certain high limit and go all the way down to 0kbps. And once it hit 0kbps, the download speed will start to pick up again. This will occur everytime when i use the 2 applications. :(

Anyone came across the same problem as mine and manage to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

i also have the same issue as you, but mine is dlink router. whenever i use bittorrent, sometimes my singnet connection (3mbs too) will just hang there and i have to restart the modem and the router together and it will then work as per normal. when i'm using other applications, it seems oki..

whats the reason?

every router has it limitation of connections it can handle..

linksys wrt54gl wit dd-wrt firmware, is the router tat wil be able to handle bittorrent better.

to overcome bittorrent problem is to lower down the Global max connection, means the total connections.

You mean this one 'Global maximum number of connections'?

I'm now putting it at 3000, how many should i change to?

Wa..3000 is too much liao la. For router, around 200 to 300 already the max stress for it liao.

But if seriously,u wan to dl torrent fast n lot of connection, than bridge yr modem n use com to dial up n manage the internet,in this case u sure wouldnt hav any problem ler. Or get linksys wrt54gl wit ddwrt firmware router.

oh..oki.. will keeping down to 200-300 have a difference in my speed?

by lowering the total connections wil affect the download speed, but u hav no choice, since the router is only suitable for normal usage, like web surfing, normal dl.

Why don't you connect to Microsoft and download a big file to see what speed you are getting?
I am sure everyone knows ISPs throttle BT traffic.

It getting worst & WORST upload a page still to need to wait for at least 1.25mins even with 8mbs must bear with it since my contract end next year, bt then they still don't wake up confirm Jump Ship.

wat u mean by upload page? wat page? size of page upload? upload to where? bear in mind tat 8mbps upload speed is 512Kbps(~64KB/s)

so cannot always blame the isp, most of the case is your side.
