Like most Starhub bband users, I experience severe slowdowns during peak periods, up to the point of being unable to even load youtube videos. Did a test on the Starhub utilities site and found I was receiving as low as 2mb bandwidth on my Express plan ! Im a high bandwidth user (downloads, games etc), so it affects me alot. Seeing as my contract is up, I thought this would be a good time to consider jumping to Singnet.
I asked some friends and got very mixed responses regarding Singnet. Some swear by its speed and stability, while others complain of slowness and frequent disconnects. None of them live in my area though, so its hard to tell how accurate their opinions are.
From what I've gathered online and from friends, Singnet apparently has lower maximum speeds but a dedicated line, thus no slowdowns even during peak periods. On the other hand, Starhub has higher max speed, but thats only relevant when not many people are online. How true is this really?
Hope to get some feedback from a nearby user. Thanks! :)
