Using the wireless usb adapter on my pc. When they first install the 2 Wire wireless modem cum router, the signal strength was 4 bars which was very good. But for the past 1 week, the signal strength keep flutuating and become very low (only 1 bar or 2 bars). However the signal strength shown on my laptop is excellent? So what could hv gone wrong? Is it SN problems? Or the Linksys by Cisco wireless adapter is not so good? Pls advise. Thank you.

wireless issue never is Singnet problem provided you want to blame em for the sucky router given to you.
try calling malifax and or singtel to get your router replaced (if its from them - 2wire)
if after changing issue persists, try replacing your wireless card.

Hi All,
Thanks for the help.
I just realized that since my cpu is hidden under my computer table, i slide out the cpu compartment out of the table and the signal strength got better. At least it is now more stable at 3 or 4 bars. Although it still fluatating a little and sometime go to 2 bars but it will quickly go up to 3 or 4 bars again. At least not drop to 1 bar and cannot surf or play games at all.
Since for the 2 Wire wireless modem cum router plus the wireless USB adapter just use for 1 month, so i hope it is not due to faulty of both?
And i hv done the speed test and the result also quite good. :)

Meaning no good? I thought if high ping still fast speed still ok? B'cos playing online games seem ok?
Maybe you can enlighten me more? Is it problem with the modem cum router or any ways to lower the ping?
Thanks!
