Hi all,

I would like to ask all of your for your advice. I have a desktop, running on XP and I have a new laptop running on vista home. I have read that I am able to connect these two computer together via a crossover cable. I would want my desktop to be connected my SH SB5121I Modem. Can someone advise me and give me a step by step protocol to connect my two computers? I have searched through website but alot of technical terms i am not sure so i am only able to fix halfway but to no avail. DO advise me as i dont see the need to get a router yet as i wont need to serve two computer and laptop together at the same time for most of the time. Thanks

can be done. But is alot more work and you have to keep your desktop on to allow your notebook to do the job.

DEsktop have to be connected via USB from 5121
Desktop will then connect via rj45 to notebook

ICS it.

a 2nd hand router is so cheap nowadays, even if you don't see the needs now, you will when you get one.
