View Full Version : No Connection after installing Anti virus

Hi all,

I just installed ESET Smart Security 4. It got antivirus, antispyware, firewall.


I installed it on my laptop with vista and it worked fine. But now, I cannot install it on Window XP on my netbook.

Whenever, I installed it, I cannot surf the net or so anything that requires connection although i can see the wireless connection still on with excellent connection. I try to off the firewall or even antivirus, its still the same. I can only surf the internet and msn after I uninstall the antivirus.

What setting I have to change for this problem?

hmm i not quite sure but double check that u have allow yr IE/firefox in yr firewall to access da internet.

I am not familiar with Eset but if it works like Avast by scanning the http and https (ie web) access then probably the antivirus proxy server is not working probably on your computer. Check to see in your web browser to see if the software adds any proxy settings in there. If so, remove it.

Can you any your email or ftp or other internet protocol apart from your web browser ?

May be you should transfer your license (http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2213&cat=PA&actp=LIST) to the netbook from the laptop ;)

I only tried using the IE and msn....

i change from auto to interactive.... both cannot.... damm tired.... tried install and uninstall more than 10 times... change here and there.... still cannot....
