View Full Version : Unable to forward ports?

Hi all

I have the D-Link DIR-300 router. I tried all the instructions on forwarding ports (configuring the router etc) but when I check with the PortForward port checker and with uTorrent.. it still says the port is closed. I've enabled Windows Firewall to allow when the message popped up the first time. Tried enabling and disabling uPNP, all no go. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Make sure the modem is setup properly.

It is.. checked and rechecked. Did everything on the portforward site. Still no go. Funny thing is, my notebook works fine, my new desktop cannot :s11:

You gotta show the WAN status page here then.

Type in ipconfig and make sure the assigned IP tallies with the entry.
Also, is there a green tick at the bottom? If yes, you're done.

Hey i'm having some problems too. But i'm using a Linksys WRT54G. I checked with uTorrent Port Checker, seems to be closed still, despite me forwarding and triggering all the ports i wanted. Any help?

No green tick... also, my IP is dynamic.. fluctuates between 192.168.0.100 / 101 / 102

So I put all three in the port forwarding page, for both TCP and UDP, set the correct port, e.g. 54321 for all 3. Also set the same port number in uTorrent. Still no go :s27:

You're creating conflict in the pinhole config.

Use Statis DHCP and bind ur PC's MAC ID to a specific internal IP assignment first

OK i managed to set it on WIndows to use 192.168.0.100, but what do I put for primary and secondary DNS? Currently using:

under Internet Protocol v. 4

IP: 192.168.0.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

DNS Address:
Preferred DNS: 203.116.1.78
Secondary DNS: 203.116.254.150

uTorrent shows the green tick and the port checker shows connected, but got problems opening some web pages, getting DNS errors. What DNS to use for Starhub users?
