BT plus router plus SH.... cant surf net

if i don BT, i can surf net without any problem...

after i on my BT... i cant surf net at all...

advise: don't BT coz it's sucking network resources from the rest of the users :P

try and set ur BT client's upload limit to say about 5kbps to test and see if that helps

wat router r u using? Linksys?

cap ur limit on connections. Upload speed doesn't really plays a part.

Limit your upload speed to 10-16KB/s.

few reasons.

1. your notebook has reached it max connections and you can't establish any new ones with BT running.

2. if you already had adjusted your max connections, then it's obviously your router, i.e. not able to handle any more connection requests

3. then there also the case that your BB connection is maxed out..

If your router has QoS and you've configured it properly, perhaps that would help.

Typically, some routers do not have QoS, or even if there is, the users do not know how to configure.

I'm referring to it in general, and you have to understand it in general, not to your own settings.

Anything higher for MOL will be disastrous.

Can't surf properly, and the higher the upload bandwidth, the slower the downloads from my 8 years of experiences with them. Optimal would be 16KB/s.

However, I've switched to SNBB, and getting much better download speeds than when I was with MOL.

I share upload at 50kb/s also boh dai chi leh, maybe tcp port setting too aggressive bah.

yeah, i'll have to agree that bad router or bad torrent setting shouldn't be mistaken as advice to lower upload speed. because everyone kiam siap with upload speed, there will be another set of long threads about how torrents are slow, kena throttled or insane open port setting, misleading even more people about ineffective settings.

It's not the first day I'm working with MOL, and it's not only myself having this problem. I troubleshoot a lot for my friends and relatives, so I can quote more than just myself.

I am not trying to be number one, instead i am trying to let others know where the exact problem is:

especially when upload speed is not the factor. i can set 16kb/s for my upload speed and have a max connection of 500000. Will my surfing of net works since i apply your upload settings?

You are not alone. But the problem is i don't have friends having such issue like you on upload speed.

Now, are you very friendly either? And who is trying to be the number one now?

oh and if upload is an issue. Tell TS this - upload stuffs to his friend and try surfing the net. LoL

very long time ago i got this problem... depends on your bt client i using utorrent just reduce your global max and max number of connected peers...
