I had recently bought a XP HOME edition, how many PC can i install the windows?

Only 1 system for OEM and non-transferable, if you bought the retail version, it's transferable but still 1 system at any one time.

It works without validating if you don't bother to update the installed O/S, but when you perform manual updating of the operating system, you will need to installed the WGA to validate the installed O/S.

If you choose Auto update, you won't need to manually install the WGA for updating, but it will still silently install the WGA (as an update) to "silently" validate the install O/S.

It needs to be activated, either online or via phone.

If you intend not to use the PC to go onto the Internet, you may find some ways to activate on several PCs, but MS isn't that stupid to let you do so that frequently.

If they will be going online, then very soon the key could be banned.

Since you're going friendly, why buy an original in the first place...? I'm not encouraging friendliness, just that it's totally not logical at all.

what do you mean by going friendly ?

i am just checking whether am i allowed to install the OS on more thn 1 PC and the limitation of the OS w/o validating. Seems like i need to get another piece, may i know the diff between a OEM version and a FULL package ? i saw them on the software section.

You need to get the full version if you want to transfer using the OS from one system to another - but it can only be used on any 1 PC only.

OEM means it is tied to only that system and no others - you can't even transfer the license.
