Hi all,
I am wondering if DIR-655 will affect the performance of the future optical fibre when its out?
Like DIR-655 will not support optical fibre etc etc?
Or optical fibre need a special modem etc etc?
TIA!

There will be a 'modem' you will need first. From there you can connect to any router. Of course, you need to pair your plan speed to a relevant capable router.

when u get new internet plan, u will get new modem.
by then u can choose to upgrade ur 655.
if u scared, dont buy lor. u might as well ask what happen when real N 600mbps come out.
avid players dont sexpect to spend more than 2yrs on the same router.
think belkin got gb wan offering.

when optical fibre out, if you subscribe to it, u will get a ont which will convert optic fiber to rj-45
u will then conenct this rj-45 to dir-655
so in another words... YES dir-655 supports the next generation broadband

wow GB WAN. missed it.
at least ur 655 will still be able to get a 1gbps. or rather, thats all a regular consumer will only be able to afford for years to come.
damn now hard pressed between this and G300NH

Since its already a gigabit router should be safe
I m also interested in bufflo g300 router as its 11n and gigabit ethernet and cheaper compare to most ppls aim for dlink hehe

g300nh is high powered some more. u can see PK review between g300nh and dir 655.
guess which won ;)
integrated NAS, BT downloader
but no lifetime warranty
