Recently I moved house and changed to a new wireless modem 2WIRE 2710HGV-E. Got a new account and using a new tel number too. Normal downloading and surfing is ok but now my utorrent port is not forwarded. I have done everything the same as previously but still geting the yellow triangle instead of the green icon in my utorrent status bar.
I'm using Comodo Security Suite with utorrent. Anyone with similar experience or can help? Thks! :o

Click test port
hi liangtam,
i tried test port liao... it said port not forwarded. previously in my old place, everything was okay. i'm using the same comodo security suite and utorrent.
after changing a new account and wireless modem, i've also updated the utorrent port and details in my broadband gateway (same as what i did previously)... think the problem is the comodo firewall. don't know whether need or how to change it. :(
help!!!

above steps are for comodo older version, but concept is similar for newer v3. iirc for utorrent, allow both tcp & udp...?

curious, if computer already behind router, why need firewall ah? since private ip liao, outside cannot anyhow open connection inside.

I'm guess is ur comodo firewall blocking ur utorrent. i 'm using eset security suite and its firewall is blocking my torrent so what i do is i just unblock it

for these so called windows firewall nonsense, when I turned on logging, all I see, and i mean 100% of everything the firewall logged were "blocked" application that were trying to make an outgoing connection. these so called blocked applications must be released to restore functionality.
i've never seen a single log line, not one, zero log lines that showed any incoming connection that were solicited and were blocked because it was a hack attempt. this is because there's a router and it doesn't "create" new connection back to the pc unless it was in response to a stateful connection made out from the pc.
so effectively, if you have a router, all a firewall does in the pc is actually inconvenient you to actually keep releasing or opening ports for outgoing application connection.

understood. in my case, win fw no exceptions easily when friends/relatives laptops using home network. or sometimes play-play with dmz setting won't forget to up fw, else bare...

Issue netstat to see if the port is binded successfully.
Match and tally the assigned internal IP from the 2Wire.
Wired and wireless(if applicable) from same PC has 2 distinct MAC ID, hence diff assignment as well.
