i got a dir-655 and need to bridge the wireless to my room where my other computers are (all on standalone lan).
im tinking of using dd-wrt but need compatible wireless routers. not very confident of those saying they got bridge mode becos some support only wds or need to have same unit in a pair to work.
hence, im looking for dir-300 or wrt54 that i can flash with dd-wrt. anyone got spare lying around willing to give away or sell for a token?
or if wat im trying to do is not possible, pls stop me before i start :D
tia!

You should be buying a wireless bridge in that case instead of using dd-wrt which gives problem from time to time.
Anyway, what you need is 1 wire in and a switch to expand.

thanks for the alert on dd-wrt. i thot it is stable :s31:
wireless bridge support in high end model only and d-link dropped this feature sometime back liao so looking around. i found cheap Tp-Link WP340G 54F Wireless Router, but reading thru its manual, it said need to configure mac address on both ap. in my case, dir-655 dun have tis bridge feature so dunno can work or not.
wire in can but cannot lay it from living room where the dir-655 is, all the way into a further room, which is unfortunately, where my isolated lan is located.

DDWRT is not stable on DIR-300.
the BT problem has been resolved on the latest firmware released for DIR-300.

dd-wrt gurus, can i check... dd-wrt supports n draft 2.0? meaning if i flash my n wireless like netgear wnr-834b, will it be n draft 2.0 compliant so that i can run pure n standards instead of downgrading to g.
thanks!
