Network drivers not able to connect internet? Please help

I just bought new desktop.

I installed the Realtek RTL8111DL - 10/100/1000 Controller network drivers for TA790GXE 128M

And then i connect the ethernet cable to my desktop.

Even though it shows that the connections is connected.

But i am not able to access any websites.

Trying to ping the website also cannot get any request.

Anyone have any idea?

starhub. I am uring directi connection to the modem.

I connect the lan cable to desktop. Immediately show connected. But cannot access any websites.

Now i connecting this land cable to my laptop and it is ok

You are using Vista?

check if Network connection show that you are connected to the internet (world icon).
