For those who subscribed to mobile broadband service, I'm sure some are like me who sometimes switch the normal SIM card to broadband SIM card in the phone to access internet, in times when wireless@sg is not available.
But it is very troublesome to strip the phone in the public. I wonder does anyone has a better way to utilize mobile broadband using phone?
So far seems like the most convenient way to access to internet using phone and laptop is to sign up for Data plans for phone and Mobile broadband for laptop. but its not cost effective! Any suggestion?

m1 has recently come out with a device call mifi. When signing for 4mbps or 7mbps. U get to choose btw the stick or the mifi device. If u sign for 4mbps. the device will cost another 68bucks. If u signed for 7mbps, it's given free. that device allows u to connect to 5 device for internet surfing which also include ur handphone provided it's wifi enabled. Well u don haven to switch ur sim card and at the same time share the network with other devices

one bad pt abt the mifi is it last onli 4 hrs. after tat u can charge it via the normal charger given or u can connect it to your laptop via usb to charge it. While connected to laptop, onli the connected laptop can use the mifi to surf the net. Works like other stick device. I find the device quite useful to me as i use to surf with both computer and handphone on the go. With the device... I don have to swap around my sim card. And i don surf on hp for 4 hrs. Haha.

Hi hanstertrance, thanks for your info!
I search around other threads, realized that this device could cost a few hundred dollars, that explains why it only comes free with 7mbps subscription.
too Expensive for me!!!

I got this HKC G1000 (China phone), dual sim.
My Voice Call done via SingTel, and Free Data Plan from MaxOnline Plus on second SIM.
Set the option to go online via second SIM.
Now there are many China phone with these options running WM6.1/WM6.5

The way I do it is like this:
First I subscribed to BBoM as a VAS from Singtel. I then subscribe the multi-SIM service from Singtel therefore, the SIM card in my phone and the SIM card in my Huawei E180 are for the same number. In this way, I never have to switch SIM cards.

The standalone 'data' plans cannot sign as VAS le.
Existing data plan cannot be combined halfway thru as VAS either.

Try this if you have bluetooth in both devices.

Incidently, I was stripping the phone in public quite often these days. I hate it when artificial limits are in place to prevent convienience, and then service providers charge more to make it go away.
If you have a old nokia phone lying around that has WLAN + 3G/3.5G features, you can use Joikuspot and it effectively becomes a MIFI device, I think, with longer battery life. Prolly take longer to boot though. Havent tried it cause my mum commandeered my old phone.
Otherwise the dual sim phones sounds like a great solution.

in my case, i will remove my BBom sim card from the modem during weekends and slot it into my spare phone. When i go shopping with my wife, i will carry 2 phones just so i can surf net while waiting for wife. both phones are quite slim so no issue with carrying both.
