Hi,

I'm using a Aztech WL830RT4 but have found that the new desktop I bought have problems getting connected, stating signals in my room are too weak. Am thinking of getting a N router.

Two questions.
Will a N router give substantially superior range? I live in an apartment...there are walls in between the source and the room but it's not that far away. <30m walking distance.

Is it possible to use the Aztech WL830RT4 as an extender once I get a N router.

Advice appreciated.

Many thanks.

Errm, signal does not travel accordingly to how you walk, you know.

You can try relocating the router

Hi Liangtam,

Haha...save for giving a floor plan, I was attempting to illustrate that it's not that far away....
Unfortunately I don't have the option of relocating the router.

I read your thread on the Aztech HW550-3G. With all those complaints, wonder if it's a worthy purchase if all I want is a N router that will give much better range. Does it actually have a better range than say the AztechWL950RT4 or the Aztech WL830RT4?

Thanks in advance.

All routers have their fair share of complaints.

you can try getting Wireless N router and try changing the antenna. Can get the antenna from this guy :

However, make sure your router model works with the 5dBi antenna that he is selling.
