nope. cause don't really understand what you are trying to do.

Bridge router?

erm.. meaning both the 2WIRE & the ST 586 will have wireless ON yahs?

Yup...
Example, I would like to have the ST 585 to be able to pass the 2wire wireless signal.

cannot.

bridge is connected to WAN port , LAN port cant do it.

u can buy a cheap prolink or aztech or tp link to do the job.

2wire can bridge

585 shd be but not too sure

Ummmm, if yes then any idea how do I start? Cause when I search for this thread I come accross some of the thread that are guiding about this, but it seem it has already deleted by mod.

And may I know what is the difference between wan and lan?

if u look at ur 2wire there is a port "broadband"

that is WAN port.

u can bridge 585 and use 2wire but not the other way round.

all routers look like 2wire but without dsl port.

reading what aaur4man posted im wondering did i set up wrongly. bought a dir-655 and connect all my pc to it. i set 2wire to bridge mode, turn off routing and whatever else i done already.

however when i connect the dir655 to the 2wire i connect to the 2wire via the first lan (out of the 4 yellow lan ports) on the 2wire.

DID I DO IT WRONGLY ALL THIS WHILE!?!?!?! oh my...can confirm?

is the dir655 connection from its ethernet point suppose to join to the "broadband" point of the 2wire?

lol ahha....i admire ur enthusiasm but i love my new router. just wondering if i did it wrong thats all. i have internet connection. just wondering if i suppose to attach to WAN port instead of LAN port. ya my singnet pw and pppoe done on router (dir655)

so the router suppose to connect to LAN port of 2wire la? like what i did...or is it suppose to connect to "broadband" port?

phoneline > bridged 2wire > 2wire LAN > Dir 655 WAN > dir 655 lan to PC

if u have internet connection mean no problem ma

i love my router too but i love new routers all the more

haha. ok. so if i had connected to 2wire WAN(broadband) port to my dir-655 ethernet labelled port then i wouldnt have got a net connection? ok jsut checking cos thot there will still be but a poor signal instead. ok looks like i got it right. thanks for the heads up clarification.

phoneline > bridged 2wire > 2wire LAN > Dir 655 WAN > dir 655 lan to PC

2Wire LAN port TO D-Link WAN/Internet port.

Just to confirm it more clearly.
You intended for:

2Wire as modem/router(gateway mode), wireless may be disabled or enabled for AP-roam
ST585 as a switch and AP?

If yes, this can be done easily
