Router Setup

I'm currently staying in one of the Hostels at NTU. To connect to the internet, one just has to plug the RJ45 Ethernet cable from their computer to the wall socket. There is LAN as well in the sense that I can see other people's playlist from iTunes and can also cre8 games for people to join from LAN. However, after setting up a router in my room so that I can use wireless, I realised that only me and my roomie are connected within the router's lan. Other people staying in Hall will not be able to connect or see our computer within the school hall's network. I've disabled firewall already. Is there a way to link us back to the school's LAN network?

You mean the school did not lock down your LAN port for connecting router on it ah?

Well, thats how a NAT router function mah. If you truly want to link with other connected users, you should hook a switch to it instead. But that is provided the main switch does not lock your rogue equipment down.
