Seagate External HD - Need to register online for warranty??

I bought a Seagate Freeagent hard disk in March. I just realized that I lost the receipt as I bought it at the March PC show. Do I need to register online to get my 5 years warranty as I lost the receipts?

At the same time, how long will RMA take?

Hope some helpful brothers here can advise me on this?

You will need to register the warranty online regardless if you have receipt or not. This is to facilitate the RMA process if your drive need to go through one. The RMA process will take at least a week, judging from a few drives that I've sent over.
