Wat do you recommend ?

Need 5 yr warrantly.

SATA II Preferred.

Don't forget there's Samsung and Hitachi as well. As to what you should get, depends on personal preference I guess most of the time.

5rys only for those enterprise drives and SCSI if not wrong.

normal desktop ones are 3yrs

WD is 3yrs by WD themselves and 2yrs by distro

This HDD is mainly for storage purpose. Not a HDD that going to be C Drive.

5 yr warrantly is good. But seens like the HDD price rise from $122 to $150 ++ .

for a normal user any disk will do.

the more popular ones are WD Blue, WD Black (if you need the added performance), Seagate 7200.12. All 3 are using SATA II interface.

Green is 5200rpm whereas Black is 7200rpm. Green mainly for storage purpose and Black for performance. I am switching to WD because all my Seagate are developing Reallocated Sector Count issue.
