No HD Found When Install XP

Recently i have a problem when i startup my laptop.it never go into the window but go into the option for safe mode.there are some choices ask to select on the safe mode.but when i select one of the safe mode it read & come back to the safe mode again.no choice but to reinstall the window again.after it have loadup all the necessary & begin to setup the window it prompt out 'No hardisk found'.I have try many times and prompt out the same thing.so i decide to buy a new hardisk to install but still prompt out the same thing.Anyone out there any idea what is going on.Thanks!

anyway, what you should have done was try checking the boot option first.

if still happen then try fix/mbr using the windows cd. Can google for the complete steps needed.

Probably due to the missing SATA drivers. Try using nLite and build a new Windows installer CD with the drivers.

Disable The HDD AHCI mode and install Window.

You can install the AHCI Driver later after installing Win XP

Laptops are different from DIY desktop system, not every laptop allow the user to choose AHCI or no AHCI.

Use the recovery disc to perform system restore, vanilla WinXP disc won't detect SATA drive on AHCI mode.
