From the Singtel website, it seems that it costs 19.90 for SMBB as a VAS for only 1GB data...

But it costs only 22.42 for 30GB access (abit slower at 1MBps speed) for SMBB on laptop (http://home.singtel.com/bbmobile/)

I don't really want the higher speed against the larger data limit so the deal kinda sucks for me... I do download emails and my current average usage on a mobile broadband plan is around 2-5GB a month.

Any idea I can get the non VAS plan?

yes bbom as vas is more expensive but can u consider the following:
if u get bbom for laptop, everytime u want to use the internet on ur mobile phone, u need to switch sim card. and when u switch sim card, u cannot receive call or sms. that's the main reason why ppl are getting bbom as vos.

it depends on how u are using the bbom. if u are using it for iphone and u dun mind switching, get the bbom for laptop.

Was thinking of multi-sim then using 1 SIM to replace my current data plan and the other for my normal mobile needs....

Guess that is out of the question now.

Btw, prices for SMBB is raising up compared to a year ago. I got my subscription (1mbps 50GB free) data only for only $13 a month and have 50% off every even month for a 2 year subscription. Oh well

Use to allow Mobile phone (voice) customer to sign up the BBOM (the notebook plan) as VAS.

Until recently they change their policy. Now Notebook plan is notebook plan and VAS plan is VAS.

They getting smarter.. SMBB more popular due to iPhone now so prices go up and they seperate the plans...

I might think about it more. Too bad I havea contract still with Singtel for at least another year.

yes they are getting real smart by changing their bb plan.

but looking at three Telco i think or feel st vas plan most suck and non value for money

Totally agree.. Only telco not to have any price cap for exceeding of data... And it's original price for 1GB already higher than M1 original price of $16.05 (Promo price $9.95 now)..

Singtel seems to cap at $94.16 now. Still ex than the rest though.

those on vas bbom they will be offer a mailer
To change to a diff plan no more 50gb
But replace by 30gb

I just renew mine as i got a mailer from singtel
Ya ST is getting clever as more ppls pickup bbom or just bbom on laptop so they
Revise price range lor
Plus the fact iphone they got the rights to sell so must must get their vas bbom to enjoy it
Unless u get a no line iphone or swtich to a diff telco for broadband on the go lor

Most likely not.

Unless you just sign up recently, like 1 or 2 days ago.

And you call in to request.

Others who sign earlier may want to try their luck also.

But still cap at higher charge than Starhub and M1.

Waiting for my line contract to end, then switch to Starhub with number portability.

I rather stick with my 1mbps plan with 30GB cap at $15+ per month. Hopefully they won't change me to new plans.

Well, lucky the iPhone can use other telco SIM card.

Just the irritation SingTel customizations still exits when you cange the SIM card.

I don't mind if SingTel cap at $36.38 for VAS BBOM. I'll definitely sign up.

But they stubbornly refuse.

So no choice, consider switching to one that caps at much lower price.

Never know how much I will use and as Starhub said, No bill shock.

Personally I think it is a joke/embarrassment that they cannot match or better Starhub. Even M1 too.

LOL.
