Not sure why I keep getting this error, did I key anything wrong/missing?

Really very confuse with the 2 wire interface for port forward.
---I set my Ip camera to use the ip 192.168.1.81 and port 9888
---whenever I go to 2wire to port forward got this error

you already created another conflicting entry is it?

probably conflict ports; check other applications if they are already port fowarding the port range or change the port range for your IP cam.

some applications don't work very well with port mapping, the workaround would be to create a definition for each port i.e TCP - 9888, UDP - 9888, TCP - 9889, UDP - 9889

Are you hosting a web server already ? If not, use port 80 for the http port (in the DLINK cam settings), otherwiseu have to type :http://xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.:9998, very troublesome.

Have fun !

Thanks for the suggestion, it did solve my problem in a way.

Like to share it here.
I changed to another port (8182) for the ipcam and manage to set in in the
firewall.

Funny thing is when i used port 9888 earlier it didnt work and
never prompt me its being used by another system.

When I test by trying to use the new port 8182 for another system,
the modem is able to prompt me its being used by another program.
Seems to me the 9888 port being silently reserved? lol got such a thing?

Thanks for the advice.

Actually I have not figured out how to connecct to my cam
from outside network. (not very network literate :p)
Dont quite understand ur last paragraph though.

Im now accessing my ip cam at home by typing internal Ip 192.168.1.81:8182

Does it mean if im outside accessing internet from office,
I can access my cam my typing my singnet router external ip with the
port number I set for the IP cam? eg 121.7.179.56:8182

Still reading up...:)

The only hint u will get is the "An unknown error has occurred" if the port u selected is already forwarded.

If you know the hostname of the IP cam, u can directly type the hostname in the address bar to access the IP cam, I'm not sure about the DLINK cams cos I've not done them before but Axis cams can.

Goto www.portforward.com for some step by step instructions on portfowarding ... quite straight forward *pun intended* . A quick and easy way to know if the portforwarding was done correctly would be to use http://www.dyndns.com/support/tools/openport.html and key in the port that u wanna forward.

To access your cam from external network, usually people use dynamic DNS services (otherwise known as DDNS). U can sign up for a account at www.dyndns.org and select a unique hostname i.e instead of typing the IP address, u can type "http://myipcam.dyndns.org:xxxx" if using xxxx ports or just "http://myipcam.dyndns.org" if using port 80.

If u still need help, drop me a PM with the model of the cam u're using and i see what i can do.

Followed everything as above and finally view my cam from outside :D
