Does gigabit lan matter?

A lot of motherboards have integrated gigabit lan.
Do our ISPs support these speeds?

I'm currently using a board, the realtek 8201 network adapter is limited to 100MB. Is the board limiting my full possible throughput in any way?

ur NIC support 1gbps but ur other device leh?
switch/hub/router... ?they will fall back to the highest speed that both devices + the utp cable can support lor.

I don't use any fancy stuff
just cable connection to SCV
no router, nothing, so is the 100mb limit of my mainboard limiting the maximum possible?

i have no idea
using the default motorola modem and cable that SCV gives.
Direct from modem to PC.

If you are using the MOL100mbps with a SB61x0 modem then gigabit LAN will have a diff. Of coz every network equipment between your modem to your PC has to be gigabit capable.
