[Nid Help] Singnet Mio Box Experts please~ Help in watching PPStream...

I got two mio box (broadband plan only)...

Previously was using the new2701 hgv-e (white colour) but recently i changed over to my old 2700 hgv-2 (grey and black colour)

The reason for this change is bcoz the distance coverage for the new 2701 hgv-e is not good as the old 2700 hgv-2..

For example, using the new box i get 3 bars at my current location and it's affecting my download speed (can see from my graph the speed isnt constant).. However back to my old box i can get 5 bars.

Things is troubling me is that, the old 2700 hgv-2 doesnt seem to able to support PPStream at wifi mode... I tried with 2 different laptops to watch ppstream, it failed and the whole box sorta crashed giving the DSL error. When I try with the lan cable, the box is able to handle the PPstream connection and I am able to watch smoothly.... :s7::s7::s7:

Feel like changing back to the new 2701 box so that I am able to watch PPStream smoothly on wifi but the distance coverage is not good compared to the old 1... :mad::mad:

Any solutions guys (flash the old 2700 firmware??, any settings?) ??? :o

In what sense?

To me yes, cos I can surf net and play games smoothly with the 2700. Just that when watching PPStream via wifi, the whole modem just crash on me.

Whereas the 2701 wouldn't crash... But I am not willing to switch back as the wireless range is not acceptable for me..

My laptop has no issue of playing PPStream via wifi, i am sure of that.

why dont u try non 2wire since ur not tied to any voice or tv plan.

Any recommendation on what modem and/or router should I take, cost saving yet good bt/PPstream/gaming/coverage range?

Would be still the best if I can make the 2700 working with my PPStream thru firmware update or tweaking the settings :):)

Any 2700 user out there can try if PPStream is working via wifi?

Lan works but wifi does not work for ppstream. Does not look like modem issue. What error did you get from ppstream?

The whole modem just go "crashed" if i open a streaming link in PPStream...

Whereas, I used back my new modem.. No such issue...

I already isolated is the 2700 giving me problems.. I used two laptops to try out already, both doesnt work with 2700 and work with 2701.

PPStream works for me on LAN though.

Anyway 2wire wireless is no good for torrenting or p2p-ing...~

such problem call malifax technology, when got problem with modem, i just go exchange at malifax call singnet helpdesk also no use...

Under 2wire Firewall settings, 'wireless' Lan adapter and LAN adapter are TWO devices, so you got to portforward both!

Hi hippo, what is your wireless mode set on the 2700 modem ?
If its default b/g, why not try set to b only n give it a shot ? :s22:
