Hi folks,
Have anybody ever used uGotFile premium account ?
From their website, http://ugotfile.com/doc/faq/ they mentioned that they have an unique feature "remote upload" whereby they could retrieve contents from rapidshare, megaupload, hotfile and etc.
Does that mean, subscribing to "uGotFIle" can access to many others file hosting brands ? Anybody tried that ? How does it live up to it's claim ?
Thanks
Cheers,
P.S Realized that I created this thread on the wrong forum previously.

remote upload is not an unique feature
most of the filehosting sites have this basic function ... like rapidshare, megaupload etc.
If you want to retrieve a file from say rapidshare, you need rapidshare premium in order to remote upload from there.

Does that mean, I can subscirbe to only Rapidshare and able to access all other brands (e.g. Megaupload, hotfile & etc) for free ?
Thanks

Be careful with this host. It's the only download host where you're paying by means of a subscription. Money will be deducted automatically from your account monthly.

Most, if not all remote upload features need to be pointed directly to the location of the file. Which means you can't remote upload files directly from rapidshare links/megaupload links, because they'll just point you to the html file.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate. Now I understand what is remote access liao.
Chey, I thought uGotFile really special that could "subscibe 1 and access all" feature since their ads goes like Rapidshare + MegaUpload + Hotfile = uGotFile for $9.99 per month :(
Anyway, thanks.

Just to show the ads for "educational" purposes :

Guess, it's misleading :(

After checking out with a fellow uGotFile user in other forum, indeed, they do allow remote upload from Megaupload, Hotfile, Rapidshare and etc. However, there's a catch to it meaning they will limit the amount of traffic (per day) for such activities as follow :
Rapidshare - 2GB
MegaUpload - 20GB
Hotfile - 4GB
Infact, I started to play around the remote upload feature on Rapidshare and below is my finding :
1. It does work for Megaupload & Hotfile (so far only tested 2 file hosting which I do not have any subsciption with them)
2. Speeds varies at different files and different host
3. So far, no known traffic limit imposed by Rapidshare other than stating it only allows 300 remote upload jobs at any given time. And it also prohibit filesize greater than 200MB to be transferred. For example, MegaUpload do allow their user to upload with a filesize up to 1GB. Thus, in such scenario, remote upload from MU->RS will not work due to the filesize limit.
4. Troublesome to execute if there are alot of MU or HF links. You have to click on the MU link and they will direct you to another page where you need to key in the "shown" characters and wait for about 45 secs. Thereafter, a download link will be available for you to copy & paste into RS remote upload box. Imagine you have to do that for 100 links, well, that's take a little more effort and patience to do that.
So far for now.

Further update to the remote upload traffic :
Total remote upload tarffic per day is 2GB. The way to compute the traffic is as follow (kinda of complicated) and thus, I used example :
Division Factor
Rapidshare - 1
Megaupload - 10
Hotfile - 2
Computation = total filesize downloaded / division factor
Scenario A :
Remote upload 2GB from Rapidshare to uGotFile. That's all for the day ! You can't remote anymore from anywhere else :( The calculation is as follow 2GB / 1 = 2GB
Scenario B :
Remote upload 20GB from MegaUpload to uGotFile.
Calculation = 20GB / 10 = 2GB
Scenario C :
Remote upload 1GB from Rapidshare to uGotFile -> 1GB / 1 = 1GB
Remote upload 10GB from MegaUpload to uGotFile -> 10GB / 10 = 1GB
Thus, total traffic per day = 2GB
Scenario D :
Remote upload 1GB from Rapidshare to uGotFile -> 1GB / 1 = 1GB
Remote upload 5GB from MegaUpload to uGotFile -> 5GB / 10 = 0.5GB
Remote upload 1GB from Hotfile to uGotFile -> 1GB / 2 = 0.5GB
Thus, total traffic per day = 2GB
Not worth it if you download mainly from Rapidshare. However, if you are mainly downloading from MegaUpload and abit of Rapidshare & Hotfile, then it may worth the trouble.
Hope it helps.
