Udinese 0 - 0 Juventus
Stadio Friuli
Juve's crisis continues with a disappointing goalless draw at Udinese's Stadio Friuli and some controversial refereeing.
Juventus have lost their last three games in all competitions and are in desperate need of a victory. David Trezeguet and Enzo Maresca return after several weeks out with a shoulder and back injury respectively, while Antonio Conte is suspended.
Udinese have a very poor record against the Bianconeri in this Stadium and their overall home form this season has been disappointing. Luciano Spalletti had lost all eight of his previous encounters with Juventus and finally broke that taboo.
Nonetheless, the Friuli outfit had the first scoring opportunity after four minutes when Gianluigi Buffon was at full stretch to fingertip Marek Jankulovski's angled drive round the upright.
Juve fought back and on 15 minutes Morgan De Sanctis rushed off his line to block Enzo Maresca's finish at the near post following good build-up play from Pavel Nedved.
Soon after Maresca had another good chance, his volley deflected over the bar by some brave defending, while Nedved's free header was off target.
Marcello Lippi's men began to dominate as the first half wore on and Maresca's brilliant solo effort skimmed the crossbar.
There was a great deal of controversy just before the break when Ciro Ferrara clattered into Martin Jorgensen as he prepared to head the ball in a dangerous position. Udinese had penalty appeals rejected as the referee waved play on.
Maresca and Nedved continued to get themselves into good positions, but their finishing left something to be desired.
Lippi made a change in the second half, introducing Igor Tudor in place of Nicola Legrottaglie as the ex-Chievo player is suffering from a muscular problem.
Udinese had a good scoring opportunity early on when David Pizarro's delightful chipped pass found an alert Buffon before Giampiero Pinzi could pounce.
The Friuli side had the best chance of the whole game on 54 minutes when a corner kick was pushed towards the goal by Felipe's knee and brought a stunning reaction save out of Buffon.
On the resulting corner it came out to Jankulovski and his fierce deflected drive slammed the woodwork to Buffon's right.
Maresca was among Juve's most lively players, but is still not 100 per cent fit and made way for another long-term injury Alessandro Birindelli.
Alessio Tacchinardi had an excellent attempt from long range that was beaten away with some difficulty by De Sanctis, but Trezeguet was offside as he prepared to go for the loose ball.
Udinese needed more firepower and threw on top scorer Dino Fava for the ineffective Lucas Castroman. Giampiero Pinzi was forced off with a split lip following an accidental collision with Birindelli.
There was more bad news for the home side in the closing stages, as Iaquinta pulled up with a muscular problem, while Marco Di Vaio replaced a very disappointing Nedved.
Juventus nearly gave away a disastrous counter-attack in the final minute when Gianluca Pessotto dived in for a crucial tackle on Fava in the box, but the defender escaped without even a booking for what can only be described as a rugby tackle on Jorgensen in the early stages of that move.
It was the latest in several controversial decisions by Tiziano Pieri and controversy will no doubt follow this match.
Udinese: De Sanctis; Bertotto, Kroldrup, Felipe; Pazienza, Pinzi (Rossitto 70), Pizarro, Jankulovski; Castroman (Fava 70), Jorgensen; Iaquinta (Alberto 78)
Juventus: Buffon; Ferrara, Thuram, Legrottaglie (Tudor 46), Pessotto; Camoranesi, Maresca (Birindelli 59), Tacchinardi, Appiah; Nedved (Di Vaio 85); Trezeguet

David Pizarro has finally come out into the open and confirmed he wants to join Juventus next season.
?I owe a great deal to Udinese,? said the 24-year-old, ?as they allowed me to mature as a professional. But I think this is the time for me to test myself at the top level and Juventus would be fantastic.?
The Chilean midfielder has been heavily linked with Lazio and Inter over the last year, but now insists his destination will be Turin.
?I know of Juve?s interest in me,? he continued, ?and Udinese owner Pozzo knows how I feel about this. I hope he listens to my wishes.?
Pizarro?s rapport with the Friuli side has been particularly tense over the last few months when he refused to sign a new contract.
The player was frozen out of the squad for a month and allowed back in after he put pen to paper on an extended deal, but has not given up on his dream of a big club in the 2004-05 campaign.

GREAT NEWS!!!
Juventus have already begun their renovation with the probable arrival of Udinese and Czech Republic star Marek Jankulovski.
The 26-year-old midfielder has long been a target for the Bianconeri, although they faced stiff competition from Inter and Lazio.
According to the latest reports a basic agreement has been thrashed out between director generals Luciano Moggi and Pierpaolo Marino.
Udinese would receive £5.5m cash, plus 50 per cent of Under-21 internationals Giuseppe Sculli and Andrea Gasbarroni.
Hitman Sculli is currently on loan with Chievo, while winger Gasbarroni is starring for Serie B leaders Palermo.
Jankulovski is set to hit the headlines with the Czech Republic at Euro 2004 and has already become a set-piece specialist in the Italian Championship.

Sunday's match most probably sealed the fate of this season's Serie A title race, with Milan imposing themselves over eternal rivals Juventus thanks to an important 3-1 away win. Everything went in favour of the rossoneri with Roma drawing in the afternoon away to Reggina and Ancelotti's squad winning a well-played match against Lippi's team.
The match itself was a good advertisement for Serie A and those who think that Italian football is boring are probably those who do not watch it at all. Both teams played offensive and entertaining football with a high number of goal scoring opportunities for each side. One can see that this is Milan's year as even in the moment of difficulty they are able to get the most with the least work.
Sunday was an example of this as during Juventus' best moment when they were pressing hard and creating good chances, Milan hit back and scored to take the lead. The bianconeri had many players missing, especially in the forward line, and in fact their high number of chances seemed toothless whereas Milan always looked dangerous when going forward. Overall a draw would have been fairer but Milan proved they are one of the best teams in the world by being able to win games that other teams would have not been able to win.
This match leaves both teams in a different situation and looking at different objectives now. Milan can relax a bit more now in Serie A as they hold a 7 point advantage over closest challengers Roma and 9 points over the same Juventus. This will probably mean that Ancelotti will use the turnover extensively before any Champions League match, starting from next Saturday against Parma to rest his key players for the Deportivo clash.
This might in a way give a glimmer of hope to the challengers who still hope Milan might slip up in the next rounds when the Champions League is at its hottest and the player's focus would be mostly on the European Cup rather than the Italian league. Ancelotti in the past had already squandered a 9-point lead when in the 1999/2000 season his Juve had lost the Scudetto on the last day to Lazio, so the rossoneri coach will not be counting his chickens yet.
However this Milan side not only wins matches, but they win them in a very convincing and spectacular way, with Kaka, Shevcenko and Seedorf proving deadly upfront and the duo Nesta and Maldini being unbeatable in defence. Theoretically the rossoneri can achieve 91 points if they keep on winning and that would be an incredible achievement for any team. In previous years, it was said that a team needed to reach the 70 points mark to be guaranteed the Scudetto, but with the three teams on top marching on better than in pervious years, the 70 point mark has been raised to 80 poins this season. Milan already have 64 points, thus winning 5 of the last 9 matches will guarantee them the Scudetto which has been missing since the 1998/99 season.
The diavoli can now concentrate mostly on claiming a second consecutive Champions League, and with a favourable draw, the final does not seem far away. Probably Milan are currently Europe's best and most entertaining team to watch but a sudden dip in form might ruin their objectives, as during the span of a whole season, no team is actually able to hold on to their good form and sooner or later all teams pass through a bad patch. Whether this will happen or not to Milan remains to be seen, but if they keep playing this way, their fans should have nothing to worry about.
In Italy there is a very thin line between failure and success and as long as you keep winning then you are hailed as the best. However, one bad season makes the critics forget all the good that was made and you are degraded to being called a bad team and coach. This is the case of Juventus, who during the Lippi era, in 8 years full of successes both domestically and internationally, the bianconeri failed to win anything only in one season while in all other seasons they ended up taking home at least one important trophy.
This season might be another case of a winless one, though there still is the Coppa Italia which if they win, would mean that they reach the 10th win in this competition. They also have the 2nd place in the league to look forward to and therefore their season is far from over. Lippi's main worry is the number of injured players which might dent the team's objectives, but as proved yesterday, Juve's strength relies in the personality and strong character of a team that never gives up no matter the situation.
Whatever the final outcome of the season, Juventus will need to have a well thought self-analysis and see where it all went wrong. Objectively, Juventus in Serie A are moving at the same pace of last season, so it just proves that the bianconeri have not underperformed overall in the Italian league. Their main faults were not winning any direct clash and not having a solid defence as in previous years.
And that's where Moggi comes into play. Juve's General Manager knows his team and football in general and will have already targetted what to do to get the team back on top as during the Moggi-Lippi era, there have never been two consecutive unsuccesful years which proves that the club knows how to remedy to mistakes made in the previous season.
New names that could be joining the Juve side next season are many, most of which are defenders. But many players might be leaving too, including Nedved or Trezeguet as for the first time in 10 years, the club is in debt and will need a major sale to boost their income. However Juve fans should not worry as in one way or another they will get back to the top of Italian football and this season will be just a flash in the pan for the bianconeri troops. In the mean time they can admire Milan and admit that this season is painted in rossoneri colours, hoping that next year will be different.

knn...Bayern go away lah...
Bayern Munich have joined Juventus in the chase for Bayer Leverkusen central defender Lucio.
The Brazilian international is expected to quit his club this summer, despite having a contract until 2007, and Bayern are keen on his signature.
The German giants have had another disappointing season and they are looking to strengthen a suspect defence.
However, Juventus have also been linked with the stopper after their problems at the back this term.
Lucio was first associated with the Turin club last summer after he turned down a £10m move to Roma.
It was thought that the Delle Alpi side had gained an option on the World Cup winner but it is unclear at this stage whether they are still interested.
Reports suggest that clubs such as Real Madrid and Chelsea are also in the race to sign the South American.
Meanwhile, Juve are again being linked with a summer swoop for Ternana ace Luis Jimenez.
The 19-year-old could be signed and then immediately offered to Lazio in a bid to snatch Stefano Fiore from the capital club.
The Italian international is a top target for the Bianconeri, especially as he has scored five goals past them in his last four games.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alberto Gilardino are likely to be targeted by Juventus if David Trezeguet is sold.
Rumours persist that the Frenchman (pictured) will join Barcelona and he will evidently need to be replaced.
It is believed that Juve have already agreed to sell Trezeguet to the Spaniards at the end of this season for £20m.
That money will be invested on a younger and cheaper striker, with Ibrahimovic and Gilardino heavily linked with the side in the past.
The Swedish international is keen to leave Ajax for a bigger club and a summer switch may occur. He?s valued at around £8m.
Gilardino though is also highly thought of in Turin after his exploits at Parma so far this season.
The Under-21 ace has really impressed, especially as he has adequately replaced Adriano at the Stadio Tardini.
Meanwhile, whispers in Turin insist that Marco Di Vaio is on the verge of signing a contract extension.
The striker, mainly used as a substitute for Trezeguet and Alex Del Piero this term, will put pen to paper on an agreement that will keep him with the club until 2009.

Oh pls pls extent his contract!!!
Enzo Maresca has responded to rumours linking him with a transfer by insisting he wants to stay at Juventus for life.
Speculation has suggested that the player could be used as bait in the summer market but Maresca is focused on remaining in Turin.
"I would stay here for the rest of my career if it was up to me," said the talented midfielder. "Obviously it is up to the club to decide.
"This season I started on the bench but gradually played more and more. I hope to have even more space in the future.
"It is just important for me that the club believes in me. I have a contract until 2005 and we are discussing an extension. I believe in the club?s future plans."
Maresca has had a positive campaign until he became just one of a number of players to get injured.
"We?ve been unlucky that we had so many injuries at such a crucial part of the season," said Maresca when he was asked about Juve?s problems this term.
"Even sides like Roma would struggle if players like Totti, Emerson and Samuel were all unavailable at the same time.
"But we just need to concentrate on finishing this season in second place and hope to overturn our 2-0 first leg loss in the Coppa Italia Final against Lazio."
The former West Brom and Piacenza player was also asked to comment on rumours that he may be called into the Italy squad.
"I?ve heard certain voices and I obviously hope that they come true," he added. "Playing for the Azzurri is an objective of mine."
Maresca, a former Under-21 international, could be included for the first time in the Portugal friendly next week.

Monaco boss Didier Deschamps has again commented on claims that he will become the next Juventus boss.
The Frenchman is being tipped to take over from Marcello Lippi (pictured) next season but he?s not giving too much away.
"We?ll just have to wait and see what happens," he said after his side lost 4-2 at Real Madrid last night.
"I still have one year left on my contract with Monaco and I?m happy here. This is the situation right now."
However, there are some who believe that the tactician is too inexperienced to Coach the Old Lady.
"This is not the right time for him to take charge of Juventus," Bianconeri legend Michel Platini said recently.
"He could certainly be an option in a few years time but I don?t think he is ready right now for Italy.
"It is one thing to be in charge of a club like Monaco and quite another Coaching in Turin, where there is great pressure on and off the pitch.
"Before he goes and sits on the bench at the Delle Alpi he needs to gain a little more experience."
Speculation is mounting that Lippi could take charge of the Italian national side after the 2004 European Championships.
But Deschamps is not the only contender to take over at the club. Parma?s Cesare Prandelli and Gigi Del Neri of Chievo are also possible targets.

The Spanish media are now convinced that Juventus ace David Trezeguet will be wearing the Barcelona shirt next term.
Reports over the past week suggest that a £20m fee has been agreed and details of his proposed contract have been revealed today.
The French international will allegedly get at least £2.5m a season. That figure will increase depending on the number of games he plays for the club.
The Nou Camp outfit confirmed earlier this month that they were interested in the former Monaco ace.
Although Juventus have insisted that he will remain with them, the fact that he has yet to sign a new contract in Turin has fuelled speculation.
Trez?s present deal at the Delle Alpi expires in 2005. If he doesn?t agree new terms in the next few months then a sale at the end of this season will occur.
With Trezeguet seemingly on his way out, Juventus are being linked with a number of strikers who could replace him.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Ajax, Lazio target man Bernardo Corradi and Parma youngster Alberto Gilardino have all been associated.
But some reports today claim that Christian Vieri could return to the club with doubts over his Inter future.
The only problem is that Vieri?s salary demands don?t fit in with the Bianconeri?s wage structure. The Azzurri ace nets somewhere in the region of £5m-a-season.

Veteran defender Ciro Ferrara has signed a one-year contract extension with Italian giants Juventus.
The club are set to rejuvenate their defence over the summer but the 37-year-old will remain in the squad.
"I?ve already signed the contract which will keep me here until 2005," said the stopper. "All that is missing is the signature of (director general) Luciano Moggi."
The Juventus rearguard has been heavily criticised this term but Ferrara still has the faith of the Bianconeri board.
"I?m happy because this shows that the club still believes in me and my ability," he added. "I can still be of use to this side."
Ferrara has been at the Stadio Delle Alpi since his 1994 move from home town club Napoli. And he expects many of his teammates to remain despite speculation of a mass clear out.
"I don?t think there will be a revolution in the summer and I believe that boss Marcello Lippi will also remain," he added.
Ferrara will stay with Juventus when he finally does retire. He has already agreed terms to work as a club official.

The Juventus injury list is getting shorter as Gianluca Zambrotta is now available for selection again.
The Italian international has been out of action for the past month and he?s been really missed.
However, the left-back has resumed training this week and he is expected to feature against Modena on Sunday.
David Trezeguet, Enzo Maresca and Alessandro Birindelli are also set to play at the Delle Alpi after their recent fitness problems.
There may be a new face on the right wing with the introduction of youth team player Davide Chiumiento.
The Swiss teenager was fielded in midfield instead of Mauro Camoranesi in Thursday?s training session.
Juventus probable against Modena: Buffon; Birindelli, Thuram, Ferrara, Zambrotta; Camoranesi (Chiumiento), Maresca, Tacchinardi, Nedved; Trezeguet, Di Vaio

Juventus insist that boss Marcello Lippi will still be in charge next season, but they have opened the door for Didier Deschamps.
"Lippi is staying here with us but Deschamps could be the future," director general Luciano Moggi is quoted as saying.
"Didier was one of my players and we often talk to each other. He has a bright career ahead of him and I hope to bring him back here one day. But not next season."
Rumours in Italy suggest that Lippi, who has a contract until 2005, could quit the club in the summer to take charge of the Italian national side.
That led to stories suggesting that Monaco boss Deschamps, who played under Lippi, was a leading contender to take over.
The media also believe that the club are set for a summer revolution after a disappointing campaign. But Moggi has cooled the numerous reports.
"People claim that we have already bought Olivier Kapo (Auxerre) but that is not true," he added. "If we think he is a good player then we could look at him."
Juve have also been linked with Auxerre defender Phillipe Mexes. "He is an interesting player and very young too," continued the transfer guru.
Moggi added that Juve are keeping an eye on Parma striker Alberto Gilardino, said to be a possible replacement for David Trezeguet.
Yet the Bianconeri official has hit back at claims that the Frenchman is set for a summer move to Barcelona. "We are not selling Trezeguet or Pavel Nedved," concluded Moggi.

Juventus-Modena
Stadio Delle Alpi
New Modena boss Gianfranco Bellotto could not have asked for a tougher debut game as he visits struggling giants Juventus.
The Bianconeri have not reacted well to their injury crisis and now find themselves eleven points adrift of leaders Milan, not to mention out of the Champions? League and 2-0 down in the first leg of the Coppa Italia. It shows how far the level of confidence has dropped that Marcello Lippi was happy with a 0-0 draw away to Udinese last week ? a result that ended a run of three straight defeats in all competitions.
The return of David Trezeguet failed to make much impact, but Enzo Maresca is a valuable element of a midfield otherwise short on creativity and invention. The injury list remains extensive with Mark Iuliano, Gianluca Zambrotta, Alessandro Del Piero, Fabrizio Miccoli, Paolo Montero and maybe even Nicola Legrottaglie on the treatment table. The defence is reshuffled once again with Igor Tudor settling into a central role.
Modena slipped into the bottom four with a surprise 2-1 home defeat to Reggina and that result cost Alberto Malesani his job. The tactician was in the balance for several weeks and his sacking did not come as a surprise. The trident attack of Fabio Vignaroli, Diomansy Kamara and Stephen Makinwa had created more goals, but left the team hopelessly unbalanced and open to the counter-attack.
Former Venezia Coach Gianfranco Bellotto will be expected to bolster the defence for this difficult trip to Turin, so Vignaroli could make way for John Mensah. Nicola Amoruso will hope to be fit in time to face his former club, but Omar Milanetto is out after limping off during the Reggina game.
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Thuram, Ferrara, Tudor, Pessotto; Camoranesi, Maresca, Tacchinardi, Appiah; Nedved; Trezeguet
Modena (probable): Zancope; Pivotto, Pavan, Grandoni, Balestri; Campedelli, Milanetto, Music, Mensah; Kamara, Makinwa

Juventus 3 - 1 Modena
Maresca 57 (J), Trezeguet 63, 82 (J), Marazzina 66 (M)
Stadio Delle Alpi
A David Trezeguet brace ensured Juventus can snatch second place off defeated Roma, but it was another less than convincing display.
New Modena boss Gianfranco Bellotto made his debut on the bench by facing reigning Italian Champions Juventus. The former Venezia Coach took over the squad this week after Alberto Malesani was sacked and faced a tough task to stop the Canarini sliding into Serie B.
Juve's last remaining objective for the campaign is to take second place off Roma and they were at last able to welcome back Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessandro Birindelli from injury.
The Bianconeri were aggressive but ineffective, and Alessio Tacchinardi burst through a sea of bodies, but his shot was off target from six yards.
Soon after Enzo Maresca's free kick curled inches over the bar, while Marco Di Vaio's bicycle-kick was well saved.
There was bad news for the Bianconeri, as Ciro Ferrara limped off after 25 minutes to be replaced by Igor Tudor.
Modena also went close with a Stephen Makinwa counter-attack, but Gianluigi Buffon was able to block his angled drive.
The best chance for Juventus came just before the break, as Adriano Zancope' got down well to turn a Zambrotta effort round the post.
At the dawn of the second half Zancope scrambled across the goal to fingertip Maresca's precise free kick on to the woodwork.
Juventus eventually broke through the Modena wall on 57 minutes, as Maresca rose to nod in a Mauro Camoranesi corner kick, although Zancope could perhaps have done better.
The Bianconeri's second goal arrived in similar circumstances, as another Camoranesi corner was touched on by Tacchinardi for David Trezeguet's header.
But Modena got back into the match on 67 minutes through a looping Massimo Marazzina header that slipped into the bottom corner past Buffon's outstretched hand. The former Chievo striker had only just stepped on to the field as a substitute.
Juve rather sat on their slender lead and Diomansy Kamara nearly grabbed an equaliser when his shot was deflected just past the upright.
The Canarini refused to give in and Buffon performed a good save on Kamara and Nicola Campedelli's follow-up was charged down.
But Trezeguet sealed up the points in the closing stages with a very controversial goal. The Frenchman turned in Nedved's pass, but replays suggest he was clearly offside.
Juventus: Buffon; Birindelli, Thuram, Ferrara (Tudor 25), Zambrotta; Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Maresca (Pessotto 73); Nedved; Trezeguet, Di Vaio (Appiah 53)
Modena: Zancope; Mayer, Grandoni, Pavan, Ponzo (Campedelli 67); Marasco, Vignaroli, Domizzi (Scoponi 88), Balestri; Kamara, Makinwa (Marazzina 65)

Marcello Lippi believes the Scudetto is in Milan?s hands and Juve?s new aim is to snatch second place from Roma.
?The Rossoneri are doing extraordinary things this season and although we are not mathematically ruled out, I?d say the Scudetto is no longer an issue.?
Lippi has won the Italian title for the last two years running, but the eleven-point gap has all but eliminated them from the race.
?Taking second place is crucial for our future,? insisted the Coach. ?Avoiding the Champions? League preliminary round means being able to prepare ourselves properly for the next season.?
The club?s fitness regime has come under fire following a series of muscular injuries to the squad, but Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessandro Birindelli are back for Sunday?s match with Modena.
That is not the only good news, as Zambrotta has officially extended his contract with Juventus until 2008, scotching rumours of a move to Barcelona.
?This is an important factor, even if we can?t risk everyone from the start,? he explains. ?Modena are a good squad, but we want more than a victory. We must be utterly convincing.?
He even announced the starting eleven for that tie as Buffon, Birindelli, Ferrara, Thuram, Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Maresca, Nedved, Di Vaio and Trezeguet.
Many newspapers in Italy maintain that Lippi will not be there to lead them through the summer, but he cuts short any discussion on the matter.
?I still have another year left on my contract,? he assures. ?That is all I need to say.?

Juventus are said to be eyeing up Walter Samuel and Fernando Cavenaghi to kick-start their new-look squad next season.
The defence has been the main weak point for the Bianconeri this year and reinforcements re needed for their ageing back line.
Although Parma youngsters Matteo Ferrari and Daniele Bonera are the main targets, it is now reported that a swoop is being prepared for Walter Adrian Samuel.
The 26-year-old Roma star has been very impressive since arriving from Argentina and could be sold off in order to help cut their debts.
Real Madrid were previously linked to the defender, but Juventus could leap in with a bid first.
It is believed that young talents such as Matteo Brighi, Manuele Blasi and Giuseppe Sculli ? all owned by the Bianconeri but currently on loan to other clubs ? could be used as part of the deal.
Meanwhile, the long-standing links between Juventus and Fernando Cavenaghi could be about to take an important step forward.
?If Juventus sigh Cavenaghi then it will certainly not be a mistake,? assures former Bianconeri star and South American talent scout Omar Sivori.
?He is still only 20 years old, but already scored 49 goals in 79 games with River Plate. I don?t think there?s another young striker like him in the world right now.?
A new forward is expected to arrive as a replacement for the Barcelona-bound David Trezeguet in the summer.
?If Trezeguet does leave,? continued Sivori, ?then Cavenaghi would be an excellent substitute. He is physically strong and has an EC passport as his grandfather is Italian.?

Barcelona have struck agreements over personal terms with three of their summer transfer targets.
Juventus striker David Trezeguet, Real Sociedad winger Lopez Rekarte and Deportivo La Coruna forward Alberto Luque have all given their approval to contracts offered by Barca management.
However, the Spanish giants still need to open talks with the players' respective clubs over transfer fees.
Trezeguet is said to have already settled on playing for Barca next season, with talks at an advanced stage with his Dad, who also acts as his agent, and Italian intermediary Antonio Caliendo.
Barca are considering offering Juve £15 million cash, plus a player worth £10 million on the open market. Gabri, Thiago Motta and Xavi have all been mentioned as possible candidates in a swap.
Barca could have signed Real Sociedad wing-back Rekarte in the summer for nothing, but failed to make an offer during presidential elections. The left-sided player now has a contract to 2007 and Real won't budge from doing business for anything less than £4 million.
Luque's move to the Nou Camp is complicated over his registration being shared between Depor and Real Mallorca. The player's father and agent have reportedly agreed terms with Barca, but nothing has moved forward as far as club-to-club talks are concerned.

hmm......best if we can him and still keep Thuram..
March 29, 2004
Juventus are offering Real Madrid defender Lilian Thuram in exchange for striker Fernando Morientes.
Spanish international centre-forward Morientes is currently on-loan at AS Monaco and is being lined up by Juve as a replacement for David Trezeguet.
Indeed, Italian press reports suggest Monaco coach Didier Deschamps has recommended Morientes to Juve ahead of his summer return to Turin.
Meanwhile, Juve chief Luciano Moggi has baulked at Real's £7 million asking price for the striker, instead offering veteran defender Thuram in a straight swap.

Welcome Kapo!! :)
Auxerre ace Olivier Kapo will have a medical in Turin today after admitting that Juventus had swooped for him.
Reports earlier this month claimed that he had signed a pre-contract with the Bianconeri and he?s confirmed those stories.
"I can now say that I will be a Juventus player," the attacking midfielder is quoted as saying. "Contact was made about a month ago.
"I was in Turin on March 9 on the eve of the game against Deportivo La Coruna. However, nothing will be concluded until I pass the medical."
The 23-year-old was a target for a host of European clubs given the fact that he will be a free agent in the summer.
But the French international didn?t hesitate in choosing the Old Lady. "Juve are a prestigious outfit," he added.
"I?ll be playing alongside stars such as Alex Del Piero, champions who will only help me in my career."
Rumours suggest that Kapo, who has scored three goals in eight internationals, has agreed a four-year deal.
Kapo has also revealed that Marcello Lippi, as many people in Italy already suspect, won?t be Coaching him.
"I?m good friends with Didier Deschamps but Juve haven?t told me that he will be the boss," he told L?Equipe. "However, they have said that Lippi won?t be there."
Monaco?s Deschamps has been hotly tipped with the job and he believes he has the necessary ability.
"I feel ready to Coach a club like Juventus," the tactician told Controcampo today. "I?m happy at Monaco and I still have a year left on my contract. But contracts can be broken."
However, Monaco President Pierre Svara is confident that Deschamps will not only remain but extend his current agreement.

Marcello Lippi insists that he will only consider his future with Juventus at the end of this season.
Speculation suggests that the tactician is on his way out but the Coach isn?t giving anything away.
"For now I?m thinking about ending this campaign," he said. "In June, I will meet with the club and we will decide what to do."
The former Napoli and Inter boss has been linked with the Italy job after the 2004 European Championships. And he?s keen on the idea.
"I would obviously like to take charge of the Azzurri at some point," he explained. "I don?t think there is any Coach that wouldn?t."
Lippi?s Juventus got back to winning ways on Sunday with a 3-1 win over Modena to go second in the Division.
"It is now our primary objective to end the season in second place," he added. "Even if we are keeping an eye on Milan too."
One of the architects behind the victory at the Delle Alpi was Enzo Maresca, who could be a real star of the next Juventus. "He is a player that will remain with us," concluded Lippi.

This match has clearly shown how Trezeguet is important for the team. We clearly missed him when injured and Di Vaio didn't exactly set the stadia on fire.
Like him or not, Treze is one of the most clinical strikers in the world. He may seem vanished from a match but with one touch he could well turn it around. At times he doesn't receive any service from the midfielders and too many fans blame him for not trying much. But I tend to disagree. As a striker, his job is to convert chances to goals, not to roam the midfield and try to create chances and then score goals. Treze is not that type of a player.
After watching Edgar leave for Barca I would really hate for Treze to follow suit. Alberto Gilardino? Please. The guy is promising but nowhere near Treze. He can remain as his understudy for some time, but couldn't possibly replace him for good.

Buffon: Another Good display for him. Did some good saves and was very sure in the air.
Ferrara: Did too little , but the few minutes he was on the pitch was beaten by makunkula.
Birindelli: Average performance at max. Did some mistakes at the back and few tough tackels.
Thuram: Was ok, but better performance in comparison with the last games. After a Camoransi´s error, he did the tackle of the game just a second before a helpless buffon was already beaten.
Pessoto: Did his work. Lippi did the right choice here because in that moment both teams were attacking too much and leaving the defence too disorganized.
Zambrotta: WE missed this guy. His runs thrugh the left flank were a constant problem to modena´s defence line. He did a good tackle in front of the goal, when a modena striker tried to do an overhead kick too close of buffon. Good game for zambro.
Tachinardi: Good passes sometimes, but in other occations did some mistakes and lose the ball.
Appiah: I dont know about this guy,.,, i mean.. he have a very good footwork but his passes and shots leave a lot to desire. Today he improved his performance thou. Did a good display in one occation when juventus was pressed in their area, he started the counter with class. Maybe he need another oppotunity next season.
Maresca: A good performance overall. His passes were very good, and maybe the best in attack together with camoranesi. Good header and it seems that he have great skill in taking freekickcs... just need to practice more. A bit overexcited sometimes and his change was spot on because he was too tired. It seems that he cant end a match.
Camoranesi: Another "gemini" performance from him. IN some occations did very good dribbles, passes and crosses... but in others, lost the ball too much and leaving the defence opened up.
It seemed that the Modena´s defenders were not marking him, because he did all what he wanted in modena´s area. He was very atcive today.
Nedved: Not his best peformance. Wasted too many good chances to pass, and it seems that he doesnt want to shoot to the goal. He needs to improve but was very active today ruunig all over the field.
Di Vaio: I think he was the worst on the pitch. Did some moves which ended in nothing. Too many offsides. Had a shot ong oal with an overhead kick, which was very good... but nothing more.
Trezeguet: He was totally absent in the first half..... maybe even the whole match, but like the great poacher he is, he was when needed to score. Wasted one real chance in front of the keeper but was not his fault, the keeper did well there.Wasted another chance with a header, but was a good try. His secodn goal was offside... but he managed to solve the play very well.
Lippi: His changes were accurated today!.

let's grab him at a reasonable price if we can..
Parma captain Matteo Ferrari has put himself on the transfer market given the uncertain future of the club.
The Gialloblu are looking for a new owner after major backers Parmalat pulled out earlier this season, following their financial collapse.
That has led to reports that a host of the outfit?s best players are to be sold and Ferrari is hoping to be one of them.
"It?s getting tough at Parma," said the 25-year-old, who should play against Portugal this evening.
"We are going through some very difficult times and we don?t even know for sure whether the club will survive.
"Given the situation, I would be happy if another club comes forward to sign me."
Ferrari was heavily linked with a January move to Juventus but no agreement could be reached between the two sides.
The Bianconeri are set to renew their interest at the end of the season but they do have a number of other defensive options.
Another player that is definitely set to leave Parma is goalkeeper Sebastien Frey. "At this moment in time a move to Arsenal is most likely," revealed his agent Vincenzo Morabito.
There have been reports that Inter may also be interested but Morabito claimed that the player would probably leave Italy.

GREAT NEWS!!
David Trezeguet will not join Barcelona in the summer says Juventus transfer guru Luciano Moggi.
Reports in Spain insists that a £20m fee has already been agreed but the Bianconeri official maintains that is not true.
"There has been no contact with the Catalan club and therefore no negotiations are taking place," he told Radio Barcelona.
"It is highly possible that Barca are interested in the player but there is an abyss between that and a sale.
"A lot of clubs are keen on Trezeguet but I can guarantee that we will not be selling him. He will remain with Juventus."
There are doubts over the French international?s future in Turin given his current contract situation.
He is only tied to the Delle Alpi outfit until 2005 and no agreement has yet been reached over an extension.
That means the Old Lady must offer him a new deal before the start of next term or they run the risk of losing him for nothing next year.
Meanwhile, contract talks are continuing between the club and young midfielder Enzo Maresca.
His present deal also expires in 2005 but reports claim that an agreement should be reached, possibly after Easter.

To be honest, I thought this year would be the last year before winning something big, however it provde to be a disastorous season.
While our aging "defence" has been well documented for our failures this year, I like to focus attention on different aspect on the team.
Our core players are simply not good enough and too old.
Essentially, this follows on from my philosophy that results are generally determined by key players not "role" players, especially the case in the long run.
Here is my comparison between key players between Milan, Roma and Juve
Milan
Nesta, Maldini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Kaka, Sheva
Roma
Totti, Cassano, Emerson, Chivu, Samuels, Mancini
Juve
Buffon, Thuram, Del Piero, Trezeguet, Nedved
There are three things to point out from this comparsion
1) Juve core is older than Milan's and considerably so compared to Roma's, which means that while our performance should deterioate in the long run while both Milan and Roma should improve even more given that they can keep these players together.
2) The key players are well balanced throughout the team in Milan and Roma's case, whereas in Juve's case it is concerntrated in attack and defence. And after all, exception of Enzo Maresca, our midfield has been less than impressive. And fortunately for our midfielders ( unfortunately for us ) they have been saved by even worse performance by our defence which bordered on being "pathetic" at times.
3) While our key players match Milan and Roma's in terms of fame, they are players that reached their peak and now I believe inferior to our rivals. Nesta, Chivu, Samuels are superior to Thuram, and Kaka, Sheva, Totti or even Cassano on current form is more productive than Nedved or Alex.
As cruel as it to say and I hate to admit this but Juve as a team is simply not good enough at this moment. After all, can we produce ebb and flow style of Milan and Roma? Can we defend as solidly as they can? Do our strikers score more goals than theirs?
The bottom line is we are not good enough as a "team".
If Moggi wants to rebuild the team then it should start with realization of this fact and this has several signifcance.
Firstly, I believe we need a manager with new ideas. Lippi is fantastic coach regardless of this season, but what we need is a coach who can bring different perspectives. Deschamp would be my priority if I was Moggi.
Secondly, we need fresh blood throughout the team not just in defence.
Midfield could do with some new blood and energy, and some "skill".
And lastly, everyone on the team is expendable exception of Buffon, Maresca, Zambrotta and Miccoli. This quartet, I believe, can form the basis of next generation, and should be building block of new era. Rebuilding process probably will take long time but realistically for next couple of years, Milan and Roma should field better team both tactically and technically than us.

Fabrizio Miccoli insists that his first international goal, scored against Portugal last night, was no fluke.
The Juventus star netted directly from a corner kick to give the Azzurri a very respectable 2-1 win at Braga.
"I was looking to score," he maintains. "I learnt it from Roberto Baggio who once scored past Lecce like that a few years ago.
"I?m absolutely delighted to have got on the scoresheet and I?m finding it hard to describe exactly what I am feeling."
Miccoli, who impressed after coming on as a second half substitute, also used the strike to hit back at his critics.
"I dedicate this goal to my daughter but also to those people who have been writing that I will leave Juventus this summer," he added.
The other Italian scorer was Christian Vieri, who has now joined his close friend Pippo Inzaghi on 21 goals for his country.
"I?m expecting a call from him soon," smiled Bobo. "It was an important goal because it came at a crucial time.
"Overall the victory will do us good because it will put us in a good frame of mind at Euro 2004."
One of the biggest disappointments of the evening was the display of Francesco Totti who didn?t impress like he usually does.
"I?m more interested in the performance of the side rather than mine," he added. "It has been a good day for me though because Roma are safe from their debts."

Alessio Tacchinardi has become the latest Juventus player to sign a new contract at the Delle Alpi.
The midfielder put pen to paper on a deal this morning that will keep him with the club until 2008.
"I would stay here until the age of 50 in an effort to win the Champions? League again," he stated. "That is my primary objective and the desire of the fans for this club."
The international, now 28, has been in Turin since his 1994 move from Atalanta and has proved to be a loyal servant.
Tacchinardi, whose deal was set to expire in 2005, follows in the footsteps of Gianluca Zambrotta who renewed his deal last week.
The club are also in negotiations with a number of other players whose contracts are nearing their end.
Enzo Maresca held initial talks this week and an agreement is set to be reached soon. He should sign after Easter.
Marco Di Vaio also revealed recently that he could extend his stay despite his current deal still having three years left to run.
There is also the David Trezeguet situation to be resolved. His agreement concludes next year which has led to reports that he could be sold to Barcelona.
Yet transfer guru Luciano Moggi has again insisted today that the Frenchman will remain where he is. "He wants to stay and we have great faith in him here," said the official.

Lilian Thuram has conceded that he has contributed to Juventus? poor defensive displays this term.
The Bianconeri rearguard has been heavily criticised and the Frenchman has taken some of the responsibility.
"I?m not having a good season," the stopper told L?Equipe. "In fact, it is probably my worst as a professional.
"I know that I am not doing what I can on the pitch. I?m just not in the physical shape that I should be."
Thuram did pick up an ankle injury just before Christmas and his performances have been rather erratic since.
That has led to claims that the 32-year-old could be sold in the summer but he says he will see out his contract in Turin.
"I still have two more years left on my deal," he added. "If I feel fine physically after that time then I will play on.
"I?m not afraid to hit the 35-year-old barrier. If I am training well and I don?t have any fitness problems then I would like to continue playing."
Thuram, who added that he wants to play as a centre back in the future, had previously stated that he was to retire from the game in 2006.

Juventus striker David Trezeguet's proposed move to Barcelona could stall over a long-standing back complaint.
The French international wants to go under the knife after the European Championships, which is also the time when Barca want to conclude negotiations over his transfer.
Trezeguet's wish is to sign for Barca before Euro2004 and then have his back operation while settling in at the Nou Camp. But Barca are unhappy with this option and would prefer to sign Trezeguet when he is 100 per cent fit.
The Spanish giants are prepared to offer Juve £15 million cash, plus a player rated at £10 million from a choice of Gabri, Thiago Motta and Patrick Kluivert.

A former Juve star, Vieri is believed to be interested in a return to Turin and Moggi has been in contact with Inter again this week about a possible end-of-season transfer.
It's been suggested Moratti would be happy to see a deal go through if Moggi included striker Marco Di Vaio in a swap agreement.

The Derby d’Italia is here and arrives just when the two teams have climbed back on to their feet after a disappointing spell. Who will be left standing on Sunday night?
This has always been a fiery and controversial clash, but we have already seen a taster in the Coppa Italia semi-final this season. Both legs ended with a 2-2 scoreline, but the San Siro decider was packed with controversial refereeing decisions and a penalty shoot-out in which Christian Vieri’s error gave Juventus their ticket to the Final.
The Nerazzurri have already humiliated their rivals in Turin with a 3-1 Serie A victory, one of Alberto Zaccheroni’s first matches in charge. That was one of six consecutive wins for the Coach, but his fortunes took a downward turn over the last month and the team now lies in sixth place.
The return to full fitness and form of Alvaro Recoba has been crucial in earning two straight victories over Ancona and Reggina, plus a 4-3 UEFA Cup thriller with Benfica, but they will certainly need to improve on those performances to get the better of Juventus.
The injury crisis continues with Cristiano Zanetti, Matias Almeyda and Giorgios Karagounis all in doubt, but Marco Materazzi returns to shore up the defence after two months out with a ban for punching Siena’s Bruno Cirillo in an off the field incident. Adriano scored three of the four goals in that Coppa Italia clash with Juve, so Zac will be hard pushed to leave him out.
Juve’s injury crisis is also not to be sneered at with Alessandro Del Piero, Antonio Chimenti, Ciro Ferrara and Nicola Legrottaglie all out, while Gianluca Zambrotta, David Trezeguet and Alessandro Birindelli are still trying to find full fitness.
Enzo Maresca has been a decisive figure in the Bianconeri midfield this season and it is no coincidence that their return to victory matched his comeback from a back problem. Sunday’s 3-1 win over Modena may not have been entirely convincing, but it boosted morale and still put them in second place above Roma. Marco Di Vaio scored two in the Coppa encounters and is again expected to partner Trezeguet.

Juventus have officially renewed the contracts of Alessandro Birindelli and Alessio Tacchinardi, but doubt remains over David Trezeguet.
?The future era of Juventus is these players,? announced director general Luciano Moggi after the new deals were signed.
?This club knows how to stand the test of time and that is by keeping a solid centre of the squad throughout the years.?
There were already hints that pen would be put to paper, but Birindelli has now officially tied himself to the side until 2007 while Tacchinardi will stay in Turin until 2008.
Over the last few weeks Gianluca Zambrotta has also renewed his current contract until 2008, but doubt remains over Trezeguet?s future.
Newspapers in Spain and Italy continue to insist that the hitman will join Barcelona in the summer.
?Marca? claims that a verbal agreement between the two clubs has already been finalised for £18.5m, while the Frenchman is ready to sign a three-year deal with an option for a fourth worth £1.7m per season.
?I can assure you all,? added Moggi in his press conference, ?that Juventus have every intention of making Trezeguet happy in these contract negotiations.?
Time is running out for the former Monaco man, as his current deal expires in 2005 and therefore failure to sign a new agreement would inevitably see him move on in the summer.

bad news for us...
Pavel Nedved and Lilian Thuram are officially ruled out of Sunday?s Derby d?Italia, as Juve experiment with an attacking line-up.
The Czech international has been struggling with fitness problems throughout the campaign, but was unable to recover from back pain in time for this weekend.
Thuram has also been finding it difficult to find his form due to a series of physical worries and is out with a thigh problem.
The good news for Coach Marcello Lippi is that Paolo Montero, Mark Iuliano and Nicola Legrottaglie all return from injury to shore up the defence.
The Bianconeri have called a total of 18 players, including two youth team players, for this historically tense encounter.
It is reported that Lippi will test out a new system in the absence of Alessandro Del Piero and Nedved.
He aims to launch an all-out attack on Inter with Italy?s midweek hero Fabrizio Miccoli, Mauro Camoranesi and Enzo Maresca supporting lone striker David Trezeguet.
Marco Di Vaio is another option, as he has now recovered from an infection that ruled him out of Wednesday?s 2-1 win in Portugal.
Juventus squad: 1 Gianluigi BUFFON, 3 Alessio TACCHINARDI, 4 Paolo MONTERO, 5 Igor TUDOR, 7 Gianluca PESSOTTO, 8 Antonio CONTE, 9 Fabrizio MICCOLI, 13 Mark IULIANO, 14 Enzo MARESCA, 15 Alessandro BIRINDELLI, 16 Mauro CAMORANESI, 17 David TREZEGUET, 18 Stephen APPIAH, 19 Gianluca ZAMBROTTA, 20 Marco DI VAIO, 22 Antonio MIRANTE, 23 Nicola LEGROTTAGLIE, 34 David CHIUMIENTO

The Scudetto may not be in the balance, but Marcello Lippi maintains Inter-Juventus will be one of the most heated games of the season.
?This isn?t the usual top of the table battle it has been throughout recent years,? confirmed the Coach, ?but let us not forget these are the only two clubs never to have been relegated and it remains a very heated encounter.?
The Bianconeri are now resigned to losing the title, while the home side is locked in a race to grab that fourth Champions? League spot.
?Both us and Inter are coming off a difficult period and want to earn a convincing victory to get back on track. It?s a classic Serie A fixture and as we lost 3-1 in Turin last time we are even more motivated.?
Lippi certainly wasn?t underestimating the fire that usually surrounds this tie. This season alone we have already seen controversy, bitter recrimination and twelve goals in three games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
The sparks are already flying after Cristiano Zanetti suggested Juventus were ?moaning? about their many injuries while Inter suffered in silence throughout their own fitness crisis.
?Zanetti should get his facts straight,? snapped Lippi, ?as we lost nine players during a very important part of the season.?
Paolo Montero, Mark Iuliano and Nicola Legrottaglie are back, but Juve lose Pavel Nedved and Lilian Thuram for this crunch match.
?I saw Fabrizio Miccoli doing very well for the Italy squad midweek,? he noted after the 2-1 win in Portugal. ?I wish to remind everyone that he hasn?t played much at club level recently because we advised him to rest up and recover fully from his injury.?
The former Perugia starlet is set to act as support to David Trezeguet on Sunday night, lining up alongside Enzo Maresca and Mauro Camoranesi.
?Miccoli is not to be considered the understudy to Nedved,? added the tactician, ?as nobody can substitute Pavel.?
The club has denied reports of a revolution within the squad next season and Lippi insists this campaign has not been a failure.
?If we take second place off Roma,? he pointed out, ?then in my seven complete years at Juventus I will have earned five Scudetto titles and finished runner-up twice.?

Juventus chief Luciano Moggi has hinted this could Paolo Montero's last season with the club.
The Uruguay international if off contract in the summer and Moggi said: "There are players, as an example Montero, that for age and their contract they will stay with us until the end of their agreement (June 2004), then there will be the time in order to consider the situation."
He added, "We have great confidence in this squad and those players we have not re-signed, does not mean we will be selling to other clubs."
Meanwhile, Alessandro Birindelli has penned a new deal at Juve to 2007.

(SoccerPolls UK). Inter play host to arch rivals Juventus in a Sunday evening match being played in the San Siro and commonly known as the Derby of Italy or 'Derby d'Italia'.
Juventus still have a chance to clinch their third consecutive Serie A title, but it looks like both teams will be thinking ahead to next season instead and they will both need the points to help them achieve their European claims.
Juventus are second in Seria A on 59 points, nine points below AC Milan where they travel to Modena with seven matches still remaining. Juventus have a good away record with 7 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses in their 13 matches played away.
Inter are in sixth spot on 43 points and need to keep the pressure up on Parma and Lazio who are on 44 points if they want to reach European football next season. Their home record is not that good though with only 6 wins, 3 draws but more importantly 4 losses in their 13 games played at the San Siro.
Inter though, are still in the Uefa Cup after narrowly winning against Benfica recently and continue in the quarter-finals next week with a two leg match against Marseille.
Inter go into this game on the back of a 2-0 away win over Reggina last weekend in Seria A and another away win before that over Ancona again 2-0. Their last match at the San Siro in the league saw them draw 0-0 with Chievo.
The last time the two teams met in the league was back in November when Inter came out on top with a 3-1 win at the Delle Alpi. They played each other again in the Coppa Italia semi finals in February when Juventus won 5-4 on penalties in the San Siro after a 2-2 draw. That match came after the first leg ended again in 2-2.
Juventus got themselves back on track in the league last weekend with a comfortable 3-1 home win over Modena after drawing 0-0 away to Udinese the week before.
Juventus coach Marcello Lippi has Paolo Montero, Mark Iuliano and Nicola Legrottaglie all returning from injury, but has Czech International Pavel Nedved and Lilian Thuram look ruled out.
I expect the Bianconeri to just win it here. They still need to put pressure on AC Milan even if they are settling for second spot. But Roma, who are third, are only two points behind them and still have a game in hand, so Juventus must not slip up and I don't think they will. I'm going for a 2-1 Juventus win with Juventus scoring 1st.

Background
Inter Milan may be coming to the end of one of their most disappointing seasons in recent memory but they appear to be keen on avoiding outright catastrophe with a string of recent positive results.
Wins over Ancona, Benfica and Reggina have seen the nerazzurri regain some of their mojo.
And as result, Alberto Zaccheroni's boys stand a fair chance of snatching fourth spot and a guernsey for next season's UEFA Cup if they can maintain their oh-so-recent form.
Marcello Lippi, Juventus' manager, will have none of this, of course.
When he take his side to the San Siro Stadium on Sunday afternoon for this clash, he will have nothing but victory on his mind.
Lippi, who bares a striking resemblance to American actor Paul Newman, knows that his side have no chance of catching Milan in the race for the scudetto.
But he understands that they have a better-than-even chance of obtaining second spot come the end of the competition.
And if Juventus were to finish in that position, then the beleaguered coach might not have to make way for Deschamps after all.
Latest News
Inter
Midfielder Almeyda says the aims of the nerazzurri are simple: to clinch fourth place domestically and earn a berth in the UEFA Cup internationally.
Lambasted by journalists and fans alike for a roller-coaster season, he and his team mates believe they can achieve these goals by winning their remaining games and paying scant attention to the table.
Easier said than done, but Almeyda feels good about the club after seeing them win three games in a row over the last fourteen days.
Someone else who also feels good about Inter's prospects is Cruz.
If there was any doubt that he had forgotten the nerazzurri's impressive 3-1 away win over Juventus back at the start of the season, his comments this week dispelled that.
"We played very well against them last time," he said.
"And we got ourselves an important victory.
"The hope is that history repeats itself."
Juventus
How refreshing to see a player pledge eternal loyalty to one club.
This week Tacchinardi extended his contract for another four years.
That will make it 14 seasons with the bianconeri when he hangs up his boots in 2008.
His commitment to remain with the club is fuelled by a desire to bag a particular trophy.
"I want to win the Champions League," he said.
"It is my daily desire."
The midfielder will be 32 years old when he calls it quits.
And he said that it will then be time to pay back the club that have given him so much.
"I would like to teach the junior players everything that I have learned in the course of my career," he said.
Probable Team Line-Ups
Inter (3-4-3): Toldo, Adani, Materazzi, Cordoba, Almeyda, C. Zanetti, Stankovic, J. Zanetti, Recoba, Martins, Vieri.
Juventus (4-3-1-2): Buffon, Birindelli, Thuram, Montero, Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Maresca, Nedved, Miccoli, Trezeguet.
Players To Watch
Inter
He was put on this earth to play football and thrill fans with his creative use of the ball.
A stalwart of the nerazzurri, he is known as "The Chinaman" because of his distinct facial features.
But Recoba comes from Uruguay.
And he is the best thing that tiny country has produced since Francescoli.
Juventus
Buffon is a seasoned campaigner.
As custodian of the bianconeri goal, he understands an important thing: the ball never comes where it is expected to.
Especially when facing the likes of Recoba, Martins and Vieri.

Juventus have reportedly tabled another deal for David Trezeguet to remain at the club - despite the striker's assertion that he is not ready to discuss his future.
Trezeguet recently insisted that he wanted to see how Juve's disappointing season panned out before he committed his long-term future to the club.
The Turin club have suffered an ignominious exit from European competition, and Milan have established a commanding lead in Serie A.
Trezeguet has been strongly linked with a number of top European clubs - including Chelsea and Barcelona.
Although Chelsea have a wealth of top class strikers, supremo Roman Abramovich has signalled his desire to bring the cream of the world's footballers to Stamford Bridge.
Barcelona are also keen to build on an encouraging second half to the season and view French marksman Trezeguet as a player who can bring quality to Camp Nou.
Mindful of this, Juventus have been desperate to tie the Frenchman to a new deal, and are believed to have offered a lucrative new contract if Trezeguet commits to the club beyond his current deal - which expires in the summer of 2005.

It is also said that to lower the financial burden for Juve GM Moggi, the players Iuliano, Brighi, or Miccoli will be discused as part of the deal. Inter 3 - 2 Juventus
Martins 6 (I), Kily Gonzalez og 25 (J), Vieri pen 45 (I), Stankovic 47 (I), Di Vaio 93 (J)
Stadio Giuseppe Meazza
Alberto Zaccheroni has beaten Juventus for the second time this season as Inter win the fiery Derby d'Italia.
The Derby d'Italia was not a top of the table clash this year, but it was just as crucial for the two teams aiming for second place and fourth respectively.
There were major injury worries for both sides with Pavel Nedved, Francesco Toldo, Alessandro Del Piero, Alvaro Recoba and Lilian Thuram out of action.
Inter welcomed back Marco Materazzi from his two-month ban for punching Siena's Bruno Cirillo and chose to start Obafemi Martins instead of Adriano.
This was the fourth meeting between the two teams this season after Inter's 3-1 win in Turin and two 2-2 draws in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
Inter had not won this tie since 1998, but took the lead after just six minutes. Dejan Stankovic cut across for Obafemi Martins and the pacey Nigerian lifted the ball over a helpless Gianluigi Buffon.
The home side dominated the early play and were very aggressive to keep Juventus under constant pressure.
However, the Bianconeri broke away on the counter-attack and Mauro German Camoranesi's cross was accidentally nodded into his own net by Kily Gonzalez.
Moments later the Argentine almost repeated the feat with another deflected centre, although he should probably have cut back for the unmarked Fabrizio Miccoli.
Martins burst into the box only for his second touch to let him down at the crucial moment, then at the other end Miccoli just failed to slide on to another sweeping Camoranesi cross.
On the resulting corner kick Miccoli attempted to score directly from the flag and Alberto Fontana punched it out with some difficulty.
There were penalty appeals just before the break when Stankovic fell under a challenge from Gianluca Zambrotta. At first Pierluigi Collina did not give it as Stankovic appeared to be playing for the foul, but after consulting with the linesman he did point to the spot. Christian Vieri slammed a powerful penalty through the centre to restore Inter's lead.
Juventus had to make changes and it was no surprise when the on form Enzo Maresca replaced Stephen Appiah.
But within two minutes it was Inter that extended their lead with another soft goal. Francisco Farinos whipped in a corner kick and Stankovic was ready at the far post to tap in.
The Bianconeri fought back and Fontana did well to turn Zambrotta's effort over the bar, even if there was a very late offside flag.
Alberto Zaccheroni also made a substitution, bringing Matias Almeyda back after a long injury lay-off.
Miccoli was easily Juve's most dangerous player and his powerful drive from over 20 metres skimmed the crossbar. However, he was replaced by Marco Di Vaio just moments later.
Juve's hopes of getting back into this game were dashed on the hour mark when Paolo Montero, who had already been booked, sliced down Martins in midfield. The Uruguayan has now extended his record as the most red-carded man in Serie A history.
Soon after Buffon palmed away Vieri's half-volley, but when Materazzi took on the loose ball he was standing in an offside position.
Martins could perhaps have completed his brace when charging into space, but fired over the bar, then substitute Giorgios Karagounis had his effort fingertipped off target.
Deep into stoppage time Juventus made the scoreline a little less humiliating when Marco Di Vaio rose to nod in an Alessandro Birindelli free kick.
Inter: Fontana; Cordoba, Materazzi, Gamarra; J Zanetti, C Zanetti, Farinos (Almeyda 55), Kily Gonzalez (Helveg 82); Stankovic (Karagounis 69), Vieri, Martins
Juventus: Buffon; Zambrotta, Legrottaglie, Montero, Birindelli; Appiah (Maresca 46), Tudor, Tacchinardi, Camoranesi (Conte 72); Miccoli (Di Vaio 56); Trezeguet
Ref: Collina
Sent off: Montero 62 (J)

Alberto Zaccheroni and Marcello Lippi both concede that Inter deserved to win, but the refereeing decisions have come under fire.
Zaccheroni explained why Adriano was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes of this crucial encounter.
?Adriano is not 100 per cent fit and did not even take part in Friday?s training session. It is completely untrue that I often choose between Vieri and Adriano, but they are very similar and we need to work very hard before being able to afford fielding both together.?
The choice of Obafemi Martins proved inspired, especially after he also scored in the 3-1 victory in Turin.
?If Martins is allowed to run into space then he will give any opponent trouble,? added Zac, ?as nobody in Serie A is as fast as him right now.?
Stankovic had a hand in all three goals and put in perhaps his best performance since signing for the Nerazzurri.
?I was lucky enough to Coach Stankovic at Lazio and realised that by placing him behind the forwards he was considerably more effective, but he is not a classic second striker who can play with his back to the goal.?
?It was not a very tactical game,? concluded the Coach, ?but rather a fast-paced and entertaining encounter that both teams wanted to win.?
Despite beating Juventus twice over the campaign, the Italian press still maintains that Zaccheroni will be fired in the summer.
?Today I am the Inter Coach and this is the job that I perform. I don?t know about tomorrow, but I can tell you that I never let myself become affected by talk from outside the club.?
Marcello Lippi held up his hands and admitted that Inter deserved to win this Derby d?Italia.
?Apart from the result, the moment that really knocked the team for six was the penalty just before half-time,? explained Lippi. ?Then we conceded another at the start of the second half and Montero?s red card all one after the other.?
The Bianconeri began the match with a 3-5-2 formation, but switched it in the second half.
?We had started with three defenders because I feared Martins in a one against one situation,? he revealed. ?Paradoxically, we conceded a goal like that almost immediately. I changed to a 4-4-2 and matters improved considerably.?
Paolo Montero was sent off for the 16th time in his Serie A career ? more than anyone else in the history of Italian football.
?I thought the red card was a little harsh as the ball was already going out for a throw-in in midfield,? insisted the tactician, ?but if Collina took this decision then he must have had his reasons.?
Juventus were also upset at the penalty awarded for Gianluca Zambrotta?s challenge on Dejan Stankovic.
?There is a foul and there is contact, but without wishing to cause controversy I will say that Stankovic was looking for the foul.?

Gigi Buffon is set to guard the Juventus goal for some time to come after reportedly agreeing a contract extension.
The goalkeeper, widely regarded as the world?s best, has struck a deal that will keep him at the club until 2008 ? with an option for one more season after that.
Buffon, whose present contract expires in 2006, will now join Alex Del Piero as Juve?s top earner according to whispers.
Although the former Parma man will accept a 20 per cent cut in wages, he will receive extra income via image rights from the club. He should net around £3.5m a season.
Although the Old Lady have yet to confirm the stories, an announcement is expected over the next few days.
Buffon will become the latest high profile player to extend his contract after the likes of Ciro Ferrara, Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessio Tacchinardi.
Enzo Maresca is also on the verge of extending his stay even if problems remain with respect to David Trezeguet.
The latest speculation suggests he is unhappy with Juve?s offer of £2.2m a season - that has alerted the interested Barcelona.
If he does leave then his place may be taken by Marseille striker Didier Drogba. Juve scouts will assess his performance against Inter in the UEFA Cup this week.

Chievo have told Inter and Juventus that they are willing to listen to offers for Simone Perrotta.
The 26-year-old has been linked with both clubs as he continues to shine at the Stadio Bentegodi.
The Italian international was close to leaving last summer but the move, thought to have involved Inter, collapsed.
Yet the midfielder does seem to be on the verge of joining an Italian giant according to the Veronese club.
"We would obviously like to keep him but we believe it is time that he took a step up in his career," sporting director Giovanni Sartori told Guerin Sportivo.
"He deserves that chance. We are in fact ready to negotiate with any club tomorrow rather than wait until after Euro 2004."
Sartori went as far as publicly putting a valuation on the former Juventus and Bari player.
"We believe he is worth in the region of £7.5m," he added. "But we are ready to accept around £4m plus two players."
Both Inter and Juventus do have a number of promising youngsters that little Chievo would be interested in.
However, it seems that the Nerazzurri are in pole position to sign him given Sartori?s excellent relationship with Inter director Lele Oriali.

Didier Deschamps has closed the door on a summer switch to Juventus after his Monaco side reached the Champions? League semi-final.
The former French international has been tipped to replace Marcello Lippi next term but the tactician has other ideas.
"I?m happy here," said the ex-Bianconeri midfielder. "I still have a year left on my contract and there is no reason why I should leave. In fact, the club want to extend my deal.
"Juventus? A lot of things have been written but I?ve never said anything. These rumours will only disturb Lippi and his players as they have some important aims left this term."
The Italian giants will certainly be keeping an eye on Deschamps as he continues to enhance his reputation.
Having lost 4-2 to Real Madrid in the first leg, few gave Monaco any hope on Tuesday of reaching the last four of the Champions? League.
However, despite going 1-0 down, the Principality outfit came back to win 3-1 and they qualified on the away goal rule.
"Not too many people believed in our chances," added Deschamps. "We already caused them difficulties in the first game.
"This time we made less mistakes though and we were very alert in defence. This is an incredible achievement for us and French football."
They will now play Claudio Ranieri's Chelsea in the last four.

The recent shock Champions? League results could see a whirlwind of changes for Marcello Lippi, Fabio Capello, Claudio Ranieri and Didier Deschamps.
Much has already been said of Monaco boss Deschamps? possible return to Turin, a scenario he denied this morning.
However, his surprise 3-1 victory over Real Madrid may still affect Marcello Lippi?s next move.
?My future is today,? admitted under-fire Merengues boss Carlos Queiroz. ?I must only think of winning the Liga title and nothing more.?
It is now reported that Lippi could give up the chance to take over the Italy squad in favour of a Spanish experience at the Bernabeu, especially as he was already contacted by Real in 2002.
Chelsea eliminated favourites Arsenal from Europe?s most prestigious tournament, but it may not be enough to salvage the rapport between Claudio Ranieri and the club.
Fabio Capello is said to be their top choice to take over after Sven Goran Eriksson signed a new contract with the England squad.
Last month the Roma Coach already made his intentions clear and noted, ?I would love a new overseas experience and am yet to taste English football.?
Capello has already won League titles with Milan, Real Madrid and Roma, so he would be the perfect man to guide the star-studded Stamford Bridge side.
The successful tactician?s contract with Roma expires in 2005, but President Franco Sensi has made it clear he would be willing to release him in the summer.
Intriguingly, there could be a straight swap as Rome-born Ranieri is being eyed as the successor to Capello at the Stadio Olimpico.
A confirmed Giallorossi fan, the ex-Fiorentina boss would relish a return to his homeland with the club of his dreams.
?I am incredibly happy,? he told Italian website Tgcom, ?but this is not revenge over Roman Abramovich. I say we have been working with these lads for 10 months now and this result is the fruit of our hard work.?
That 3-2 aggregate victory over the Gunners surprised many in Britain, but also made headlines in the Peninsula.
?The English press has been very kind to me and it can only make me very happy,? concluded Ranieri.

Enzo Maresca is confident that he is on the verge of extending his contract with Italian giants Juventus.
Talks between the player and the club have taken place but as of yet not agreement has been reached to prolong his current deal which expires in 2005.
"There is still a small economical difference between what I want and what they are offering," said the former Under-21 international.
"But I?m confident that it will all be sorted out after Easter. We?ll stay together until June 2009.
"I have a good and mature understanding with the club. Luciano Moggi was the man that brought me to Italy and I hope he still has faith in me today."
Maresca, who was signed by Juventus from West Bromwich Albion, has had a good campaign in Turin.
But he admits that his relationship with Coach Marcello Lippi hasn?t always been the best.
"It hasn?t been the easiest," he recalls. "There have been times when we have needed to clear up a few things.
"But when you speak to someone face to face then things are quickly resolved. Will he leave in the summer? He isn?t working like a man who already has his bags packed."

Udinese defender Per Kroldrup is ignoring rumours suggesting that he is a transfer target for Juventus.
The Dane was linked with the Bianconeri last week after another good campaign at the Stadio Friuli.
But he maintains he is not thinking about a switch to Turin as he still has more immediate objectives to reach with Udinese.
"I?m really not interested in the stories which say I?m on my way to Juventus," said the Danish international.
"I?m just keeping my feet on the ground and thinking exclusively of Udinese at this moment in time.
"I want to end this season by helping my team qualify for European competition next term."
Kroldrup seems to be just the latest Udinese player to have caught the eye of transfer guru Luciano Moggi.
The Old Lady of Italian football are also very interested in the midfield duo of David Pizarro (pictured) and Marek Jankulovski.

Pavel Nedved has underlined yet again that he intends to remain at Juventus until 2006.
Speculation in Italy has suggested that the 31-year-old could be sold this summer but the Czech ace is adamant that he will stay.
"I still have two years left on my contract and I have a great desire to win the Champions? League with this club," said the midfielder.
"The fact that I missed last season?s final through suspension still haunts me. I want to make up for that."
The Old Lady were knocked out of this term?s event by Deportivo La Coruna. The same side that humiliated Milan last night.
"Every team can have a bad game like that," added Nedved. "It?s hard to explain what happened but I?m sure Milan will still win Lo Scudetto.
"I?m disappointed for them because they are an Italian side but we know how difficult it is to go and play at the Riazor as they beat us 1-0.
"It?s been a surprising tournament because none of the favourites, including Juventus, are in the semi-finals."
Nedved has returned to training this week after missing the 3-2 loss at Inter. He should be available to face his former club Lazio on Saturday.
"We need to win the game," added the former Biancocelesti hero. "We haven?t beaten any of the big clubs this season and that, coupled with injuries, has hampered our campaign."

Juventus-Lazio
Stadio Delle Alpi
Juventus have failed to beat any of the top clubs this season and take on a side that has already humiliated them twice.
This fixture ended 2-0 for Roberto Mancini?s men at the Stadio Olimpico back in December, but the rather more recent meeting saw them again thrashed in the Coppa Italia Final. There is still some hope of recovering in the second leg after that identical scoreline, but points are everything in Serie A and that automatic Champions? League qualifying spot is sailing away.
Last week?s 3-2 defeat at Inter showed once again that this Bianconeri side is losing its grip and in particular its psychological strength. Juve have picked up just two points from their seven games against Inter, Roma, Milan and Lazio this season.
Discipline is also a worry with Paolo Montero receiving their third red card of the campaign ? a mistake that rules him out of this match through suspension. Pavel Nedved returns to take on his former club after recovering from a back problem, but Alessandro Del Piero and Lilian Thuram are still sidelined. Marcello Lippi was criticised for failing to include Enzo Maresca in the starting eleven against Inter and is expected to rectify that error with Fabrizio Miccoli again supporting David Trezeguet.
Lazio are back on track following their 5-2 demolition of Siena and with a game in hand are still the favourites to take that precious fourth place. They went through a rough patch with defeats to Bologna and Milan, but with two wins on the trot under their belts Roberto Mancini?s men are flying high.
Cesar bagged a hat-trick last Sunday and will be eager to prove his worth again, while Roberto Muzzi could push Claudio Lopez out of the line-up. Matteo Sereni retains the goalkeepers? gloves after Angelo Peruzzi?s thigh strain.
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Birindelli, Legrottaglie, Iuliano, Zambrotta; Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Maresca; Nedved; Miccoli, Trezeguet
Lazio (probable): Sereni; Oddo, Stam, Mihajlovic, Favalli; Fiore, Giannichedda, Albertini; Cesar, Corradi, Muzzi

04/07/2004. Everybody at Juventus is convinced that Marcello Lippi will leave the club at the end of the season and the manager is looking for a new experience.
During his career he achieved a lot and he is considered one of the best managers in the world but he hasn't proved what he is worth in foreign team yet.
Lippi has already announced that he doesn't want to take Trapattoni's place as Italy's coach and after what happened to Real Madrid last night he is seriously thinking about moving to Spain.

BACKGROUND:
Saturday night's Serie A match will see Juventus hosting Lazio at the 'Delle Alpi' of Turin.
Both teams need a must-win from this encounter. The bianconeri need to keep up with Roma for the second place as the top spot now seems to be just a mirage. Lazio on the other hand are level on points with Parma and have one more than Inter for the race for the fourth spot.
Juventus are not passing through a great moment of form, with the latest setback coming at the expense of rivals Inter last Sunday night in Milan, when the nerazzurri disposed of Lippi's squad with a convincing 3-2 win.
Lazio are coming from back-to-back wins against Perugia and Siena respectively which definitely boost the morale of Mancini's troops for this delicate encounter against the Turin-based giants.
Lippi has never defeated Mancini in the 5 previous encounters between these two coaches. In fact the balance is of 2 draws and 3 wins for the Lazio coach. Juventus has not defeated Lazio in official matches since the 5th of April 1998, when the bianconeri won 1-0 at the Olimpico in Serie A: since then, 13 matches played with 8 wins for Lazio and 5 draws.
TEAM NEWS:
Juventus - Lippi is slowly slowly recovering all injured players and the only unavailable ones are now Del Piero and Chimenti, apart from the suspended Montero who was sent off last Sunday against Inter.
Lazio - No real formation trouble for Mancini whose only injured player remains Gottardi. The biancoceleste coach seems intentioned to rest Cesar following the Brazilian's hat-trick last weekend against Siena.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Nedved (Juventus) - When playing against his former team, Nedved always gives that extra more, not as a sign of disrespect but as dedication for the current shirt he is wearing.
Fiore (Lazio) - Scorer of a brace in the Coppa Italia first leg final and also author of another brace last season when Lazio visited Juventus at the Delle Alpi. Will he be able to repeat himself?
PROBABLE FORMATIONS:
Juventus (4-4-1-1) - Buffon; Thuram, Legrottaglie, Iuliano, Zambrotta; Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Maresca, Appiah; Nedved; Trezeguet
Lazio (4-3-3) - Peruzzi; Oddo, Stam, Mihajlovic, Favalli; Fiore, Giannichedda, Albertini; Muzzi, Inzaghi, Lopez

Juventus boss Marcello Lippi is still keeping people guessing about his future with the Italian giants.
The tactician has a year left on his Delle Alpi contract but many are expecting him to quit the outfit at the end of this campaign.
Lippi was again asked about his plans today but he isn?t giving too much away as speculation continues.
"You'll all know soon enough as I will talk to the club in the near future with regard to my future," he said on the eve of the game against Lazio.
Many people believe that Lippi will replace Giovanni Trapattoni on the Azzurri bench after the 2004 European Championships.
Yet there is also the possibility that he could join a foreign club, with Real Madrid and Chelsea feasible destinations.
Should the tactician leave the Old Lady at the end of term then he will almost certainly be replaced by Didier Deschamps, Claudio Prandelli or Gigi Del Neri.
The Frenchman seems to be the favourite to take over in Turin after leading Monaco to the Champions? League semi-finals this term.
While Prandelli and Del Neri have continued to impress with Parma and Chievo Verona respectively.
Meanwhile, Juventus will have numerous absentees for tomorrow night?s game against the Biancocelesti.
Ciro Ferrara, Alessandro Birindelli, Antonio Chimenti and Alex Del Piero are all still struggling with fitness.
Defender Paolo Montero is suspended, while Enzo Maresca is a real doubt after picking up a fever.

Juventus are touting goalkeeper Fabian Carini to interested clubs around Europe.
The Uruguay No1 is on-loan at Standard Liege, which has refused to take up the £3.5 million purchase option on the keeper.

He will then be loaned to Lazio next season in a cash-plus-player exchange for Fiore.

Juventus wing engine Pavel Nedved has continued his fight against transfer rumours, saying he doesn?t want to leave the Delle Alpi without raising Champions? League silver.

?I want to win the Champions? League here,? declared Nedved. ?Last year's final still burns, especially to me, because I had to miss it due to suspension."

Juventus 1 - 0 Lazio
Trezeguet 88 (J)
Stadio Delle Alpi
David Trezeguet rose to nod in the winner for Juventus with just two minutes to spare for their first home win over Lazio since 1997.
The Bianconeri had not beaten Lazio here in six years and were already defeated twice this season with a 2-0 scoreline, including the first leg of the Coppa Italia Final.
Marcello Lippi has never beaten Roberto Mancini in a League match and was forced to make changes with Paolo Montero suspended, Enzo Maresca, Alessandro Del Piero and Ciro Ferrara injured. He therefore fielded David Trezeguet as the lone striker upfront supported by Mauro Camoranesi, Gianluca Zambrotta and ex-Lazio star Pavel Nedved.
Lazio are still on track for fourth place and came to Turin looking to continue their fine record against the giants. Cesar was the third prong in a trident attack alongside Bernardo Corradi and Simone Inzaghi.
Juve had an aggressive start and within the opening minute Trezeguet nodded wide from eight yards, then a deflected Nedved free kick looped over the bar.
Lazio thought they had broken the deadlock on 17 minutes when Cesar's volley slammed into the roof of the net, but it was disallowed for offside. However, the Brazilian came from the back and only Simone Inzaghi was standing in an illegal position.
Zambrotta was playing in a more advanced position and his fierce rising drive was fingertipped over the bar after he had skipped past Jaap Stam.
Gianluigi Buffon did well to hold a Sinisa Mihajlovic free kick, while Alessio Tacchinardi and Camoranesi fired long-range efforts over the bar.
Lazio really should have taken the lead on the half-hour mark following another defensive howler from the Bianconeri. Nicola Legrottaglie's missed header let Stefano Fiore in and his cross was palmed out by Buffon into the path of Fabio Liverani, but the midfielder incredibly fired wide of the target.
Juve hit back when Nedved's curling cross was turned wide by Trezeguet under pressure from Mihajlovic, but Buffon was at full stretch to turn Cesar's dangerous cross past Stefano Fiore.
Just before the break Trezeguet released Camoranesi on the right flank and his angled drive whistled inches wide of the far post.
Roberto Mancini made a change at half-time, introducing the more attacking fullback Massimo Oddo for Jaap Stam.
The first scoring opportunity of the second half fell to Juventus, as a corner wasn't cleared effectively and Mark Iuliano drilled an angled effort wide.
Soon after Mihajlovic nearly scored directly from the corner flag, but Stephen Appiah was ready to clear at the near post.
Trezeguet's looping header was easily controlled by Matteo Sereni, then the Frenchman didn't quite reach a dangerous Zambrotta cross that only needed to be tapped into the net.
The two players changed places on 64 minutes when Zambrotta's powerful finish was over the bar.
Lazio made another substitution with striker Roberto Muzzi taking over from Simone Inzaghi in that trident attack. With his first touch the former Udinese star charged into the box and it took a crucial Legrottaglie challenge to prevent him scoring.
Juve's injury crisis deepend with Iuliano limping off, while Mihajlovic was able to carry on despite a muscular problem.
The Bianconeri needed a spark and threw on Fabrizio Miccoli for the final 13 minutes, moving Zambrotta back to his habitual left-back role.
Within two minutes of stepping on to the field Miccoli curled a free kick from a very tight angle that was fingertipped on to the crossbar by Matteo Sereni.
Lazio had timid penalty appeals for a handling offence by Zambrotta on Cesar's sweeping cross.
The deadlock was eventually broken with two minutes to spare as a Camoranesi cross was whipped in for the head of David Trezeguet. The Frenchman was allowed a free header into the far corner.
Juventus: Buffon; Thuram, Legrottaglie, Iuliano (Tudor 70), Pessotto (Miccoli 77); Tacchinardi, Appiah; Camoranesi, Nedved, Zambrotta; Trezeguet
Lazio: Sereni; Stam (Oddo 46), Couto, Mihajlovic, Favalli (Lopez 90); Liverani, Giannichedda, Fiore; Inzaghi (Muzzi 65), Corradi, Cesar

Juventus striker David Trezeguet struck the winner in yesterday's 1-0 triumph over Lazio.
The Frenchman scored two minutes before the end and Juve coach Marcello Lippi said, "Certainly, in the first-half the contest has been balanced.
"After the break, we have made a lot of chances against Lazio and the victory is deserved. We are satisfied as we had prepared for the contest by planning to create many crosses for Trezeguet.
"He was very mobile and was the difference. He played up front, then on the left, he was everywhere and worked very well for the team."

Trez wants Arsenal move?
Monday 12 April, 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal could join the chase to sign David Trezeguet after the striker admitted that he may leave Juventus.
"It will take time in order to understand what will happen," said the Frenchman. "The club and I will make a decision at the end of this season.
"For now I just want to concentrate on finishing this term as we still have some important games to play."
Although Trezeguet continues to score for Juventus, as he did on Saturday in the 1-0 win over Lazio, rumours persist that he will be sold.
The former Monaco man is only tied to the club until 2005 and talks over an extension have hit problems.
Trezeguet allegedly wants a substantial pay increase which the Turin giants are not keen on awarding him.
If no deal is agreed then he will be sold by the club in the summer - rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.
Spanish giants Barcelona have admitted they are interested in the 26-year-old but reports suggest that a London switch could occur.
Trez apparently would like to experience the Premiership and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has always been a massive fan.
It’s unclear though whether the Highbury outfit could finance the move after they splashed out £20m on Antonio Reyes at the start of the year.

No Italy move for Mexes
Monday 12 April, 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roma and Juventus are set to lose out in the chase to sign Auxerre youngster Phillipe Mexes.
The French international has been heavily linked with both sides but reports suggest he’s on his way to the Premiership.
Although it is believed that the central defender would like a move to Serie A, Liverpool are in pole position for the stopper.
The Anfield outfit are allegedly ready to offer £6m for Mexes, a fee that neither Juve or Roma are willing to match.
Juventus have been tracking Mexes for a number of months as they look to strengthen their ageing defence.
The Bianconeri officials had visited the French club on a number of occasions this term to watch Olivier Kapo – who will arrive in the summer.
Yet they were also left impressed with the performances of the 23-year-old defender who is tipped for a great future.
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/apr12d.html
£6m for a young and promising defender which we badly need, Moggi please do something
iT would be nuts for Moggi not to realize that Mexes surely worth more than £6m ......

Udinese midfielder David Pizarro will decide his future this week.
The Chile international has fielded offers from clubs across the continent, but his agent says he is likely to stay in Italy next season.
"Next Thursday I am going to have a meeting with Luciano Moggi (Juventus general manager) about the transfer of David Pizarro," said Jorge Cyszterpiller.
"Udinese accepts to transfer Pizarro so we have to negotiate for reaching the best deal for all the parties involved.
"Udinese have decided to replace Pizarro with the midfielder of San Lorenzo, Leandro Romagnoli, so I have to get the best for my client.
"The negotiations will be first of all with Juventus but we don't forget that Inter is also interested."

Lilian Thuram believes that Juventus should do all they can to keep boss Marcello Lippi and David Trezeguet.
Both men are being tipped to leave the Stadio Delle Alpi in the summer but the Frenchman believes that would be a massive mistake.

"But Lippi has done so much for this club that there is no reason for him to leave. If he wasn?t in charge of pre-season training next term then I would be very surprised."
While Lippi is being associated with the Italian national job and Real Madrid, Trezeguet is reportedly close to Barcelona.
The French striker is only tied to the club until 2005 but talks over a new contract continue to stall.
"There are some very good players around right now but it is difficult to find champions like him," noted Thuram when asked about the Trezeguet situation.
"I think it will be very important for a club such as Juventus to make sure that they don?t let go of a player like that."
The former Parma captain was finally asked about his own future with the outfit after a highly disappointing campaign.
"I still have two years left on my agreement in Turin," he stated. "As far as I?m concerned, I want to stay."

Didier Drogba says he?s delighted to have caught the eye of Juventus but he is keen to avoid questions about his future.
"It is very pleasing that such a prestigious club like that are interested in me," said the Marseille star.
"But this is not the time to be talking about these things. I want to just concentrate on Marseille right now as this is the respect that my teammates deserve."
The 25-year-old striker has been talked about as a possible replacement for David Trezeguet if he leaves the Delle Alpi club.
Drogba showed Italian fans what he is capable of last week as he scored in the 1-0 win over Inter in the UEFA Cup quarter final.
The Frenchman was a constant threat to the Nerazzurri defence but he won?t play against them tonight as he is suspended for the return leg.
Drogba has already scored 19 League goals for his club this term but he also impressed during Marseille?s Champions? League stint.

Parma - Juventus
Stadio Tardini
It?s third against fourth at the Stadio Tardini as both clubs look for more crucial Champions? League points. Juventus want the victory in a bid to pip Roma to second, while the home side are in a real scrap with Inter and Lazio for that top four finish.
Despite all their financial troubles, Parma have been nothing short of exceptional this term under the tutelage of Claudio Prandelli. His young guns keep shining and it is no surprise that Juventus have been linked with the likes of Daniele Bonera, Matteo Ferrari and Alberto Gilardino.
All three will start against the Turin giants in a bid to not only win the game but impress their possible next employers. Manuele Blasi will also be keen to do well as he is on loan from the Stadio Delle Alpi side.
It?s unclear what formation Marcello Lippi will field. He played with just David Trezeguet up front last week in the 1-0 win over Lazio. Trez scored the winner but Fabrizio Miccoli and Marco Di Vaio are available for selection. Alex Del Piero may also return to the bench after recovering from a thigh strain.
Ciro Ferrara should be back from injury, while Paolo Montero is available after his one match ban. They could start in the centre of defence at the expense of Nicola Legrottaglie.
Parma (probable): Frey; Bonera, Ferrari, Cannavaro, Castellini; Marchionni, Barone, Blasi, Bresciano; Morfeo; Gilardino
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Thuram, Legrottaglie, Montero, Zambrotta; Camoranesi, Tacchinardi, Maresca, Appiah; Nedved; Trezeguet

nah...2nd spot will be within reach..
MILAN (Reuters) -- Facts on Serie A's top three clubs AC Milan, AS Roma and Juventus.
AC MILAN (1, 72 points)
Key player: Andrea Pirlo
Strengths: With the biggest squad of the three contenders, Milan have also produced the most consistent performances.
Ukrainian Andriy Shevchenko is Serie A's top scorer and Brazilian Kaka, the find of the season, has provided the attacking flair that was lacking from last season.
At the back Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta are two of the classiest central defenders in the game and full-backs Cafu and Giuseppe Pancaro provide width going forward.
Midfielder Andrea Pirlo has had an outstanding season directing play from in-front of the defence while Gennaro Gattuso adds the necessary steel.
Weaknesses: Two draws in the league against Chievo and Modena preceeded the dramatic exit from the Champions League. A scrappy win over Empoli ended a mini-crisis but further slip-ups before the Roma clash could set nerves on edge.
Remaining fixtures:
April 17: Siena (Away)
April 25: Udinese (A)
May 2: AS Roma (Home)
May 9: Reggina (A)
May 16: Brescia (H)
Prediction: 1st, 81 points
- - - -
AS ROMA (2, 63 points)
Key player: Francesco Totti Strengths: Roma's strike partnership of Francesco Totti and
Antonio Cassano has racked up 29 goals so far in Serie A this season and shows no sign of drying up.
The defence has been tighter this season with the addition of Romanian Christian Chivu while Frenchman Olivier Dacourt and Brazilian Emerson have become a very effective central midfield pairing.
Weaknesses: Inconsistency has cost Roma dear this season.
Losses against mid-table Bologna and Brescia and draws with lowly Reggina and Ancona mean Roma have failed to take advantage of Milan's slips.
Coach Fabio Capello must also cope with a lengthy injury list that includes defenders Walter Samuel and Vincent Candela and striker Vincenzo Montella.
Remaining fixtures:
April 18: Modena (A)
April 21: Lazio (A)
April 25: Empoli (playing at neutral venue due to ban on Olympic Stadium)
May 2: AC Milan (A)
May 9: Perugia (H)
May 16: Sampdoria (A)
Prediction: 2nd, 76 points
- - - -
JUVENTUS (3, 62 points)
Key player: Pavel Nedved Strengths: Juve's usual reliability against smaller sides make them a good bet for taking full points against Lecce, Perugia and Siena. Alessandro Del Piero should return from injury before the end of the season giving coach Marcello Lippi plenty of choices in attack along with Marco Di Vaio, David Trezeguet and Fabrizio Miccoli.
Weaknesses: The champions' defence has taken a battering
this season, conceding 34 goals in 29 matches. Quick-witted players such as Parma's emerging young striker Alberto Gilardino and Sampdoria's Fabio Bazzani could take advantage before the end of the season.
Remaining fixtures:
April 18: Parma (A)
April 25: Lecce (H)
May 2: Perugia (A)
May 9: Sampdoria (H)
May 16: Siena (A)
Prediction: 3rd, 73 poin

Del Piero back in action
Thursday 15 April, 2004
Alex Del Piero could feature against Parma this weekend after successfully completing a practice match today.
The Juventus star, who has been sidelined for 38 days with a thigh strain, scored twice in a 7-2 win over Sanremese.
Although he still looks short of fitness, he could be named as one of the substitutes at the Stadio Tardini on Sunday.
The No 10 picked up the problem during the 1-0 home defeat to Deportivo La Coruna in the Champions’ League.
He now has just over a month to get back to his best in order to be available for Italy at Euro 2004.
The other Juventus scorers today included David Trezeguet, Enzo Maresca and Fabrizio Miccoli who netted a hat-trick.

Manuele Blasi?s season was hit by a doping ban and Parma?s financial plight, but the Juve-owned midfielder aims to make his mark against his future teammates.
?I have already played against the Bianconeri before,? assured Blasi, ?and I must say I never felt any particularly strong emotions. It won?t be any different to facing any of the other big clubs.?
Although his contract still belongs to the Turin outfit and he is set for a return to the Delle Alpi this summer, Blasi is yet to wear the Juve jersey.
He was rumoured to be making a January comeback after the departure of Edgar Davids, but his ban for nandrolone use ruled out that possibility.
?Right now I just want to prove to Parma that I am important to them and that is all,? pointed out the Under-21 international. ?I have been out for too long this season and it is my duty to give 110 per cent for the team and fans.?
This is traditionally something of a grudge match and often a fiery encounter, but points are even more precious to the Gialloblu after clambering into fourth place.
?I think that this is a perfect time to take on Juventus,? he continued on the official Parma website.
?We are on fine form and have won our last three games on the trot. They are always dangerous opponents, but we are confident of giving them a real run for their money.?
The first meeting in Turin, which Blasi missed because of his ban, was a 4-0 drubbing and Juve are just starting to build up their form once more.
?Even if they are not 100 per cent fit,? added the ex-Perugia man, ?Juve are to be feared. If they are getting their injured stars back then this becomes a real test.?
Alessandro Del Piero is edging closer to a comeback, but is not expected to feature at the Stadio Tardini, while Mauro German Camoranesi and Ciro Ferrara are doubts.

There are reports in Italy that representatives of Chelsea patron Roman Abramovich have contacted Marcello Lippi.
According to Italian television programme ?Studio Sport?, agents John Ferguson and Mike Morris are the go-betweens for the Juventus boss.
It is widely believed that this will be Lippi?s final year on the Bianconeri bench and several options are open to him.
Links with the Azzurri job and Real Madrid have been mentioned in the press, while he has hinted at an overseas solution.
"I will reveal my future in the next few weeks," commented the former Inter Coach, "and surprise you all."
It is reported that Claudio Ranieri will be fired at the end of the season, but Chelsea are waiting for the public support to waver in the event of a Champions? League exit.
The first choice was believed to be Sven Goran Eriksson, followed by Fabio Capello, but Inter?s interest in the current Roma boss has pushed their attention towards Lippi.
Meanwhile, the newspapers in the Peninsula continue to speculate on his successor at the Stadio Delle Alpi.
Didier Deschamps remains the number one target, although new investors in Monaco could prompt him to stay a little bit longer.
Other potential replacements for Lippi include Parma?s Cesare Prandelli, Chievo boss Gigi Del Neri and former Juventus star Gianluca Vialli.

Carbone 34 (P), Di Vaio 77 (J), Gilardino 81 (P), Tudor 93 (J)
Stadio Tardini
Igor Tudor bagged a last-gasp equaliser at the Tardini in a very entertaining four-goal thriller.
This has always been something of a grudge match, but it has been calmed in recent years as Gianluigi Buffon, Lilian Thuram, Marco Di Vaio and Manuele Blasi were facing their former clubs.
According to newspaper talk, Alberto Gilardino, Matteo Ferrari and Daniele Bonera will be repeating that journey from Parma to Turin in the summer.
Juventus again fielded a lone striker system with Gianluca Zambrotta in a more advanced role on the left wing.
The Bianconeri had an aggressive start, but Alessio Tacchinardi limped off after just 14 minutes to make way for Igor Tudor.
Zambrotta forced a tough save out of Sebastien Frey when he dribbled past two players and aimed his deflected drive at the bottom near corner. Pavel Nedved looked much improved from recent outings and his fierce effort from distance whistled past the post.
Soon after Tudor battled past several defenders and managed to cross in for the unmarked David Trezeguet, but the Frenchman ballooned it off target.
Parma were dangerous from a corner kick on the half-hour mark and it took a panicked Stephen Appiah goalline clearance to prevent someone pouncing on the loose ball.
There was chaos on 34 minutes as Enzo Maresca wanted a penalty for Castellini's trip, but as Parma poured forward on the counter-attack they took the lead moments later. Buffon parried Mark Bresciano's angled drive, but he could do nothing on Benito Carbone's diving header as Marco Marchionni chipped in a splendid cross.
This goal increased Parma's confidence and they called Buffon into another tricky save on Gilardino's solo effort.
Marcello Lippi made a tactical switch at half-time, introducing ex-Parma hitman Marco Di Vaio for fullback Gianluca Pessotto, therefore moving Zambrotta back to a defensive role.
But it was the Gialloblu who wasted a golden opportunity to double their lead when a cross squirmed away from Buffon and Bresciano incredibly blasted it wide of an open goal.
Juventus were playing with their defence practically in the centre-circle and it made Parma's counter-attacks all the more effective as on 55 minutes they rattled the crossbar with Bresciano's cross-cum-shot.
Fabrizio Miccoli also came on for a top-heavy Bianconeri line-up, but when Trezeguet sprung the offside trap on Nedved's splendid through ball he fired straight at Frey, then Bonera charged down Di Vaio's follow-up.
The second half was all Juventus and there were timid penalty appeals for Blasi's handling offence on Zambrotta's cross.
The Bianconeri eventually grabbed a deserved equaliser with a former Tardini hero. Trezeguet held up the ball for a simply blistering Di Vaio volley into the top corner.
Lippi's men kept on pushing and Trezeguet's header skimmed the target soon after.
But just as they were under the most pressure it was Parma that restored their lead. Gilardino sprung the offside trap and his angled drive struck Buffon only to loop up into the far corner of the empty net.
However, there was bad news for the Gialloblu as Gilardino suffered an injury during that move and was replaced soon after.
Miccoli attempted to curl his free kick round the outside of the wall and take Frey by surprise, but Matteo Ferrari spotted the ruse and cleared the danger.
At the other end Domenico Morfeo sprung the offside trap and his angled drive was flicked inches wide of the far post by Buffon's foot.
Yet deep into stoppages Juventus equalised on 2-2 when Miccoli held up Trezeguet's pass with his heel and rattled the crossbar, but the ball came out to Igor Tudor for a crucial header.
The Bianconeri could even have won it at the death with Miccoli's counter-attack and cross, but Di Vaio incredibly nodded wide of an open goal from six yards.
Parma: Frey; Bonera, Cannavaro, Ferrari, Castellini; Barone, Blasi (Morfeo 79); Marchionni, Carbone (Donadel 69), Bresciano; Gilardino (Cammarata 82)
Juventus: Buffon; Thuram, Legrottaglie, Iuliano, Pessotto (Di Vaio 46); Appiah, Tacchinardi (Tudor 14); Maresca (Miccoli 59), Nedved, Zambrotta; Trezeguet

The battle to sign Ternana revelation Luis Jimenez is heating up and the young Chilean admits Juventus would be his dream destination.
?To be perfectly honest,? he noted, ?I would be happy with any of the big clubs in Serie A next season.?
The creative midfielder has sparked interest with his performances throughout the current campaign for Serie B outfit Ternana.
It is reported that Juve are ready to snap him up in order to tempt Lazio into parting with Stefano Fiore in a partial swap deal.
?Juventus are the ultimate goal for any football player,? he continued. ?Lazio would also make me very happy, while who wouldn?t want to join Inter??
?This would be a dream come true for me. As a child I always imagined setting foot on Italian soil and really making it in Serie A, not just as a small-time player. It might actually happen for me.?

Cesare Prandelli: ?It was a wonderful game and we perhaps should have sealed up the result a little earlier. We are at least satisfied with a squad that was not only determined, but also able to keep its cool under pressure. We believe in the work we do at this club and want to amaze everyone.?
Marcello Lippi: ?We started very well, but conceded a goal on Parma?s first real effort. We were able to react and created plenty of scoring opportunities for a deserved draw. It?s a shame we didn?t make more of our chances, but I think we did enough to win the match. Alberto Gilardino is very talented and ready for a big club.?

A last minute goal from Igor Tudor earned a point for Juventus at Parma yesterday.
Benito Carbone opened the scoring for Parma before Marco Di Vaio equalised. Alberto Gilardino again had Parma in front with 11 minutes to go before Tudor's effort.
Afterwards, Juve coach Marcello Lippi said, "We made a lot of mistakes today. At the beginning, we have started very well, but then a mistake has allowed them to score from their first chance.
"After halftime, we have tried to level with much determination. We have taken risks and managed to salvage something in the end."

Igor Tudor's last-gasp strike may have rescued a draw for Juventus FC away against Parma AC in Serie A on Sunday, but the Turin club's failure to win means they have all but lost any hope of retaining their Italian title. Marcello Lippi's side now sit 12 points adrift of leaders AC Milan with just four matches remaining and have won just twice in their last eight games in all competitions.
Tudor alert
It seemed Juventus were heading for their sixth Serie A defeat of the season until the Croatian pounced to slot the injury-time leveller after Fabrizio Miccoli's shot had hit the crossbar. Benito Carbone had put Parma into a 34th-minute lead and although Marco Di Vaio equalised 15 minutes from time, Alberto Gilardino's 18th goal of the season moments later looked to have given the home side victory.
Inter rampant
Tudor's goal meant Parma slipped to fifth position in the table, surrendering the fourth UEFA Champions League qualification slot to FC Internazionale, who defeated Bologna FC 4-2 at the San Siro. Goals from Alvaro Recoba, Fabio Cannavaro, Dejan Stankovic and Obafemi Martins secured the Milan side all three points, Claudio Bellucci grabbing two second-half strikes for the visitors.
Totti heroics
Second-placed AS Roma travelled to lowly Modena FC in the late game on Sunday and struggled to force many openings. Francesco Totti finally broke the deadlock nine minutes after half-time to ease Roma's nerves and the visitors held on to win by the most slender of margins. The capital club are nine points behind leaders AC Milan with a game in hand - the rearranged Rome derby - and face Carlo Ancelotti's side on 2 May.
Couto double
Earlier in the day, S.S. Lazio came from behind for a 4-2 win against relegated Ancona Calcio with Portuguese defender Fernando Couto twice on target. Visiting AC Perugia were edged nearer relegation after losing by the odd goal in five at the hands of Sampdoria UC, for whom Francesco Flachi scored twice.
Missed penalty
Sunday's other games both ended in stalemates, AC Chievo Verona's home match with Reggina Calcio finishing goalless and Empoli FC making hard work of a 1-1 draw against Brescia Calcio. Fabrizio Ficini put Empoli behind by scoring an own goal and Ighli Vannucchi missed a 45th-minute penalty for the home side before Mirco Gasparetto eventaully found a 73rd-minute equaliser.

04/18/2004. Marcello Lippi had positive and negative points to draw from today's match against Parma, but was generally satisfied of the overall performance of his team.
The Juventus coach declared: "There have been many good and bad things today: at first we held the game well, the defect was that they scored in the first chance they had. In the second half we tried to draw level and risked in the central part of the second half as we gave away a couple of chances on counter attack."

talian based reporter Dominique Antognoni highlights which individuals are on a high and a low after the Week 30 games.
The best?
Obafemi Martins (Inter)
This lad needs to play all of the time. Even on a bad day he can produce a little magic while on a good day he is always decisive. His goal against Bologna on Sunday reminded many of Ronaldo?s first strike in Italy ? which curiously enough was also against Bologna. His critics say that he lacks technique but that hardly matters with his pace and hunger.
Francesco Totti (Roma)
The fact that Roma won at Modena yesterday was down to one man ? captain Francesco Totti. Had he been absent then we doubt that the Giallorossi would have collected the three points. He scored a splendid goal that had power, precision and technique. How splendid it would be to see Totti play alongside Zinedine Zidane one day.
Marco Di Vaio (Juventus)
What a goal he scored against his former club. If Alex Del Piero had netted that beauty then people would be talking about it for months to come. It?s a shame that Di Vaio is only considered as a luxury reserve at the Delle Alpi.
The rest?
Jeremie Brechet (Inter)
It?s hard to understand what has happened to this player who six months ago was in the French national set-up. Now he can?t seem to play for 10 minutes without making one bad mistake.
Sam Dalla Bona (Bologna)
This is no longer the player that had numerous clubs squabbling over his signature when he left Chelsea. Dalla Bona really struggled to make an impact against Inter. He was a ghost on the pitch.
David Trezeguet (Juventus)
If he doesn?t score then he always has a bad game seeing as he rarely contributes to Juventus? overall play. He missed three clear opportunities at Parma, which led to some pundits claiming that he is already thinking of Barcelona.

Alessio Tacchinardi may not feature for Juventus again this season after picking up a knee injury.
The midfielder limped out of the 2-2 draw at Parma yesterday with a problem that could end his campaign.
The former Atalanta ace twisted his right knee at the Stadio Tardini and he will undergo tests this week in a bid to evaluate the extent of the injury.
If the player doesn?t feature again then his slim hopes of making the Italian squad for Euro 2004 will also vanish.
Meanwhile, Marco Di Vaio believes that the draw yesterday was the least that the side deserved.
The striker came on as a second half substitute where he scored and impressed against his former club.
"We played well in the first half too," he said. "After the break we started to create a few more chances after Miccoli and myself were introduced.
"We didn?t give up and scored an equaliser late on thanks to Igor Tudor?s goal. I then had a chance very late on to score again.
"It is true that we only collected one point today but we were up against a very determined side."

Stories suggesting that Alberto Gilardino will leave Parma for Juventus this summer are gathering pace.
The Under-21 international has been linked with the Turin giants for some time and showed them his ability yesterday as he scored in the 2-2 draw with the Bianconeri.
Now Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has suggested that a deal has already been done for the striker.
"I?ve asked the Bianconeri officials to loan me the player for one season. We?ll see what happens," he allegedly stated.
The 21-year-old is set to move to the Stadio Delle Alpi after netting 18 goals in the top-flight so far this term.
Gilardino could join the Turin giants as a replacement for David Trezeguet who is set for a move to Barcelona.
Milan and Manchester United have also been associated yet it seems that the Old Lady are in pole position for the young gun.
However, the Juventus transfer guru has dismissed speculation that a deal has already been done.
"Given Parma?s current situation, it is impossible to negotiate for any of their players at this moment in time," said Luciano Moggi.
The Gialloblu, who are in uncertain financial times after the collapse of Parmalat earlier this term, are currently looking for new owners.

Ajax sensation Rafael Van der Vaart could be on the verge of a summer move to Juventus.
Reports in Holland suggest that the Italian club have joined Barcelona and Manchester United in the chase for the 21-year-old.
The creative attacking midfielder, who is considered as one of the most promising players in Europe, will be available for transfer.
Ajax reportedly want around £9m for the Dutch international who could be a star at Euro 2004.
However, Juventus could get that figure lowered if they also make a swoop for teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swedish striker has been linked with the Delle Alpi side for some time even if the Old Lady have been associated with numerous other strikers.
It is believed that Parma youngster Alberto Gilardino is their primary attacking target for the summer.

Juventus star Gianluca Zambrotta has dismissed stories suggesting that he will move to Inter this summer.
Reports claim that the international will be offered to the Nerazzurri in exchange for the unsettled Christian Vieri.
But the converted left-back insists that he has no intention of leaving the Stadio Delle Alpi in the future.
"Who says I?m joining Inter? There is no better club than Juventus and I?m not even considering these stories," he said.
"After all, I have only recently extended my contract until 2008 so I won?t be leaving for Inter."
The Bianconeri have had a difficult season and look set to finish the campaign in third behind Roma and Milan.
Yet the former Bari youngster insists that anything could still happen over the last four games.
"Milan are well clear at the top but you never know," he added. "We?re aiming to finish second and will therefore watch the Rome derby this evening with interest.
"We have four games left and we want to win them all even if they won?t be easy for us. Then of course we have the Coppa Italia second leg that we are hungry for."
Juventus are only outsiders to lift the Italian Cup though after losing the first leg 2-0 to Lazio.

Barcelona ace Edgar Davids has reportedly agreed to return to former club Milan in the summer.
Rumours in Italy allege that the Dutchman flew into Milan yesterday for talks with the Rossoneri.
The Italian giants have admitted that they are keen on the player and it is alleged that an agreement has been reached.
The international will sign a three-year contract with the San Siro outfit worth around £2.3m a season.
Davids was also wanted by Inter but he has opted to join Milan ? a club that has a track record of winning.
The player, who is currently on loan at Barcelona from Juventus, will be a free agent in the summer.
The Spanish club have stated that they want to keep hold of him but he seems to have already made up his mind.
No official announcement has been made but it is believed that his arrival will be confirmed at the end of the season.
Davids had an unhappy stint with the Rossoneri after his 1996 move from Ajax. However, he was sold to Juventus in December 1997 and proved to be a key signing.
Davids excelled in Turin under boss Marcello Lippi and then Carlo Ancelotti ? the man he should now be working with again next season.

Alex Del Piero says he?s ready to help Juventus in their quest to finish second in Serie A this term.
The Italian has been sidelined for the last month with a thigh injury but expects to feature against Lecce on Sunday.
"I?m in good shape," said the Italian. "I was already available for the Parma game last week but now I?m even fitter.
"I want to make a contribution to the side in the last four games because our season is not over just yet.
"We want to finish second which would be important as we would then avoid the Champions? League preliminaries next season."
Juventus are currently third, three points behind Roma. But that gap could be increased this evening if the Giallorossi don?t lose to Lazio.
Del Piero will also use the last month of the campaign to prove his fitness to Italy boss Giovanni Trapattoni.
There are fears that the attacker may not be selected for Portugal but the No 10 insists he?ll be there. "I will go to the European Championships," he maintained.

Juventus have praised Monaco boss Didier Deschamps but they have ruled out his proposed summer arrival.
Reports have suggested that Deschamps could take over in Turin next season if Marcello Lippi quits the club.
But despite impressing again last night as his side beat Chelsea 3-1 in the Champions? League, Luciano Moggi insists the Frenchman is not being targeted.
"Didier was already a Coach when he played for us," said the director general. "He is obviously a gifted tactician but he needs to keep proving himself.
"Could Deschamps join us in the summer? We?re a club that usually make announcements about these sorts of things.
"Easter is a period usually associated with surprises and that period has now ended.
"Marcello Lippi is the Coach and we will decide his future, as we are his employers."
Meanwhile, the reigning Italian champions are today being linked with Monaco striker Fernando Morientes.
The Spaniard is currently on loan from Real Madrid and could move to the Stadio Delle Alpi in the summer.
Whispers suggest that Real would like to offer him to the Old Lady in return for defender Lilian Thuram.

Lucio has opened the door for an Italian switch by admitting he will leave Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
The Brazilian defender has been linked with a host of big clubs and he?s confirmed he will quit his current side.
"I want to take a step up in my career," said the 25-year-old. "That is why it is necessary to leave Leverkusen.
"Playing for a bigger team with a better reputation would be the best thing for me personally."
The World Cup winner has been associated with the Italian trio of Milan, Juventus and Inter.
However, he has failed to rule out a move to either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid at the end of this campaign.
"Bayern are a great club," he said. "If my family are happy to stay in Germany then I could go there.
"I would also like the chance to star for Real," he added. "It would be great to play in the Spanish League.
"If I went there then it would be much easier for me to keep scoring regularly than if I left to play in Italy or England."

Three Premiership clubs could join Barcelona in the chase to sign Juventus forward David Trezeguet.
The Frenchman is set to leave Turin this summer as talks over a contract extension have stalled.
Trezeguet, who is only tied to the club until 2005, wants an improved salary but Juve are set to sell rather than meet his requests.
Barcelona have been strongly linked with the international for some months but a switch to the Premiership could beckon.
Chelsea are monitoring the situation, with reports suggesting that they are ready to offer £8m plus Hernan Crespo in exchange.
Arsenal too would be interested as they could look to team up Thierry Henry with his French striking partner.
Manchester United may also enter the equation if they sell Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who is an alleged Real Madrid target.
Reports in the peninsula suggest that the Bianconeri officials will hold talks with Barca next week to hear their bid.
They are then expected to fly to London on May 4 to meet representatives of both Chelsea and Arsenal.

04/24/2004. BACKGROUND:
At the 'Delle Alpi' of Turin, Juventus will play their last chances to obtain the second spot in Serie A when they host relegation battlers Lecce for the 31st Serie A matchday.
On paper the bianconeri should be able to win this comfortably, however relegation battling teams always put up a good fight in the last matches of the season to avoid the fall, thus it will not be easy for the bianconeri.
Lecce however seem to give their best in the home matches, as their away record is far from impressive, even though with Chevanton they can be a threat to any team.
Juventus come from a last grasp 2-2 draw away to Parma which once again showed the character of Lippi's squad. The equalizer was scored by the returning Tudor who has spent most of the season on the sidelines due to his muscle problems.
Lecce on the other hand won 3 important points against Udinese last weekend which probably puts them more at ease for this encounter, even though next Sunday they will also be facing another difficult game at home against Inter.
TEAM NEWS:
Juventus - No suspended players for the bianconeri, however Tacchinardi (who is out for the rest of the season) and Montero are unavailable due to injury. Del Piero will start once again from the bench following his recovery, however he should come in the second half.
Lecce - Rossi will be without Vucinic and Mariniello both injured but other than that he can field his best formation.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Trezeguet (Juventus) - In the first round match, it was his goal 2 minutes from the end that gave the bianconeri a draw away to Lecce. This time round he shall try to score the winner.
Chevanton (Lecce) - Without Chevanton, Lecce would have probably already been relegated, but the Uruguay forward's goals are keeping them 4 points above the relegation zone. Will he score against Juventus too?
PROBABLE FORMATIONS:
Juventus (4-4-2) - Buffon; Thuram, Legrottaglie, Ferrara, Pessotto; Appiah, Tudor, Zambrotta, Nedved; Di Vaio, Trezeguet
Lecce (4-4-2) - Sicignano; Siviglia, Bovo, Stovini, Tonetto; Cassetti, Bolano, Ledesma, Franceschini; Konan, Chevanton

Serie A Week 31 - 25/4/04 (15.00)
Juventus - Lecce Preview
Stadio Delle Alpi
------------------------------------------------------------------
Juventus continue to struggle and face a potentially tricky obstacle in the form of relegation battlers Lecce.
The Bianconeri needed a last-gasp goal from Igor Tudor to save them from defeat at Parma last week, eventually scraping a 2-2 draw at the Tardini. That result saw second place slip further from their grasp and the defence was again torn apart by pacey forwards. This is a worrying trend, particularly with record-breaking Uruguayan international Javier Ernesto Chevanton coming to Turin. Lecce’s chances of staying in Serie A were given an enormous boost by their 2-1 home win over Udinese, but it has to be noted that their away form this season has been even more impressive.
There is bad injury news for Juve, as Alessio Tacchinardi is probably out with a knee problem, but Alessandro Del Piero could finally make his comeback almost two months after suffering a calf strain. Marcello Lippi looks likely to shelve the lone striker system by fielding Marco Di Vaio in a slightly wider position to David Trezeguet, but the man who would most relish the chance to start would be Lecce-born Fabrizio Miccoli.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Thuram, Legrottaglie, Iuliano, Zambrotta; Appiah, Tudor; Maresca, Nedved, Di Vaio; Trezeguet
Lecce (probable): Sicignano; Siviglia, Bovo, Stovini, Tonetto; Cassetti, Bolano, Ledesma, Franceschini; Konan, Chevanton

Alessandro Del Piero returned with a goal, but Juventus are humiliated by relegation battlers Lecce's first ever victory in Turin.
Juve still have a slim hope of capturing second place off Roma, so they fielded an all-attack side against Lecce. Marco Di Vaio, Pavel Nedved, Fabrizio Miccoli and David Trezeguet all started together, while Igor Tudor replaced the injured Alessio Tacchinardi.
Alessandro Del Piero was on the bench and made his comeback in the second half, two months after his calf strain.
Lecce are desperate for points that will ensure their safety in Serie A and had already held the Bianconeri to a 1-1 draw in December. Javier Ernesto Chevanton was again the main danger man.
It took just two minutes to break the deadlock with Trezeguet at the Stadio Delle Alpi. The Frenchman tapped in Gianluca Zambrotta's deflected cutback from a corner kick.
Trezeguet was relishing the service and his header was well saved by Vincenzo Sicignano after a splendid Fabrizio Miccoli cross.
On 23 minutes Gianluigi Buffon was called to punch out a fierce Axel Konan effort, but the goalkeeper was at fault for the equaliser moments later. The shot-stopper only parried Cristian Ledesma's drive after he had sprung the offside trap and Daniele Franceschini pounced on the loose ball.
Juve's top-heavy tactics played right into Lecce's hands and they took a shock lead on the half-hour mark. Konan charged up the field on the counter-attack and slammed a powerful rising effort into the roof of the net, although Buffon was again not entirely without blame.
The Bianconeri tried to fight back and a free kick from Lecce-born Miccoli skimmed the upright, but Chevanton ran away from Nicola Legrottaglie and hit cutback just failed to reach Franceschini.
Marcello Lippi realised this tactic was not working, so he removed striker Di Vaio for fullback Gianluca Pessotto, returning Zambrotta to a more advanced role.
But the defence was continually terrorised by Lecce's young and pacey strikers, so just before the break Konan scored a spectacular solo effort. The teenage Ivory Coast starlet skipped past three tackles and placed an accurate finish past Buffon with the inside of his right foot.
Lippi completed his substitutions at the dawn of the second half, switching Zambrotta back to a fullback role with Enzo Maresca boosting the midfield, while Del Piero made his comeback in place of Miccoli.
But it only got worse for the Bianconeri supporters, as Chevanton made it 4-1 to little Lecce by springing the offside trap on Ledesma's through ball and sliding his angled drive past Buffon.
Juventus managed to close the gap on 56 minutes when Maresca was left completely unmarked for a free header on Del Piero's free kick, but Lecce remained consistently dangerous every time they went past the half-way line.
Del Piero made his mark in the first game for almost two months as he brought the result back to 4-3 with an angled drive. Lecce were upset that this goal was allowed to stand as two players were down injured further up the field.
Both sides had great scoring chances in the closing stages as Buffon blocked Chevanton's effort, while Del Piero's lob was off target.
Juventus: Buffon; Birindelli, Legrottaglie (Maresca 46), Iuliano, Zambrotta; Appiah, Tudor; Di Vaio (Pessotto 35), Nedved, Miccoli (Del Piero 46); Trezeguet

Enzo Maresca has been one of Juve?s brightest stars this season, but warns his future is far from decided.
?As far as I am concerned,? insisted the midfielder, ?I am more than ready to discuss my contract renegotiation, but all I can do now is wait for an answer from the club.?
The 24-year-old former Piacenza and West Brom starlet is only tied to the Turin outfit until 2005, so failure to organise a new contract could see him leave as a free agent next summer.
?I want to know if I should stay,? he continued in an interview with Turin-based newspaper ?Tuttosport?, ?go out on loan or be sold off.?
There is a queue of clubs interested in the services of the former Under-21 international, including Inter and Lazio.
?Juventus have many doubts for next season,? he concluded, ?and one of them is me.?

Juventus have punished their players for today?s 4-3 home defeat by throwing all the players and Coach into a pre-match training camp.
?We are all going into a ritiro from this evening,? confirmed Marcello Lippi following the humiliating setback to Lecce.
?This is a decision made by the club and it applies to everyone, except those players called for international duty.?
The Bianconeri have been struggling throughout the last few months, but the shambolic display against relegation battlers Lecce proved the final straw.
Nonetheless, it is a very unusual move for Juventus to put their players in a pre-match training camp for an entire week, as it is usually a tactic taken by the smaller Italian sides.
?This wasn?t a good day for us,? continued the tactician, ?and the system we used was not to blame. We have given our opponents too many chances with both set-ups.?
Lippi was under fire for fielding a top-heavy side with four forwards and attacking fullbacks, a tactic that allowed counter-attack specialists Lecce to thrive.
It now looks as if Juventus have lost all hope of capturing second place off Roma, so they will have to go through the qualifying round for the Champions? League.
?Probably this is the end of our bid for second,? admitted the Coach, ?as it really is too difficult now.?
Juve?s one remaining objective is now the Coppa Italia, but they have already lost the first leg of the Final 2-0 to Lazio.

Gigi Buffon (Juventus)
The 4-3 loss to Lecce was possibly Buffon?s worst performance as a professional. He was that bad on Sunday that few onlookers would have thought he cost the club a massive £33m. He should have stopped at least two of the four he conceded.

Nicola Legrottaglie (Juventus)
There are no more excuses for Nicola Legrottaglie after another shocking display. He and defensive colleague Mark Iuliano were dreadful against Lecce in the defeat. The Italian international just doesn?t seem good enough at this level. Does a summer exit loom?

I personally think that we should give him 1 more year to prove his value. He should not be made into our scapegoat as the whole of Juve's defence was doing badly (Montero, Iuliano and even Thuram). Let's observe him in next season and I believe he'll be better

Parma coach Cesare Prandelli is emerging as the frontrunner to replace Marcello Lippi at Juventus next season.
Juve are understood to have tabled a two-year contract offer to Prandelli, whose demands are a great deal more modest than his nearest competition, AS Monaco trainer Didier Deschamps.
Juve are already in talks Parma about a number of their players and there is a real possibility that Prandelli will find himself working with no less than four of his current team if he does land the Turin job.
Parma defenders Daniele Bonera and Matteo Ferrari, attacker Alberto Gilardino and midfielder Manuele Blasi, who is co-owned by Juve, are all in the defending champion's sights for next season.

Chievo Verona striker Giuseppe Sculli hasn't given up on his ambition to make the grade at Juventus.
Sculli has spent the season on-loan at Chievo and revealed: "Juve have many of their young players play away on-loan in order to gain experience: I hope they take me into consideration. I am counting on it.
"This season, with Del Neri, I have learned a lot and I am ready to play for a big team."

The new Juventus is already taking shape after Coach Marcello Lippi confirmed he will quit the club.
The tactician revealed yesterday that he would be leaving the outfit and the Italian media are already speculating on what kind of Juve to expect next season.
Parma boss Cesare Prandelli (pictured) is set to pip Monaco?s Didier Deschamps for the Delle Alpi hotseat.
Whispers suggest that an official announcement could already be made sometime next week.
Prandelli, who was a midfielder with the Turin giants, is set to bring with him a host of his current players.
Striker Alberto Gilardino will be signed as a probable replacement for David Trezeguet. The Frenchman is on his way to Barcelona.
Juve will also swoop for Under-21 defender Daniele Bonera and will recall Manuele Blasi after his loan spell at the Stadio Tardini ends.
Italian stopper Matteo Ferrari is also a probable new arrival after a string of fine performances for the Gialloblu this term.
Players on their way out of Turin seem to include Mark Iuliano and Igor Tudor. Paolo Montero may also be axed.
The club are also willing to release Lilian Thuram and Pavel Nedved, the European Footballer of the Year, if a substantial bid is tabled.
Prandelli is set to use a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 system with the Old Lady next season.

Cesare Prandelli is expected to take over at Juventus next season, but insists his men must concentrate on grabbing fourth place.
?I am so focused on helping Parma get into the Champions? League that I couldn?t possibly be affected by newspaper talk,? claimed the Coach.
?I spoke with my players today and asked them to only answer questions on this team until the end of the season, out of respect for each other and the fans.?
Marcello Lippi?s confirmation that this would be his final year in charge of Juventus opened the floodgates to already existing speculation on his successor.
Prandelli?s good work at the Stadio Tardini, and his past as a Bianconeri player, has seemingly allowed him to push aside competition from Didier Deschamps and Chievo?s Gigi Del Neri.
?Lippi is one of the greats,? continued his colleague, ?both as a man and in a purely professional sense.?
According to the newspapers in Italy, Prandelli will take several Parma stars to Turin with him, including Daniele Bonera, Matteo Ferrari and Alberto Gilardino.
?We have to stay concentrated as we cannot just fritter away all that we have done so far this season. Fourth place is still in our sights and we have the right enthusiasm and commitment to achieve our aims.?
The Gialloblu welcome already relegated Ancona on Sunday afternoon and are expected to close the gap on Inter ? who face a tricky trip to giant killers Lecce.

Perugia ? Juventus
Stadio Curi
Both Perugia and Juventus will be desperate for the points this weekend ? but for totally different reasons. The Grifoni could be relegated on Sunday while the Bianconeri will be keen to prove a point after the 4-3 home loss to Lecce.
The Umbrian outfit seem doomed even if they showed that they are still ready to fight after their 1-1 draw at Brescia last week. Boss Serse Cosmi will also need to shuffle his pack with both Diamoutene and Di Loreto suspended for Week 32.
Juventus are still in with a chance of finishing second ahead of Roma but it seems likely that they will have to be content with a third place finish. However, the club were not too impressed with the performance of their players last week as they ordered the squad into a pre-match training camp.
It was an unusual step for the club but one which underlined that not everything is as it should be in Turin. The defeat also seemed to confirm that boss Marcello Lippi would not remain in his job, especially after his team selection.
He played with a 4-2-3-1 formation which included David Trezeguet, Marco Di Vaio, Fabrizio Miccoli and Pavel Nedved. It left their disastrous defence exposed as the Bianconeri were heavily punished.
Lippi is set to revert to a more traditional 4-4-2 formation with Alex Del Piero returning to the first team after his substitute appearance at the Delle Alpi. The centre back partnership of Mark Iuliano and Nicola Legrottaglie also face the chop after a shocking display. Alessandro Birindelli is suspended. Tacchinardi, Camoranesi and Conte are injury doubts.
Perugia (probable): Kalac; Coly, Nastos, Ignoffo, Fabiano; Ze Maria, Gatti, Obodo, Di Francesco; Brienza; Ravanelli
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Thuram, Montero, Ferrara, Zambrotta; Appiah, Tudor, Maresca, Nedved; Del Piero, Trezeguet

BACKGROUND:
Perugia host Juventus at the 'Renato Curi' for the 32nd Serie A matchday, in a match between two disappointed teams looking to finish their season with some positive results.
The bianconeri have passed half of this week in a training camp as a punishment for their poor results, topped by last week's defeat at home against Lecce; this type of punishment had not been used since the 1996/97 season. The second place in the league is practically a mirage now so Lippi's team does not have much to offer to this season except for the 2nd leg Coppa Italia final.
In fact the only interest this season holds for the bianconeri is about who will replace the departing Marcello Lippi at the helm of the squad. Favourites are Cesare Prandelli and Didier Deschamps with the former having a slight edge over the second.
If Perugia lose on Sunday, they will be mathematically certain that they are relegated. The club, players and coach seem to have already given up hope and only a miracle can save the Umbri from what looks like a certain relegation. Gaucci has pulled back from not sending his players on the player threat, thus Perugia will still play these last 3 games of the season, no matter what the outcome of the results are.
TEAM NEWS:
Perugia - Hubner is out injured while Diamoutene and Di Loreto are suspended for the Umbri as Cosmi plays his last cards in a bid to save the team from relegation.
Juventus - Lippi will be without the suspended Birindelli and the injured Tacchinardi, Montero and Conte, but will have Del Piero back from the first minute to partner Trezeguet upfront.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Ravanelli (Perugia) - The former Juventus player will surely give his best against the team with whom he won most of his football career trophies. 'Penna bianca' might be getting on with his age but he can still score goals as he has proved this season, especially against weak defences like the bianconeri rearguard currently is.
Del Piero (Juventus) - If the rest of the team does not have much to offer for this season, Del Piero will want to show to Trapattoni that he is ready for the Euro call-up and that he is fully recovered from his muscle problem that sidelined him for the past 2 months.
PROBABLE FORMATIONS:
Perugia (4-4-1-1) - Kalac; Coly, Nastos, Fresi, Fabiano; Ze Maria, Gatti, Obodo, Di Francesco; Brienza, Ravanelli
Juventus (4-3-1-2) - Buffon; Thuram, Ferrara, Iuliano, Pessotto; Appiah, Tudor, Zambrotta; Nedved; Del Piero, Trezeguet

Now that Marcello Lippi has confirmed this is his last year in charge of Juventus, the club and his colleagues pay tribute to the Coach.
?Lippi leaves Juve with the sound of applause ringing in his ears, including my own,? stated Honorary President Umberto Agnelli.
?During this period Lippi has given us success, popularity and many stirring emotions. The credit goes to his tenacity, hard work and gentlemanly conduct, but we mustn?t forget the great club that allowed him to do his best.?
Since taking over at the Bianconeri in the summer of 1994, this tactician has notched up five Scudetto titles, a Coppa Italia, four Italian Supercups a Champions? League, a European Supercup and the 1996 Intercontinental Cup.
His disappointing term at Inter was followed by a year?s sabbatical, but since returning to the club he has taken them to two consecutive Serie A titles.
Lippi?s comeback was in place of Carlo Ancelotti, who twice failed to capture the Scudetto by a handful of points.
?The difference between myself and Lippi,? joked Ancelotti, ?is that I wanted to stay at Juventus, whereas he had the choice. The club didn?t feel it could count on me anymore.?
Juventus were left regretting that decision last May, as Ancelotti?s Milan beat them to the Champions? League trophy in an Old Trafford Final.
The future is now unclear for Lippi, as he claims he will not Coach another club side, while the Italy job is reportedly lined up for him after Euro 2004.
?I took a year?s sabbatical during my career,? explained Fabio Capello, ?and after many winning years with a single club it is certainly helpful to take a rest.?
Fellow colleague Carlo Mazzone doesn?t think that Lippi will be putting his feet up for long.
?Marcello has everything a man needs to be in charge of the Azzurri squad. I believe he is the natural successor to Giovanni Trapattoni.?

Juventus insist that they have yet to make a decision on who will replace Marcello Lippi at the club.
The tactician has confirmed that he will leave the outfit at the end of the season and speculation suggests that Parma?s Cesare Prandelli (pictured) will take over.
However, Vice-president Roberto Bettega insists that the Bianconeri are still considering their options.
"We still haven?t decided who will be the next boss of Juventus," said the former Italian international. "We are in the process of choosing what path to go down."
Reports in Italy are convinced that Prandelli is their man but Bettega insists no deal has been agreed.
"We have great respect for him but there are numerous names that are being linked with us in the media," he added.
"Juventus will make an announcement of who will be our new Coach when we have decided as a club."
Prandelli seems to be in pole position, even if Monaco?s Didier Deschamps and Gigi Del Neri of Chievo are also in contention.
However, Deschamps would reportedly be a lot more expensive than Prandelli, while Del Neri lacks big club experience.

Serie A giants Juventus and Internazionale are reportedly eyeing a move for Udinese's Denmark international defender Per Kroldrup.

Chelsea?s Adrian Mutu could join up with his former Coach if Cesare Prandelli takes over at Juventus.
The Romanian excelled under Prandelli at Parma which saw him earn a £17m move to the Premiership last summer.
However, the youngster has had a difficult campaign in England and a summer exit is a real possibility.
Mutu started the season in fine form but he has struggled with life at Stamford Bridge in recent months.
Juventus have been interested in the former Inter player in the past and Prandelli would be keen to have him available again.
Mutu has an excellent relationship with Prandelli and the forward could represent the future of the Turin giants.
The attacker could arrive in a deal which may also include Pavel Nedved and David Trezeguet moving to Chelsea.
The latter is definitely on his way out of the Stadio Delle Alpi, while Nedved may also be sacrificed after a difficult season.

Gianni Agnelli said it best when he described Roberto Baggio as a football artist. The divine ponytail, as he is dubbed in Italy and all over the world, has awed and marvelled football fans since the late 80s during his period with Fiorentina where he caught the eye of many clubs.
His career seemed to be over already at the age of 18 when he had a serious injury which tormented him throughout his whole career but Baggio's love for football was so strong that his willpower helped him get past this difficult moment and after the operation and recovery period he was back on the pitch. For the Viola he was an icon and when the club accepted the offer to sell him to their most bitter rivals Juventus, the fans protested in front of the headquarters in Florence but it was to no avail as Baggio passed to the Turin giants just before the 1990 World Cup in which he showcased all of his class scoring an amazing goal against Czechoslovakia and forming a deadly partnership with Toto Schillaci, which made the bianconeri fans dream.
After a slow first season start, in which Baggio angered his new fans by refusing to take a penalty against his former club Fiorentina as a sign of respect, Roby showed all of his class, winning the hearts of not just the bianconeri fans but also of the whole of Italy. With Juventus, Baggio became the image of the 'Old Lady' winning the admiration of all football fans with Maradona hailing him as his only worthy heir.
He became such an important player for the team that Juventus became totally dependent on Baggio. In fact, whenever they were fighting for the Scudetto against the then almighty Milan, Juventus would end up giving in only when Baggio was out injured as the rest of the team around him seemed to lose half of its quality and ability without its captain.
His best season was definitely the 1993/94 campaign, in which Juventus won the Uefa Cup thanks to some amazing displays by Roberto Baggio which saw him win the Golden Ball award to crown a fantastic year and elevate him to International superstardom ahead of the 1994 World Cup. Before that World Cup, Italians were all hoping he would lead them to victory even if it was obvious that the Azzurri lacked a goal scoring striker and a creative midfield to be truly competitive.
After a really poor start by both Italy and Baggio, with the latter infamously calling Sacchi 'crazy' for substituting him against Norway when Italy were reduced to ten men, both the Azzurri and their number 10 leader picked up from the 2nd phase onwards when a last minute goal by Baggio equalized for the Italy against Nigeria and in extra time he scored the winner from a penalty.
In the next round, another Baggio goal towards the end of the match helped the Italians get past Spain to reach a semi-final spot against Bulgaria who yet again were eliminated by a Baggio brace. He was being tipped to lead the Italians to their 4th World Cup over Romario's Brazil. However an injury picked up against Bulgaria prevented Baggio from being at his best for the final and the whole Italian team felt this, playing a defensive match which led to the penalty shoot-out which unluckily will be remembered for Baggio's final miss because even though he had led Italy to the final, the image of the Italian 1994 World Cup is associated with his penalty miss.
Following that disappointing final, Baggio finally won the Scudetto in the 1994/95 season when Moggi, Lippi and the whole new management took over at Juventus. This led to success but also to internal problems as Lippi wanted a Juventus that was not dependent on Baggio like the previous Juve sides and this tactic paid-off even if it meant sacrificing their most representative player, as he was sold to Milan at the end of the season, to invest in the new blood, Del Piero.
Everyone was excited to watch Baggio and Savicevic play together with Milan, creativity and flair at its best; however Capello found it hard to play them at the same time. Baggio in the 1995/96 season ended up winning his second consecutive Scudetto and what was his last Serie A title.
His second season with the rossoneri was far from impressive, mostly due to the fact that he was confined to the bench as none of the coaches who were at the helm of the club during that poor Milan season were able to find him a place in the starting eleven. This led to Baggio opting to leave the Milan based club and join Bologna where he met what he considers as his best coach ever, Carlo Mazzone.
During his Bologna season, Baggio was able to achieve the highest number of goals scored in a season during his whole career, earning him a spot in the Italian national team for the 1998 World Cup and in the summer agreeing to a move to Inter. However his Inter adventure was not what he had hoped for, mostly due to clashes with his former Juve coach, Marcello Lippi, all documented on Baggio's biography.
His career seemed to be declining with no coach wanting the national hero in their team as he was considered more of a burden, but that was until Mazzone called him over to Brescia to help him avoid relegation. This was a new challenge for Baggio and he accepted and has now been in his current club for the past 5 seasons, still awing and surprising everyone with his immense class and delicious touches which still make him one of the most technical players in the world.
His physical problems might have stopped any other player, but Baggio kept going on and arrived to the top of the world. He can probably be defined as the best player of the 90s with Zidane being his closest rival. In the heart of his fans and all football lovers in general who had the opportunity to see him in action, Baggio was a show to watch and is one of those players that remind you why people love football so much.
The 'Divine Ponytail' played what is expected to be his last match for Italy against Spain on Wednesday night. He had a decent game and was unlucky not to score.
"The game will provide the most beautiful memory of my career," Baggio told RAI television.
"As a professional you enjoy victories and goals but nothing has been as beautiful and emotional as the demonstration of affection that I was given by these fans.
"(It was) a really special match for me. It's my last, apart from those that remain for me in the championship."
He added: "The applause and the banners this evening, the love of the people are the most beautiful things that will stay inside me.
"It wasn't planned for me to play so long, I should have been on for less. You can see then that the gaffer wanted to give me the chance to get a goal but, unfortunately, it didn't come.
"It was really satisfying for me to play in this match and I am grateful to all the people who showed their affection tonight and every time that I have played."

Monaco are confident that Didier Deschamps will stay, leaving the Juventus door wide open for Cesare Prandelli.
The French club are keen to keep hold of their budding tactician after reaching the Champions? League Final this season.
Deschamps is a confirmed target for the Italian outfit but the Principality side are confident he will remain.
"Obviously we want him to stay," revealed President Pierre Svara. "We are in negotiations with him and talks are going well.
"We?ve offered him a new contract until 2008 and I?m 95 per cent sure that he will still be the Monaco Coach next season."
That now leaves the Parma tactician in pole position, even if many considered him as the favourite anyway.
"We?ve spoken to both Prandelli and Deschamps and we will make a decision after May 12," Juventus director general Luciano Moggi said on Thursday.
"The Parma boss works very well with young players and he?s having a fantastic season. Deschamps was already a Coach when he was here as a player."

Alessandro Del Piero is ready to lead Italy to glory in this summer?s European Championship Finals.
There are concerns regarding his fitness but the Juventus star insists he will be fully equipped for Portugal.
"My form is almost optimal right now," he stated on Friday. "By the time the tournament kicks off I will be at my best."
The Italian ace has only just returned to first team action after being sidelined for 40 days with a thigh strain.
Yet he is set to make the Azzurri squad even if he doesn?t seem to be guaranteed a first team shirt.
Italy boss Giovanni Trapattoni is likely to field either Del Piero or Antonio Cassano of Roma in an attacking left-sided role.
"Losing the European Championship Final in the last tournament against France was the worst defeat in my career," added the No 10.
"But I?m in good shape and I believe that I can make a real contribution to the side over the summer."
Del Piero will be keen to make up for his performances at Euro 2000 when he missed two chances in the Final to increase Italy?s 1-0 lead.
Unfortunately for the Italians he didn?t score which allowed the French back into a game that they won with a Golden Goal.

Juventus - Sampdoria
Stadio Delle Alpi
Juve are now stuck with third place and must try to end their run of two consecutive defeats to give Coach Marcello Lippi an adequate send-off.
The Bianconeri have been disappointing throughout the season, but their recent form has been particularly dire with back to back defeats against relegation strugglers Lecce and Perugia, during which time they conceded five goals.
Lippi has confirmed this will be his last year in charge of the club, but his constant tactical tinkering only seems to unsettle the players. Nicola Legrottaglie steps in for the suspended Ciro Ferrara, while Paolo Montero, Alessio Tacchinardi and Antonio Conte are injured. Gianluca Zambrotta is expected to take a more advanced role in support of Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet.
Sampdoria?s hopes of earning a UEFA Cup spot took a battering last week with a surprise 3-1 home defeat to fellow Euro chasers Udinese. The Blucerchiati have fewer scorers than any other side in Serie A ? relying on Fabio Bazzani and Francesco Flachi for 24 of their total 40 goals.
It is therefore a massive blow to their chances that both these hitmen are suspended for the trip to Turin. Cristiano Doni is out for the season following surgery, so youngsters Antonio Floro Flores and Giacomo Cipriani start upfront for Samp.
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Thuram, Legrottaglie, Iuliano, Pessotto; Appiah, Tudor, Zambrotta; Nedved; Del Piero, Trezeguet
Sampdoria (probable): Antonioli; Sacchetti, Conte, Falcone, Bettarini; Diana, Volpi, Palombo, Pagano; Floro Flores, Cipriani

COME ON GUYS!!! :bounce:
Marcello Lippi has just three games left in charge of Juventus and calls for a great performance to best prepare for next week?s Coppa Italia Final.
?This match against Sampdoria will be particularly useful as preparation for the Cup Final clash with Lazio,? explained the Coach.
?If we don?t do well on Sunday, then it?ll be extremely tough for us to get back on our feet for a good performance on Wednesday.?
The Bianconeri have been disappointing throughout the campaign, but since Lippi confirmed his departure they have suffered two consecutive defeats to Lecce and Perugia.
?After two such negative outings, we cannot help but expect a fightback. This is why I am confident we?ll see my Juventus ? the side that has done so well throughout the years.?
The match with Sampdoria will be his final Serie A game at the Delle Alpi, but Lippi won?t be waving goodbye to the fans just yet.
?The Coppa Italia Final is also in Turin, so I will wait for the Lazio game before saying my farewell,? he noted.
Juve could well end the season empty-handed, as they must recover from a 2-0 first leg defeat at Lazio.

BACKGROUND:
At the 'Delle Alpi' of Turin, the crowd will salute Juventus for the last home league match of the season in Serie A's 33rd matchday against Sampdoria, but will most importantly salute Marcello Lippi before Wednesday's Coppa Italia final against Lazio in which he will be sitting on the Juve bench for the last time in his career.
Since dropping out of the title race, Juventus have had poor outings losing their two last consecutive matches against modest outfits Lecce and Perugia and only achieving their last win a month ago when on the 10th of April the bianconeri defeated Lazio at home. With no motivation to play for any important objective, Lippi's team lost all concentration and willpower, thus being easy prey of more motivated teams.
Sampdoria are more or less in a similar position to the bianconeri, as last week's defeat at home against Udinese practically sees them losing out on the Uefa Cup placing and therefore have nothing left to play apart from pride. Still, for a newly promoted team, the blucerchiati have done extremely well and an 8th place position can be considered a very important target.
TEAM NEWS:
Juventus - Marcello Lippi will have to play without the suspended veteran Ferrara and injured Tacchinardi, Montero, Camoranesi and Antonio Conte.
Sampdoria - Problems up front for Walter Novellino who will have both his starting forwards (Bazzani and Flachi) suspended while Doni and Mirko Conte are injured.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Del Piero (Juventus) - With the Euros a month away, Del Piero needs to find his best form in order to deserve a call-up by Trapattoni, therefore he will need to perform very well in these last games to prove he's back on top.
Cipriani (Sampdoria) - Whenever Flachi was unavailable, Cipriani substituted him very well, coming out with some great performances and scoring important goals.
Juventus (4-4-2) - Buffon; Birindelli, Thuram, Legrottaglie, Pessotto; Zambrotta, Maresca, Tudor, Appiah; Del Piero, Di Vaio
Sampdoria (4-4-2) - Turci; Zenoni, Carrozzieri, Falcone, Sacchetti; Diana, Volpi, Palombo, Pagano; Floro Flores, Cipriani

With Lippi's announcement that he will be leaving Juventus at the end of the season, and therefore the end of a 10 year cycle in which the 'Old Lady' practically won all there was to win, including 5 Scudettos, 1 Champions League and 1 Intercontinental Cup, the race is hot for who will be sitting on the bench of the bianconeri next season. The main candidates are Cesare Prandelli of Parma and Didier Deschamps of Monaco who both were former Juventus players and therefore know the environment and pressure that would await them in Turin.
Both coaches have proved their worth during the season by obtaining some excellent results both domestically and in Europe which have propelled them among the best young coaches on the European football scene. They both have their pros and cons which obviously the Juventus directors are analyzing methodically before deciding on their next coach and since this is a very important decision, with which they hope to open a new successful cycle, Moggi and the rest of the triad are taking things slowly.
Cesare Prandelli was handed a mammoth task when Parma had to sell some of their best players in January, including Adriano, and few would have expected that the gialloblu would have lasted the pace for the last Champions League spot; and yet here they are, 2 matchdays away from the end of the season, 2 points above Inter and Lazio. Prandelli's side not only obtained important results, but they also did so by playing attractive football and launching youngsters like Gilardino, Ferrari and Bonera who have extremely impressed in Serie A.
On the other hand, Didier Deschamps' squad was expected to challenge for the French title, but few gave them much chance of even making it to the last 8 of the Champions League, let alone arriving up till the final, defeating (and at times even crushing) on the way much richer and stronger on paper teams like Deportivo, Real Madrid and most recently Chelsea. Therefore in theory Deschamps can still win the French league and the Champions League to mark a triumphant season for this young coach, whose tactical knowledge has been highlighted by most pundits and his quality of bringing the best out of his players has earned him the respect of his fellow coaches. In fact, players like Giuly, Rothen, Prso, Evra and Squillaci have improved under his firm hand and with Morientes re-capturing his best form after a season on the bench with Real Madrid.
As mentioned before, both Prandelli and Deschamps have their pros and cons which the Juventus directors are weighing in order to take a final decision which they will hope will be a long partnership that would benefit both the coaching career of the chosen one and the club's fortunes in terms of silverware for the coming seasons. So let's take a look at each coach's credentials:
Prandelli's Pros
- He used to play with Juventus in the past, therefore knows what to expect from this demanding environment
- Has proved himself in Serie A this season, thanks to some great results obtained with Parma which have put them in the driver's seat to obtain the fourth place and therefore Champions League spot ahead of teams such as Inter and Lazio who have a bigger and more quality-full squad, thus highlighting even further Prandelli's work
- Prandelli showed that he can get the best out of his players and help the young players like Gilardino become important players immediately without feeling the loss of Adriano
- His wage demands are not high
- He is ready to accept a closed packet from Juve, that is he will not be demanding any guarantees on the transfer funds and accept the decisions of the club in this respect
- Prandelli would probably bring with him Gilardino and Bonera
- Plays attractive attacking football, mostly using the 4-2-3-1 formation
Prandelli's Cons
- His track record prior Parma is not that impressive, being fired by Venezia 2 years ago after an extremely poor start to the season
- In the Uefa Cup the gialloblu were shockingly eliminated by a modest Turkish side, thus his European experience is still far from perfect, especially since the Juve board will want to put the Champions League as their priority next season
- Parma is a good team, but obviously does not have the same pressure that the Juve bench would carry since he would be expected to win the Scudetto straight away and challenge for the Champions League
Deschamps' Pros
- Just like Prandelli, he used to be a Juve player. Lippi used to call him at the time his field coach as he used to instruct the other players where to stay and what to do
- Thanks to this brilliant season, he has proven himself both in the French league and in the Champions League, an important point which might ultimately sway the decision in favour of the French coach
- Morientes regenerated himself under Deschamps and other players who were considered just as good players but nothing else, have become hot transfer market players for this summer.
- He would be bringing with him some Monaco players, such as Morientes, Rothen and Squillaci
- His tactical knowledge and the way his team never seems to be out of position has been applauded by most critics
- Used to fight for the league title and proved his way in the Champions League by defeating stronger teams with attractive and solid football
Deschamps Cons
- His wage demands are higher than Prandelli's and Juventus is known for trying not to pay too much
- He will not accept a closed package as he demands guarantees on the transfer market so to be able to build the team he wants
- He is relatively young for a coach, thus doesn't have that experience which older coaches would normally be associated with
Both coaches have probably what it takes to start a new Juve cycle, however taking the right decision on which coach to trust the squad with will be a very important and delicate decision.

personally i'll choose Deschamps but is almost 99% confirmed Prandelli will be ur new coach. he works well with youngsters and i hope he can play Maresca more often and increase his chance at national team
as for come back from disappointing season, it really depends who u're going to buy. i'm very sure Prandelli will bring Gilardino and Ferrari, and if Moggi really to spend $ on new defenders and a playmaker, why not! afterall Juve still have a team of good players

BACKGROUND:
The final silverware of the Italian season will be decided on Wednesday night as Juventus host Lazio at the 'Delle Alpi' of Turin for the second leg of the Coppa Italia final, in what will also be Marcello Lippi's final bow in front of his own fans.
The first leg, which was played 2 months, was won by Lazio with a 2-0 score at the 'Olimpico' stadium of Rome, which gives the biancocelesti a good advantage over the bianconeri for the aggregate and eventual trophy win.
Motivations will not be lacking as both sides need a win out of this encounter to save a bittersweet season in which they had more disappointments than joys. Lazio are virtually out of the race for the fourth place, even though they had this position for most of the season, as only the combined negative results of both Inter and Parma along with a biancoceleste win would give them the last available Champions League spot, which is quite frankly highly unlikely.
The Old Lady will put its season back on its feet with their 10th Coppa Italia trophy, but another defeat would leave them empty handed apart from the Italian Super Cup which was won at the start of the season against Milan. Lippi and his players want to end this successful cycle with yet another win which would be added to their 5 Scudetti and 8 trophies already won in the 8 and a half years of the Lippi era.
With both teams going to give their best for this cup final, the encounter should be highly entertaining with Juventus pushing forward from the start to score at least one goal before half time while Mancini's squad will try to hold back and counter attack back hoping to score that goal which would close the encounter in their favour.
Moggi also promised that he will be revealing the name of Lippi's successor after the match with Prandelli now most surely taking over as he beat the stiff competition of former Juve player Deschamps.
Mancini will hope to win this trophy to open a new cycle just like the in the mid-90s when the winning Cragnotti cycle started with a Coppa Italia win. The Lazio coach is extremely disappointed at missing out on the Champions League and a defeat in the Italian Cup might make him think twice about staying in Rome next season with clubs such as Inter and Real Madrid linked with the former number 10.
TEAM NEWS:
Juventus - Midfield problems for Marcello Lippi who will have Tudor (suspended) and Tacchinardi, Camoranesi and Conte (injured). Appiah is also highly in doubt following last weekend's broken nose during Juventus-Sampdoria while Montero is still unavailable.
Lazio - No formation problems for Roberto Mancini who will have Cesar back at full service and Gottardi and Favalli back in the squad.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Trezeguet (Juventus) - Probably his last chance to win a trophy with Juventus as the French striker is expected to leave the club at the end of the season with destination being one between Barcelona and Chelsea.
Fiore (Lazio) - He is Juve's nightmare, having scored a good number of goals against the bianconeri in the past 2 seasons, the last of which was a brace in the first leg match at the Olimpico.
PROBABLE FORMATIONS:
Juventus (4-3-1-2) - Buffon; Birindelli, Thuram, Legrottaglie, Pessotto; Zambrotta, Maresca, Appiah; Nedved; Miccoli, Trezeguet
Lazio (4-4-2) - Sereni; Oddo, Stam, Mihajlovic, Favalli; Fiore, Giannichedda, Liverani, Cesar; Lopez, Inzaghi

Juventus vice-president Roberto Bettega has held further talks with Chelsea over the sale of striker David Trezeguet.
The French international ace will be sold by Juve at the end of the season, with the Turin giants demanding £14 million for the striker.
Trezeguet favours a move to Barcelona, where he has already verbally agreed personal terms. But the Spanish club are only offering £10 million for the Frenchman.
Meanwhile, Bettega is locked in talks with Chelsea chief Peter Kenyon and has told the London giants they can sign Trezeguet for £14 million.
This will be the last window Juve have to realistically make money on the ex-Monaco striker, whose current deal expires at the end of next season.

Twelve Italian clubs are to be probed by anti-Mafia police into alleged links between gambling and organised crime.
News of the investigation broke this morning when a Naples based anti-Mafia unit visited the headquarters of Siena.
The Tuscan outfit insisted that they were victims in the whole affair, while revealing that another 11 Italian clubs were connected in the investigation.
"We are very calm about the situation," stated director general Walter Scapigliati. "That is because we are the victims in this case."
The club also issued a statement which helped to fully outline what had actually occurred today.
"Police have opened an investigation regarding gambling and organised crime, one which may involve a number of players," it read. "Twelve clubs are involved on a national scale."
The identity of the other clubs have since been revealed, with three other Serie A sides being mentioned.
They are Chievo, Lecce and Reggina. The Serie B and C outfits named are Piacenza, Ascoli, Lumezzane, Sassari, Taranto, Catanzaro, Crotone and Fermana.
Unconfirmed reports allege that some of this season?s games could have been affected, with the aid of some players, after a string of suspicious internet bets.
It was alleged that as many as 20 players could be involved and five have already been named as part of the investigation.
It?s been reported that Siena?s Roberto D'Aversa, Generoso Rossi ? who has now left the club - and Nicola Ventola are helping police with their enquiries.
Grosseto player Salvatore Ambrosino and former Juve Stabia player Vincenzo Onorato are doing the same.
Eight other people are also aiding the authorities. No charges have been made against any clubs or individuals and the investigation continues.
Lecce President Quirico Semeraro said: "The police arrived and asked for documents which we have given them. We have nothing to do with this."
Reggina chief Lillo Foti added: "They can do all the checks that they want. We are as calm as Siena are."

Juventus must overcome a 2-0 first leg deficit against Lazio, but Marcello Lippi believes he can leave the club with a trophy in his hand.
?We will play this game with the strong conviction that we can achieve something great,? said the tactician ahead of Wednesday?s Coppa Italia Final.
?All we need is two goals to level the aggregate scoreline and once you get to extra time it becomes a whole different match. We?ll try and give everything we?ve got left at the end of this difficult season.?
Lippi has confirmed he will be moving on in the summer, but hopes to say goodbye to the Delle Alpi without ending the campaign empty-handed.
However, he is still struggling with injury worries, the latest being Stephen Appiah?s fractured nose.
?Appiah is available, but we must be cautious with his condition. As for the rest, we?ll have to make do with the players at our disposal, but this isn?t the kind of talk I want to hear ahead of a Final.?
Juventus will certainly be without Alessio Tacchinardi, Mauro German Camoranesi, Antonio Conte and the suspended Igor Tudor.
Morale was boosted by the fact Lazio lost to Brescia at the weekend, but Lippi insists this is only going to fire their opponents up more.
?Losing sight of fourth place means the Coppa Italia is now their only remaining objective for the season. We will throw in all our grit and determination and I feel we?ve still got something to give.?
The Coach has been tipped for the Italy job, although he has already left Juventus once before and returned with great success.
?Is this goodbye or a see you again soon? Well, you know what they say in Italy, there?s no two without a three.?

The traditional weekend Serie A schedule could be revamped next season, according to reports.
Broadcasters Sky Italia are hoping to get the green light to introduce a Sunday lunchtime and Monday evening game.
Whispers suggest that almost all of the clubs are in agreement even if there are a few concerns regarding the Monday game.
Given the fact that most of the big clubs will be in European action during the week, the Monday tie will therefore mainly feature smaller sides.
It now seems likely that there will be two Serie A games played on Saturday, at 18.00 and 20.30 local time.
One Sunday game will kick-off at 13.00, with the rest to follow at 15.00. The Monday match will be scheduled for 20.30.
The proposal wouldn?t cause any problems with the TV contract that the Federation has in place with national broadcasters RAI.
That agreement states that at last six games must be played on Sunday at 15.00 ? something that will occur as next season?s top-flight has been expanded to 20 teams.

Monaco boss Didier Deschamps is reportedly back in the race to take over at Juventus next season.
It was believed that Parma?s Cesare Prandelli was in pole position but the Frenchman seems to be a serious contender again.
The Old Lady have already confirmed that one of the two men will replace Marcello Lippi in the summer.
Stories last week indicated that Prandelli would be handed the job after his success this season but also because of his salary.
Deschamps reportedly wants a £2m a season deal but Prandelli would only expect around half of that amount.
However, stories on Wednesday suggest that the Deschamps has lowered his asking price which could tempt Juventus into a rethink.

Marcello Lippi has the chance to win one last trophy with Juventus FC tonight when his side face S.S. Lazio in the return leg of the Coppa Italia final in Turin.
Lazio lead
Lippi, 56, is in his final week as Juventus coach before retiring at the end of the season and he believes his players will "give everything they have" to ensure he goes out on a high. Two goals from Italian international Stefano Fiore gave Lazio a 2-0 victory in the first leg on 17 March and it will take a great effort if Juventus are to claim the trophy for the tenth time in their history.
'A lot to give'
However, Lippi - who has won a total of 12 trophies in his two spells at the Stadio Delle Alpi - said: "We still have a lot to give, both physically and mentally. I know my players will give everything they have. I'm certain we will play a great match. We have to win 2-0 and after the final whistle, we will start another match."
Tudor suspended
Juventus are without the suspended Igor Tudor, as well as Alessio Tacchinardi, Antonio Conte, Paolo Montero and Mauro Camoranesi who are all injured. Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet will play up front with Pavel Nedved just behind them and Enzo Maresca and Stephen Appiah in midfield.
Fiore threat
For Lazio coach Roberto Mancini, there are fewer worries. He could decide to field Bernardo Corradi alone in attack with Fiore supporting him. The latter is the leading scorer in the competition having scored twice in the first leg to add to his three goals in the semi-final against AC Milan.
Mancini's record
Lazio have lifted the Coppa Italia four times and in Mancini have the most successful individual in the competition's history. The 40-year-old has won the trophy seven times - four times with UC Sampdoria and twice with Lazio as a player, and once with AC Fiorentina as a coach.
'It won't be easy'
"We want to win, we don't just want to defend our two-goal advantage," Mancini said. "It will depend on us, we have to avoid any kind of mistake. It won't be easy because Juve really want this trophy and they will try everything to win it." With both clubs approaching the end of largely disappointing seasons, victory tonight would provide at least some consolation ahead of the summer break.

Serie A Week 34 - 16/5/04 (15.00)
Siena - Juventus Preview
Stadio Franchi
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Boss Marcello Lippi brings an end to his Juventus career with an away trip to the already safe Siena. The tactician has won five League titles with the Bianconeri during eight campaigns in Turin and the side will be keen to send him off with a victory.
He does have some selection problems though even if Juventus can’t improve on their third place finish. Tacchinardi, Montero, Camoranesi and Conte are all doubts, while there are concerns over David Trezeguet who may have already played his last game for the club.
Siena have had a great campaign and their top-flight status was guaranteed with a 3-1 win at Modena last week. Flo and Chiesa were initially dropped from that game but they should return to the line-up this week with nothing to play for. Cufre and Ventola won’t feature as they are suspended.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Siena (probable): Fortin; Cirillo, Argilli, Mignani, Guigou; Taddei, Menegazzo, Cucciari, Lazetic; Flo, Chiesa
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Birindelli, Thuram, Legrottaglie, Pessotto; Zambrotta, Maresca, Tudor, Nedved; Del Piero, Di Vaio
