Hey folks

I am visiting Melbourne in early - mid Sep for 3-4 days. Need some tips and advice..

Questions:

1) Any must-do or must visit in City/CBD area/St Kilda which we shouldnt miss? Or if its easier for you, anything or place you have done and think should skip cos its waste of time? :s22:

2) Any nice cafe to recommend? I heard melbourne have great coffees.
Any other food/drinks/restaurant recommendation are most welcomed!

3) Anyone done biking to tour the city? Is it convenient and great experience?

4) Which area do u all tend to stay?

5) Which markets would u recommend and why?

Look forward to your tips! :):D

Hi there,

Besides the Queen Victoria Market and the Summer night market.
You may want to visit St Kilda area.

- Esplanade Market is held every Sunday

-St Kilda beach

-Acland Street for the cakes

Have Fun!

Thanks beano n Merkava for your reply and recommendation.

Just had a look at the links. Night market is certainly of great interest but seems like the summer night market only starts in November?

Oh my.. acland street link made me drooling!!=:p

Besides market, what else should we check out at St Kilda? Will we need 1 full day there? Esp when I might not be there on Sunday...

Ya, QV night market starts from Nov.
I just want to highlight to you... haha, cos I LOVE the night market.

You may visit St Kilda's beach, visit Luna Park (St Kilda) if you have kids. Nothing fantastic in the Luna park but since it is FREE admission, why not take a look.

There are a few restaurants/cafes by the beach, and you can visit Acland Street.
You may want to start early in the morning, and perhaps will takes only half a day.

I stayed at OAKS @ Market Street for few times, walking distance to the Casino and CBD. I have also tried Somerset Apartments, central location but quite pricey. Both as good in my opinion, as I preferred apartment with Fully equipped Kitchen.
