Thanks for all the replies.

For Day 1, just planning to relax abit so not much activities.

Planning to visit Fremantle market and museums. Day 2 is on Sunday so thought it may be a good time to visit. Not intending to visit the prison since I got a young kid.

For Albany and Margaret River, they are mostly beaches and coastlines? Seems to be a long drive.

For city, planning for zoo, mint, museums, scitech perth and watertown.

If you're not comfortable with long drives, just break it down further.. WA is all about the south west.. do some research on Albany and MR, there's so much to see and do there..

hello! sorry to hijack. planning to make a trip to Perth in March next year (is it a good time to go? too hot?) SQ having promo about $450, is that a good deal?

first time there for both bf and i so will really appreciate all help! thinking to go for a week but flexible for more/less days.

i was reading thru the thread so common routes are Perth > MR > Albany. Is 7 days enough? I'm also thinking to go Kalbarri national park then I realized it's the other direction so I guess is not doable unless I go >1 week (which also means driving all the way back to Perth and UP to Kalbarri)

Thanks in advance!

I decided on an impromptu trip to Perth next weekend as I have expiring miles.

I will be there 4D 3N and will be using public transport.

Should I get their equivalent of our EZ link card?
If so, where can I purchase it?

Of are there better options?

What is the best way of getting from the airport to the CBD?
Public bus or shuttle bus?

TIA!

Honestly don't waste time on day 5.. suggest you drive all the way to Albany and work your way back up, you see and do more..

It should be something like this

Day 1 - Kings park/City
2 - Fremantle, Perth city
3 - Albany
4 - Pemberton/Margaret river
5 - Margaret river/Dunsborough
6 - Busselton/Mandurah/Perth
7 - Pinnacles
8 - Perth

I don’t think it’s enough to spend day 3 on Albany. By the time you drive from Perth to Albany, it would be late afternoon.

7 days should be sufficient. If it’s $450 on SIA, I would take it.

Try to spend at least 2 days each in Albany and MR areas. Or you can stopover one night in Pemberton in between.

Not really, just takes 4.5hrs to get to Albany and if you start early, you can reach by noon..

Do some stuff in the late afternoon, then following morning still can do others. If not enough, can stay 1 more night..

I believe there's some public buses that goes to the city.. you might be able to buy from the newstands in the airport

They use the transperth card..

It's crazy to do Albany and Kalbarri in 1 trip.. either choose 1 or the other..

I don't recommend driving to Albany straight for 4.5hrs especially if you only have 1 driver. I've driven this route a few times and I would suggest taking breaks in between so give about 6hrs.

Can anyone share their experience in Crown Perth?
I don't intend to go to the casino but just walk around there and have a meal.
Is it a happening place to be? Something like MBS?

I've only been there once to have dinner at Rockpool. Not very big actually...

They cannot walk a lot.

Depends on what they want to do. The island is quite big so people usually cycle around. If the old folks are happy to just sit around near the main jetty, there are cafes and quokkas in the vicinity.

I think not worth it if they cannot explore the island.
Any alternative for rottness island? Rockingham wild encounter?
