[Official] BlackBerry Q30 or Passport.

Yesterday at the BlackBerry Annual Shareholder Meeting, BlackBerry CEO, John Chen also showcased the high-end BlackBerry Q30 also known as BlackBerry Passport, codename Windermere.

The BlackBerry Q30 will have a 4.5 inch screen with a 1440 x 1440 resolution. We are told that the pixel density will be 480ppi. So far, so good. A quad-core Snapdragon CPU is under the hood, with the Adreno 330 GPU handling graphics. The device will feature 3GB of RAM and there will be a 13MP camera on back. A non-removable 3450mAh battery is on board. Not forgetting the powerful stereo speaker (like Z30) can also be expected.

Happy to see this qwerty plus-size format, but am concerned about ergonomics, specifically, bottom row keys too close to bottom edge; will be hard to thumbtype

Also a missed opportunity to add dedicated keys, e.g. number row, punctuation keys, etc

As far as I can tell you, ergonomics for Americano is no problemo. BUT for petite Asians... it varys.

Why do you need a number row and punctuation key row?

previous phone was htc chacha; more dedicated keys compared to bb, which need to press alt key

e.g. no need to press alt for keys like
- question mark
- full stop
- comma

from photo above, you can also see the adequate space between bottom row of keys and bottom edge of device

i also miss the arrow keys

A clearer pic for side by side comparison between classic and Q30. all these not the final design right and any official leak spec for classic?

Posted alr what... These are the final. And these are the slides given last week officially.

But classic really looks different in real life... closer to 9900 that kind of "belt"

And...chacha wasn't a success was it?

I my as well use this:

Trackpad does all the arrow job, and even more versatile already... Plus u can always ctrl+alt to enable it... haha... Too many keys are not good either... IMHO... But theres no one product fits all....
