Switching blackberry devices

Hello all,

I am switching from one blackberry model to another blackberry model. Is there a guide to do a proper switch, IE only copy those that I want, and leave those that are unwanted as it is?

For example, I only want to copy the contacts, sms, emails over from the old device to the new device. Can I do this using the desktop manager, via restoring from back-up?

Oh okay thanks. So can I say that all backup files from blackberry 9xxx can be used for blackberry 97xx as well? IE backup files for all blackberries can be accessed by all models?
