Esso promo: HoluxS TrackNavi 61B

Selling at $119. Any feedback on this? Thinking of replacing my old useless Garmin that always only manages to connect when I reach the destination

Will be very seldom used so no need those high end powderful fanciful ones. Just want a simple one that does its job (ie connects easily and good map). Is SLA map updatable foc? Or gotta pay?

Holux using Galactio software. Ok lah... The SLA update is free and Galactio doesn't update map that frequently. PCShow is on this Thursday, check it out, sure to have offer and more gps choice.

$119 seems cheap enough for me. few years ago spent like 300+ or duno whether issit 400 on my old garmin... forgot the model... something like 225 or 255 or what. really bueh tahan that one. but since got pcshow... hmm... can consider... although back of my mind not really willing to kueh sio for a $100 gadget.

but btw, which is the "THE" gps nowadays? or at least the combi? eg what brand, what software, what map combi is the more popular/user frenly now?

Yes, saw the promotion too. Not sure about the spec and performance of this 61B model. Anyone use this before? Can't seem to find any review on it too.

Do check out PC show if you are in need of GPS. All the GPS brands will be in there and also there are sales representatives there to enquire which is more better than seeing it on the shelf in esso.

Personally for myself i look at the country origin of the GPS and the OS its using to process the GPS. I rather spend abit more within a 100 to purchase from better well known brands .

for me , I bot a tomtom via 220 last IT show in march at 159 and its working to my requirements and expectations till now so far. Cant really see it start to fail

Had bad experience buying"aigo" due to thinking its the same function and is 30-50 buck cheaper than those established brands. The damn gps starts showing me problem within 2 moths which is slow in reception for 10-15 mins (in car dunno travel till ilang already) and always give misleading verbal instructions like should say turn left instead of keep left when there is really lanes that are divided left and right with an additional turn left lane( this had been from the start i 1st use , tahan onli). plus screen distortion , end up dl go buy another one. anyway its made in "China" . Btw , holux is from taiwan

.
