I am driving one now. I would say its worth the price. The comfort, functions and power of the car is good.
Service wise, free 3 servicing 15k, 30k and 45k (include labor, not like japanese car, have to pay labor).
I got the 1.4 TSI, fuel comsumption of 1.4litre , power of 1.8 letre engine.
Finally someone answer my questions. But I heard alot of complains on their before and after sale services. How about after the first 3 free servicing? Is their service good and can other private car workshop service VW cars? I seriously do not wish to have headache with after sale servicing after paying so much for a car.

For others who answered, YES!!!! I agree VW car is overpriced with premium about ave of 30% but car value is only about the same as most Jap car.

VW is treated like trash in Europe..

it's like the toyota of europe
But we are paying like $100k here for the cheapest model.

There are third party reputable shops that does VW/Audi like HAT (Horizon Auto Tuners). Servicing dates waiting time are approx 1 month.

The problematic batch of 7 speed dsg clutch is from 2 years ago batch and has been rectify already. Those affected were given extended warranty.

But I got to say the 7 speed dsg twin charged 1.4 is bloody good!

Volkswagen is heavily overpriced in Singapore. It is dirt cheap in China.
You are right. But this is common for most European models.

What you heard is correct. Basically you have to play for the car do not develop some major problem. Part waiting time is long.

In general, if you ask those second hand car dealer. They will tell you if you want to buy European car, Get those with M and sometime B brand. Not some much on B brand as it also start for Bring Me Worry - hard to get repair outside agent.

Most China VWs are locally made.

Singapore ones from Germany.
Wrong again. Very few of them actually from Germany. Example, Jeta is from Maxico !!
