Hello there, I am heading to Shanghai tomorrow. Can someone please confirm that starhub with data autoroaming can "bypass" the great firewall of China?

Any SIM card that is roaming in China is able to access Facebook Google WhatsApp.
So yes. ST Dataroam, SH Happy Prepaid, M1 Data Passport.

I used the starhub postpaid datatravel asia pacific 3GB ($20) plan when I was in Yunnan in November. Connection was rather good in Lijiang and Dali, but I had abit of spotty connection in Tiger Leaping Gorge at some parts on the trail.

For those that sign up VPN. Please remember to sign in to your account and make sure that auto renewal is turned off! I just checked my monthly statement that i was charged monthly for the past 6 months for this ExpressVPN.. i was shocked and i quickly signed in to my account to check since i only sign it up for my Beijing trip back in May for only a month usage. Haiz.. paying the VPN for nothing for 6 months
