I'll be visiting Yunnan this month, but my itinerary doesn't cover Baosan.

I started my tour of Yunnan with a visit to the Stone Forest, a very neat and well maintained place. The spring blossom at this time of the year gives it a touch of pink.

DongChuan Red Land

Dong Chuan Red land is a memorable stop in Yunnan, certainly not to be missed. This mountainous region above 2000m has a soil structure rich in copper which gives it a characteristic reddish brown colour. It is also a very windy region that is exploited for its wind energy with the construction of numerous wind turbines. Early morning wind can give you the chill.

Yunnan Dali

When it comes to Yunnan, Dali is never left out. This ancient walled city was an important seat of administration in ancient times and the wall was reinforced during the Ming dynasty. The Bai ethnic minority is a dominant cultural force here. It is also nestled close to the Erhai Lake, a pristine lake one third the size of Singapore. Spring is a good time to visit Dali

Yunnan Lijiang

Lijiang is the most beautiful ancient town in Yunnan. This 800 yr-old town is very well preserved, and it would take days to explore this sprawling town entirely. Its charm is exemplified by the many small bridges and flowing streams, and the many small shops, cafes and restaurants alongside. The Chinese phrase “小桥流水” is a very apt description for this charming town.

Hi guys, I'm planning a trip to Yunnan in September. Would like to know if anyone had rented a car without driver there?
