If you always make purchases in foreign currencies or when overseas, you may wish to charge your purchases to Maybank Horizon Card.

For overseas purchases or purchases in foreign currencies, you will earn 5X Treats' Points.

Currently Maybank allows you to use your Treats Points to convert to Cash to offset your bill (it works like rebates):
Platinum tr'eats Exclusive > Cards > Personal > Maybank2u.com Singapore

For every 12,500 points, you can redeem for S$50. Which means that so long you charge S$2,500 in foreign currency, you will get 12,500 points (S$1 equivalent will get you 5 points).

So that works out to 2% cash rebate (as 2% of S$2,500 will give you S$50).

Yes, it will include hotel and airfare. It will exclude cash advance or purchase of casino chips (as they label that as quasi-cash transaction) or the fees levied on account (e.g. annual fee).

So long as you join the Infinite Rewards Program, points will never expire:
Rewards-infinite > Cards > Personal > Maybank2u.com Singapore

First year is free. If you charge all your Ez-link Auto-topup to the card, you will get 4% rebate.

To enjoy waiver for subsequent years, just charge S$18,000 annually to the card.

amex is not widely accepted worldwide while visa is. In addition, amex has higher charges for foreign transaction.
