Looks like its the best card for mileage accrual now. Damn it, just when I figured out all the possible permutations and got various cards to maximize mileage, uob has to throw in a very competitive card.

I like that it's 1.6miles /2.5 miles from the start and u still get miles with the annual fee waiver.

No other significant benefits on top of that though.

hmm..if im not wrong, you earn UNI$ before they convert into miles. UNI$ have an expiry period which is something to note.

Yup that is another problem if its UNI$

then u have to dump inside your miles agent like KF which have 3 yrs

PM still looking the best, might earn slightly less miles (0.4 miles per dollar less) but your miles never expire, and Visa is relatively more widely accepted than Amex? LOL :s12:

Haha. I felt that way too initially, but looking at it, I don't see any distinct advantage of the Citibank PM card (which I've used as my main card for almost 2 years).

Edit: ah didn't realize they expire. Then agin,2 yra as uni$, 3 as KF miles, should be enough :)

It is a 30% difference, which can add up to quite a bit actually...

i think i can cancel the Altitude AMEX already

i'm going to europe with my wife and usually the man's pocket will hurt... so i did a simple comparison between Maybank Horizon & this card - this card wins for overseas spending in terms of redeeming for $50 reward (cash credit vs Isetan voucher)

the question is - which one has a higher foreign transaction fee?

Chanel, LV, Prada & Hermes considered as a store worldwide that sells clothes, shoes or bags as its main business activity right?

They do.

It is same as Citibank Rewards Card. 10x

Local / Overseas same as long as bags/shoes/clothing main business and also Departmental Store.

Only difference is Citibank Round down to the nearest $1 and UOB round down to nearest $5.

Also things like expiry time and 1 being Visa and the other is AMEX and such.

Visa has lower overseas transaction fee than amex

Take note of the Terms n condition:

http://www.uob.com.sg/personal/cards/credit/uob_prvi_miles_card/microsite/assets/pdfs/tnc.pdf

1) 1.6 miles for every S$1 spent in Singapore
UOB PRVI Miles Cardmembers will earn 4 UNI$ for every S$5 spent for transactions in Singapore
dollars, which is equivalent to 1.6 miles for every S$1 spent, and excludes Installment Payment Plan,
SMART$ transactions, funds transfers, cash advances, fees, interests and other financial charges.

2) 2.5 miles for every S$1 spent overseas
UOB PRVI Miles Cardmembers will earn 6.25 UNI$ for every S$5 spent for card transactions in foreign
currencies, which is equivalent to 2.5 miles for every S$1 spent, and excludes Installment Payment Plan,
SMART$ transactions, funds transfers, cash advances, fees, interests and other financial charges. In
the event the UNI$ awarded is in decimal points, the final UNI$ awarded for each transaction will be
rounded down to the nearest whole figure. Card transactions made overseas but effected in Singapore
dollars will be treated as transactions made in Singapore.

UNI$ will only be awarded for every $5 spent.

did a simple calculation for local spending...

DBS Altitude vs UOB PRVI Miles

based on $50 Isetan (UOB) vs $50 Taka (DBS) - DBS wins even though 3 points per $5

this card, overseas & local spending lose in terms of my rewards redemption habits...

i'm not very keen about flyer miles as i travel for work... can clock quite easily
