AN ARMY deserter fell to his death while trying to evade arrest from military police

http://thecourtroom.stomp.com.sg/sto...o_evade_arrest .html

AN ARMY deserter fell from the fifth-floor kitchen window ledge while trying to evade arrest from military police.

Mr Amos Seah Song Han, 25, died the next day of multiple injuries.

He was at his home in Block 152 Woodlands Street 13 when military police came knocking at his door on May 13 last year.

His father claimed that he was not in and refused to let the military police in to check.

Mr Seah was later seen appearing at the kitchen window looking up and down by a military police corporal who was watching the unit from the opposite block.

The corporal saw Mr Seah putting his right leg out of the kitchen window and holding onto the kitchen sill. But before he could put his left leg onto the kitchen ledge, he plunged to the ground floor.

On Monday, State Coroner Victor Yeo recorded a verdict of misadventure on his death.

moderator can delete this thread. Very bias and very misleading as obviously it is the deserter who are wrong NOT the garment or the military police. If like that also need sympathy, then we will see a huge rise of army deserters.

It's not suicide. Fella didn't intend to plunge to his death.

Disagree, keep the thread and let people know someone died. It's current affairs and reading through the thread title and content, I don't see anything misleading. Deletion has no purpose but censoring for the sake of censoring.

Those who read might want to delve deeper into it. Could ask questions like "why he deserted" or be impressed by MP's strategy to cover all exit points...

The article is short and simple. Unless people are so impressionable or so incompetent, that reading a single sentence can cause intense cranial damage, guess they just need to improve reading comprehension.

At least now one more famous amos.

What I am curious, is whether he escaped national service totally or just didn't go for reservist ICT. Because for him to evade the 2 or 2.5 year National Service til age 25 is quite a feat.

If he just escape ICT, then he could actually just get away with a fine, assuming it is his first time offence.
