The upside is that they have finally learn to communicate to commuters. Before I board the train, someone is boardcasting the message very frequently. The electronic sign is a readable wall of text detailing the affected stations. You aren't going to be stuck in a train, not know what happened.

yeah the damage control is pretty good this time, but i wonder what it's gonna be? global warming? march-april drizzling season? chengmeng ghosts coming back to haunt them?

I think the matter now is not whether they did a good regular maintenance or not. Is a question of whether they are capable to run the operation right.

I believe this is going to be world first.

Technically that's SBS Transit and not SMRT.

But yes, I agree with u that SBS Transit should have tightened its ass since last December after the major SMRT disruptions, so no excuses for SBS Transit too.

Not to mention, NEL is a relatively newer line compared to the NS and EW lines.

May be, but the the amount of time they need to take to repair it. This is like the whole day down event - long and long each time. They ready do not have a backup system for it ?? LTA never review this ? or all they know to issue another fine to SMRT?

It is a teething problem and there was no break down... it is only delayed.

Jokes aside, it is quite surprising NEL is having problem this early. I don't think SBS transit is to be blamed completely as the infrastructure was built by LTA if I am not mistaken.
