canon international warranty ceased to exist since last sept i think.
anyway IS cannot stop motion, it just gives you more hand-holdability. you will still need fast shutter speed to freeze motion.

shutter to freeze. not aperture. though aperture plays a fair bit inorder to get the shutter speed to freeze action without becoming too dark or bright hmm.. ok aperture contributes to faster shutter speed somehow right? besides that how to increase?

noted bro =) Try playing with different aperture in A mode at the same ISO focusing on the same area, you should see that the shutter speed slows down (e.g 1/20 to 10s) as the aperture goes from max to min e.g. 2 being the max and 20 being the min. Then adjust your ISO from 200 to 1600 and you should see the shutter speed value changes as compared to the above. What technica is trying to tell you is the shutter speed matters if you want to freeze motion. Example, try shooting at the fan blade with 1/2000s and 1/100s. You should be able to see the fan blade freezes with 1/2000s and the fan blade spinning at 1/100s. Pardon my poor explanation. ![]()

Anyway, we are off topic. Shouldn't this thread be about the Hong Kong DSLR market recommendations?

Aperture is to allow more light to enter thus if possible preventing your shutter speed to drop to a limit below 1/focal length which induce motion blur and this is also the part where your IS and ISO comes into play too (low light situation). thanks.. ya i had tried it just now but upping my ISO from 100 - 6400 ... the shutter speed got diff hahah
