Red face [Guide] Ordering stuff from Amazon Japan with Tenso

Having problems shipping stuff from Amazon Japan because they hate everyone outside Japan? Want that elusive electronic item but it has a lithium ion battery, and not allowed to be shipped via EMS? Fret not, I created a small guide to help those who want to get stuff from Amazon Japan!

First, go to ?????????????????????????????? obviously. Click the English button. Register an account, it's very straight forward.

Once you have registered, you will be greeted by this control panel. Ignore the rest of the screen, and scroll to the bottom.

You can ignore the other parts of the screen and concentrate on what's in the pink box for now. That will be the most important one for Amazon JP. So now make your way to Amazon.co.jpF ’” - ƒtƒ@ƒbƒVƒ‡ƒ“A‰“d‚‚H•i‚‚Ły–—”z‘—z to register an account!

See the top right corner? Click the English link.

Register an account, it's very straight forward as well. Once you get to your panel like above, hit manage address book.

You will need to register TWO addresses. One for your credit card, one for the Tenso one. Your own address should be easy to register, so we'll proceed with the Japanese Tenso one. You can add one by hitting the Add Japanese Address button at the bottom.

Your address should look like this. Do note the 2nd line should be your account number, which should have a TS and a combination of numbers. Make sure to copy the 2nd line from that pink box and paste it in there.

So why should you use Tenso? Aside from one of the few companies that can ship items with lithium ion batteries like MP3 players, they are able to consolidate packages from multiple locations to help you save shipping.

My experience with express shipping with Amazon JP is pretty good. They use kuroneko to ship their stuff, and the top up in price is usually very minimal. If you want yours to reach quickly, just pay the small difference for the service.

Do note that Amazon JP is a bit picky with credit cards. It had issues with my UOB card, but had no problems with my Everyday card, so if you get an email in Japanese with your card's expiry date, most likely it had problems. Just use Google Translate to check out what the email is saying.

Happy shopping!

PS. I'm no expert, but ask HERE (DO NOT PM ME) if you have questions or got problems.

Yes, they used UPS to ship my MP3 player since cannot use EMS.

At the bottom of your control panel there's an estimator, also shown in the pictures. I have no idea how to share what shipping costs are like since it varies from package to package.
