About The Show

When love arrives, happiness can be very simple.

Everyone likes to give a nickname to middle-aged single ladies. As more women become equally/more educated than men, is marrying late or not at all, a choice? Or is it a trend?

Marriage is not something you buy at a supermarket; you pay for what you want. Being a cheapskate will not get you anything good and don’t even think about getting discounts! With your life happiness on the line, who doesn’t want the best for themselves? But do you really get the best through all that choosing?

This drama takes a light-hearted and humorous approach to discuss the reasons why people are marrying late or not at all, through the life stories of 3 women belonging to 3 different categories: Rainbow, Xixi, the workaholic and Ruoxian.

Category 1: The power-woman

Economically independent and pretty. Owns many positive traits, has no lack of suitors and is often the centre of attraction. Has high expectations of the other half. Yet, when she is tired of flirtatious love and wants to settle down, will she be able to find a man who can offer true love? Does the choosing when younger, but now with little time left, will she lower her pride and be the chosen one instead?

Representative - Rainbow

Category 2: The workaholic

Loves her work, always busy, and has no time for love. Unfortunately, love needs time and nurturing; a marriage needs conscientious management. They often sacrifice their relationship for a successful career. Does there really have to be a choice between love and career? Or is it because there is no time to look for the right one?

Representative - Liu Xixi

Category 3: The inferior one

Lacks confidence, always thinks she is never good enough. Doesn’t believe her luck when even she meets her Mr Right. Chooses to self-question and give up even before the get-go. Usually raises the white flag before the war starts and is too weak to withstand any blow. If she does not love herself, how is she able to love others and receive love?

Representative - Liang Ruoxian

Is there truth in ‘there is no woman who can’t be married, only those who choose not to’ or is it ‘All women want to get married but not all have the luck of getting hitched’?

To remain single is to enjoy single life? Or are they forced to be single? Perhaps there other unspoken difficulties? We'll touch on this topic with a light-hearted approach.

刘子绚 Jesseca Liu 饰演 洪彩虹 Rainbow, 35

Rainbow：35 years, attractive single and has no lack of suitors. A modern matchmaker and creator of ‘cupid matchmaking website’. Under her flawless skin lies a person with a vicious tongue, who is a cheapskate, self-loving and has other weird traits. Only her two friends know her best: her bark is worse than her bite.

林湘萍 Yvonne Lim 饰演 刘喜喜 Xixi, 35

Xixi ：35 years，a workaholic and not one to beat about the bush. A gynaecologist in a hospital who is not only well-loved by her patients, but also a role model to her medical staff. In fact, a male nurse has been secretly carrying a torch for her. She craves for love and hopes to have many babies, but her status turns many guys away. Instead, those who go after her are married men.

雅慧 Ya Hui 饰演 梁若仙 Ruoxian, 28

Ruoxian: 28 years, unlucky girl. A good baker, she turns to food when she feels down and started binging on food after a failed relationship. Kind, introvert and shy, she likes to be around children, and is afraid of people with ulterior motives, especially love cheats. Loves her family and does not mind sacrificing her future for them.

王沺裁 Thomas Ong 饰演 黄学文 Bill, 35

Bill ：35 year-old plastic surgeon. Charismatic, playboy, perfectionist, and loves money. Likes to complain about life and is full of himself. Started off with Rainbow but grew to like Xixi more.

方展发 Pierre Png 饰演 李顺利 Richard, 38

Richard: 38-year-old cab driver and part-time lifeguard. Likes to read and learn new things despite his highest qualification being ‘O’ levels. Saved Rainbow once and when Rainbow found out that he was a cab driver, she tried to give him a makeover to become her perfect boyfriend. Richard tried to be part of her world but faced many difficulties.

徐鸣杰 Jeffrey Xu 饰演 徐小东 Dave, 25

Dave ：25 year-old male nurse who is kind, caring and helpful. Sees Xixi as his idol and decides to pursue her. He persisted despite being rejected. It was only when Xixi told him he was not good enough for her, that he gave up. But the real reason was because Xixi could not accept a younger boyfriend.

袁帅 Yuan Shuai 饰演 黄学文 Gary, 29

Gary: 29 year-old teacher. Used to be obese but has become muscular. Loyal, honest and well-liked by students. When he fell in love with Ruoxian back then, he decided to lose weight to go after her. When he finally succeeded, he did not expect Ruoxian to become fat instead. But that did not turn him off. He persisted despite numerous rejections from Ruoxian.
